so then use your pakistani passport goingback to Pk, then us passport on return home. Manzar filing for naturalization soon, good information. Also you have to stay in usa when you retire to get social security? ( something we need to know in 20 yrs or so when he is old babji) we have nice home in Pakistran would like to do our snow bird to warmer weather there 5 months our of the yr.

On the porifle thing, check timelines, seems pk males have longer AP and visa wait times. Even thought that horrible 9-1-1 time was mostly Arab nations terrorists. just my 2 cents. Immigration check points and waiting room etc very kind to husband and I. Just takes awhile 2 hrs upon reentrance to usa. so Now I mentionthis to nwa to get a later flight out of MSP to home. BY then 20 hrs later leaving ISL we are tired, hungry need refresh and have to go through luggage , get questions, go through many security checks. we are often few on the flight from London who go through this. London not usual big hassel, only the Brits are often making fun and laughing at us or being rude to me . maybe bcoz me a gori wife. who knows. I want to smack them. last time though they had a nice pakistni female at the desk who held the plane a few minutes for us at the emrirates desk. next time we are going direct no stop at London (heathrow an old mess they are remodling, no help or signs on where to go, make you take a bus and all that yada) anyway next time home we are going through Abu Dhabi on Etihad , direct from Chicago.

On the recieving end, If Im alone, I am lucky that my brother in law works at Benazir Bhutto airport. Bcozthey take some time to ask questions and clear Goris through that airport on entrance to PK (they do serve a nice Chai ) ahh Pakistani manners and hosting, best in world!!

On way back , Usa didnt give me bad time about my swords or decorative hookahs, It was the Pakistani customs which did.(still even though i was in VIP section) Nice that they are looking out on thier end for trouble makers. So I do see your point little brother. You never know when smart azz from India/PK could be posing as Sharukh to get in to Usa easily and maybe cause trouble. Why he wasnt travelling with his gaurds and etc. assistants. seems like he was alone , and they provided security at the conventions.

Laney , yes time goes fast.. Holidays bring back homesickness. now even for me ,( but then again 2 months in pk me ready to head back to states where i can drive around freely again lol) . Funny thing though I hang with the sisters, and etc friends over there, while he does his business or chats or catches up with all the friends and family memebers n, I shy away from him in markets, coz he looks like the American in his Ralph Loren and etc. ( naww he not spoiled he helps manage a dept in major dept store, so he gets huge discounts etc.. got primp up) Anyway, Im glad to hear yhe old sisters doing well here. With all the talk about foreign spouses I wanted to share a little bit about personal pics and life , to show that a family is family no matter who or where. There is good times and stories to share on both sides of the world and cultures. Some of the conflicts, and misunderstandings have been major concern over past 4 yrs, resolutions quick and respectable. Isnt that what marriage about. coming to agreements and not being selfish, also not giving up whole identity to make other happy. Continued happy endings for all!! Wa Salaams

Personaly I dont belive/saw Law only for Pakistani, but all they doing is screening to make sure they are going to permit a right person. This their Job and we should respect. ... As i said before, I saw they stoping people from all over the world for checking/investigation.

Strongly agree with IT-1....of course u dont want to be in a flight that is gonna get hijacked/blown up by these retarded ppl.So u do want to make sure that every one u are boarding with is just common people with respect for others irrespective of their beliefs.Ever since i cg hanged my last name to my married name,I go thru secondary checkinwith checking in,bcoz i unfortunately share my name with a suspected Al-Qaida financer. So it just takes a couple of minutes more and yes i do get pulled to the side but i dont mind.As long as u know u r clear n right and every one else to make sure ,let them.I never had any problems so far coming back...

i have no doubt they screen the passengers because all other passenger's life is at stake.

but when it comes to thinking about talibans, the first thought that comes to mind is muslims, the first country to think of is afghanistan, and then pakistan.

if i was an immigration officer i would do the same.i wiould interrogate pakistanis and afghanistani and people from other muslim worlds because the attackers and hijackers are most likely be from these countries.and the terrorist names are most likely be omar, usama, abdullah, muslim which are most popular in pakistan and afghanistan.

i strongly agree they do not do it on purpose or to bug the paasengers but as a part of their duty.

but its also true pakistanis have to face discrimination and Up to 45,000 of the estimated 100,000-strong Pakistani community in New York were deported or left voluntarily following the attacks, according to reports.

see discrimination section in

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistani_American

and what are you supposed to do if intelligence gives you information that the next flight has a terrorist hiding in it.obviously people of arab or pakistani or afghanistani origin are most likely to be subject to elaborated screening.

but i wont like to be pulled aside from the rest of the passengers for secondary security checks its just annoying, time waisting and i hate it for several other reasons.

Well, he made it in safely on August 18th Alhamdulillah. He says POE at JFK was a disaster for him. They kept him for 5 hours and were very rude to him. They asked him very horrible and personal questions too and he was very offended. He almost missed the shuttle to La Guardia. At any rate he is here by the Grace of Almighty Allah. How are all of you doing?
