Hello,

I have a question. I do not have any experience with the Islamabad consulate. A friend of mine is trying to work on immigration matters himself. I was wondering if anyone can tell me approximately how far out Islamabad is conducting interviews? He's a USC trying to bring his children (all minors). They have their CR-1 case complete with NVC yesterday. Any idea I can give him as to when to expect an interview date? I have looked at some time lines and it seems to be anywhere from 2 months to 2 and 1/2 months out from time of completion. Is this correct?

Thank you for your help!

yes NVC will assign the interview date now.. most probably for October and then they might be able to obtain the visa right away or the spouse can be put on AP like all of us and time duration for that cant be predicted. Since you said, all of them are minors, chances are they will be approved at the interview. He is almost done :-)

Guys, I called NVC today, they said they are done scheduling for September and I asked if he thinks I will get scheduled next month he said "potentially". Doesn't sound to promising. God if we don't get an October interview I will die. Living here with my parents is a nightmare n I wanna go to Pak n be with my man, get this interview DONE WITH! Plzzz wish me luck for October interview. By the way, is there anything on here that shows ISL VJers average time from case complete til interview? I'm interested how long it takes....

Guys, is there a way for me, a US citizen to get a 5 year multiple entry visa to Pakistan? I'm trying to get my visa now, last time I went they gave me single entry for 30 days, but we want a longer one now. Any suggestions?

Guys,

Please don’t waste your time for applying VISA. I suggest you (Which I did for my wife), If you are married to a Pakistani national and you are a US citizen, then apply for POC card (Pakistan Origin Card). This card is valid for 7 years and u can travel to Pakistan any time without a visa. All you need to show is POC card at point of entry. If you got this card you can even buy property in Pakistan and much more...here you go...let me know if any question you have...Ok

Pakistan Origin Card

For American Citizens

POC Requirements:

Completed POC Application form .

· 2 current photographs (passport size, light blue or white background preferred).

· Money order or cashier's check for the fee is $100 for adults, $50 for minors (below 18 years) made payable to the Embassy or Consulate General. US $ 10.00 additional for Home Delivery by DHL .

· Copy of American/Foreign passport. Foreign passport must be valid for at least 6 months at the time of application. Expired passport copies will not be accepted.

· At least 1 proof of Pakistani origin :

Copy of old Pakistani passport

Copy of old National ID Card (NIC)

Proof of property owned in Pakistan

(Proof of relationship with a Pakistani e.g. Marriage or Birth Certificate ), along with the relative's Pakistani passport or NIC.

· One Self addressed prepaid envelope if sending by mail (stamped and self-addressed). Please make sure to send a document-size envelop so we can send back portions of applications if so needed. This envelope will be used to send you back your receipt as well.

IMPORTANT: POC

• information on Pakistani relative living in Pakistan (Column 19-21)

• Personal information, left thumb impression and signature (Column 26) are required. For children, left thumb impression is required. In place of their signature, just write their names.

Note: Please surrender original CNIC card issued by NADRA if you are applying for a POC

http://www.embassyofpakistanusa.org/nicop.php

I will add more, please call Pakistan embassy and asked them more details, .that’s what I did and it will take about 2 to 3 months to get POC, but huge benefits... If you would like to go for Visa, ask some one from Pakistan and or your Husband to send you invitation... Then possibly you will get a multiple visa.

Thanks,

IT.

thats pretty cool... I guess since I'm leaving in like a month or something I dont have time to get that card, but I am wondering, once I'm in Pak, isn't there some way for me to get like permanent residence or something? Anyways, if I can't maybe I will get that POC thingy when I'm there. Lets see...

Yes ofcourse you can get in Pakistan. Actualy thats how i got for my wife. All you need o do is, ask your husband to call Nadra Islamabad and asked them, what docs they need. Then go in person with your husband... Oh hold on..Maybe your husband would like o talk with local office if they can do for you there... But ya this is 100% possible you can/will get POC while you are in Pakistan...

Ya this is like permanent resident and easy no Immigrations / wait long etc.. nor need to worry approved or deney...This is 100% you will get and nothing easy then this at this time you can get....stress free Guys..

Guys,

What I said above, you qualify for POC card. Are you married to a Pakistani? If your answer is yes.. Then go ahead and apply for that. All you need to show is your Marriage cert copy to them. My wife is not a Pakistani, once we got married and I applied for POC and she got with out any prob. All we submit if I remember correctly now, my Pak ID copy, Marriage cert and her US passport copy. We got the POC in about 5 weeks...

When we applied for POC, my wife was on Visit visa. We went to Islamabad Nadra office and pay the fee and we provide them paper work and show them originals and that’s it.... don’t worry and call Pak Embassy in US and ask them what you need to show...Ok

ALL you need to show you are married to a Pakistani. Thats it.

I belive you miss, what I sadi in my ist reply..check below i copy few lines from my ist post...

At least 1 proof of Pakistani origin :

Copy of old Pakistani passport

Copy of old National ID Card (NIC)

Proof of property owned in Pakistan

(Proof of relationship with a Pakistani e.g. Marriage or Birth Certificate ), along with the relative's Pakistani passport or NIC.
