Thanks Diana.

My fiancee paid the $131.00 earlier this month but our interview will be after the new $350 fee is implemented. I hope they don't make us pay the difference during the interview, or make us go back to Banco Helm.....

Same here,

We already had our interview on May 12,2010 and needed to have a second interview to bring in a document they requested at the first interview ..The second interview is on June 17.. But since we already had the 1st interview will this affect our case??

Hi,

Those are good questions, as I was typing a question like that in google, I noticed the U.S embassy in Jamaica actually says they have to go back and pay the difference. On the embassy site for Bogota it does not have it stated yet. I am not sure if certain embassies will do it like that or all. It makes me nervous because I paying for two people and I am not close to being wealthy or well-off. I paid $262.00 almost 2-3 weeks ago for both. If I have to pay the difference that is nearly 500.00 more dollars. It's not fair if they make us go back and pay more, , that's like implementing a new law today and going back and arresting everyone for breaking the law, that did not exist when they actually did it.

That will suck big time if you have to fork over another $500...The new fee is not very clear or maybye I am

reading it wrong.. They must think we use money for toilet paper... I agree with you mate... It's like going back and arresting everyone for

breaking a law after the law was implemented........ :wow::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk:

BTW I sent an E-Mail to the US Embassy in Bogota yesterday asking them about this...I will let you know when they reply to me..

Yakad,

I read into the new fees so the AOS fee for a K-1 visa here in the USA is now going to be $1,080 ??

$70.00 more to process the affidavid of support I-864 form ??

yeah, is confusing  , in my understanding the AOS fees is $1010

is really hard to answer these doubts, the clue is in their statement: I quote: " Applicants will have to pay the full fee in effect on the day they apply, regardless of when they pay."

is a good question what do they consider the 'application day', when you submit your application ds-156 (is the same day when you attend the interview date) or the day they process the pck 3?

A quick question if you don't mind. I'm going to be filing DCF in July. I contacted the embassy via email and they told me that I need the following documentation:

- Petition I-130

- Applicant’s Birth Certificate (with translation)

- Marriage certificate (with translation)

- Form G-325 (one for the applicant and one for the petitioner)

- Photo (one for the applicant and one for the petitioner)

- Applicant’s passport.

So that's all good and dandy. I asked if I could do the translations myself and they replied affirmatively.

They also said I need to call and make an appointment, but what for? I thought I was just dropping off the paperwork and nothing else? They can't seriously need me to have an appointment for something that will take 5 minutes, can they?

Thanks for the help.

I was told the same thing...you apply for a pin and pay money to Colpatria to file your I -130. That is what I remember at least... Good luck with the process. I am no longer doing DCF because Colombia makes you broke and pay for an English teacher is mediocre at best, so CR-1 here I come  6-7 months again without my wife is going to be horrible... but like I said, good luck with all

7/2/10- NOA1

2/9/11- NOA2 (transferred to Texas)

NVC

2/28/11- case number received

3/2/11- Paid AOS bill

3/5/11- Paid IV bill

3/12/11- expedite to Bogota consulate approved!!!

3/14/11- left NVC to Bogota for further processing

3/17/11- received by Bogota, emailed consulate and was told to send DS-230 and DS-2100 (packet 3)

3/18/11- packet 3 emailed to Bogota consulate, email confirmation on March 23

3/31/11- Interview date! Approved!!!!!!

Keep the faith, everything works out for the very best

It's not so bad if you work at one of the bilingual high schools that provide you with an apartment and other benefits.

How long does the first trip take? Is it just a few minutes to drop off paperwork or do they make you wait around and then actually tell you right then if you're approved to do a DCF or not?

Yes, you need to make an appointment even if you're just dropping off the paperwork. It wasn't like that a few years ago but now you have to pay to make an appointment, go in, drop off the paperwork and call it a day.

I just had to pay for a pin # to make an appointment to bring in a DAS certificate for myself that they requested.....Now I have to wait till June 17th just to bring them one DAS letter...But this is considered a second interview also... So for me it was not an issue.
