I just read a thread in the Latin American forum that the US will be increasing visa fees worldwide effective Friday June 4. The VJ thread and the other link is mainly in regards to the US Embassy in Jamaica but the article does say that they plan on implementing it worldwide. This is just an FYI so you're prepared in case the bank starts charging you the $350 visa fee vs. the $131 in June.

I just realized that this fee increase pushes the K-1 visa over $2000, WOW....and that's not even including the fees for adjustment of status later on. DCF or CR1 is pushed over $1000 now but that sounds a hell of a lot better to me! That is quite a fee hike..$219?? Jeez

woops, my mistake..it does include the AOS, but of course doesn't include very important things such as your marriage. Man oh man, the K 1 just got pricier...

Thanks Diana for the info. I was going to wait until I go down on June 9th, but now Carol will have to take care of this herself.

It's ironic that I told her last night that we should pay the visa fee soon because they may increase the fee anyday.

Assuming on 6-17-10 Maria gets her visa approved. Then she goes to the Domesa office right there at the Embassy in the middle

and pays for the pick up at the Domesa office instead of delivery. Will she be able to pick it up sooner than if she chose delivery?

We would like to have the passport in time for a flight on 6-25-10 .... 8 days after the interview..5 full buisness days would be 6-24-10 as the flight is 9 AM to the USA. Is this a realistic time? the 3-5 buisness days was for delivery I thought. Isn't pick up at the office sooner. As she lives right there in Bogota.

I read into the new fees so the AOS fee for a K-1 visa here in the USA is now going to be $1,080 ??

$70.00 more to process the affidavid of support I-864 form ??

My fiancee paid the $131.00 earlier this month but our interview will be after the new $350 fee is implemented. I hope they don't make us pay the difference during the interview, or make us go back to Banco Helm.....
