Congrats and best of luck

Hey folk,

i have a question, In order to get police certificate, do i need any documents or any kind of letter to show police? My parents case is still in NVC.

My husband needed the letter for Karachi only.. he got the police certificate from Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad without being asked for any letter because they do know that usually it's required for US immigration purposes.

Yes, you need to show the letter from USE Islamabad in which they asked abt the Police certificate from specific city or cities.(Becoz they can ask abt that letter and you must have the proof.)

Following things you will have to submit for Police certificate.

1-Your ID copy

2-Letter from US Embassy

3-Photograph (Keep 4 with blue background)

4-Applicable fee.

Note! You also have to remind them that you are applying for US Immigration.

Best of luck

Wht is applicable fees? and how much it is? Do we need to send police certificate with D230 Form, that we send to NVC. Let me brief you guys about my parents case, my father is migrated from Bangladesh in 1974 and at that time he was 23 years old, so in that case do i need to have police certificate from Bangladesh as well ? becouse the rule is that whereever you have been lived after 16 years of age, you need to have police certificate from that city or country. Wht should i do for that?????? i have no connection in bangladesh.

Hi, check this link, bring the dropdown box to ISL, that shows the specific information for Islamabad regarding birth certificates and other docs you need even for older birth certificates required like yours. Ok, hope it helps....

Hello Afia,

Congratulations. The embasssy calls from a cell number and not a landline when they contact the persons in AP and they do work on Saturdays. Saturdays are for employees only and no interviews are done on this day. Have your husband submit his documents to AMEX and just wiat for the passport to be returned. It can take anywhere from 2 -6 weeks for it to be sent back from what others are posting right now.

Hi Sibtain

Waheed arrived in Chicago O'Hare on June 3rd. His experience with immigration at the airport went very smoothly. First he did his fingerprinting at the immigration counter and he gave them his packet and passport. Then he had to go to a room with 10 others and waited for his name to be called. He only waited a short and they called him. The immigration asked him a few questions and then told him "Welcome to America". They did not want to see his X-ray as the Embassy told him to bring it with him. They stamped and stapled his I-94 card to his passport. The whole process was less than 30 minutes. After he left the immigration lounge to collect his luggage it was already set aside for him to pick up.

Waheed is doing very well here. We are in the process of getting everything together to file his AOS. Gabby is almost two months old now and she is doing very well. We are enjoying being grandparents.

We both hope and pray you get your visa soon Sibtain.
