As if this process hasnt taken long enough already...it is 1:45am in Philadelphia, 10:45am in Islamabad. I would have thought i would have heard from my fiancee by now as to how her interview went. hope to hear from her soon with good news as I have waited a long time for this...

Just got off the phone with my girl...SUCCESS!!! she said the interview was 2 minutes long, just asked where we met and a few other questions. Then told her that she can pick up her visa in 7 days at the American Express courier in Karachi. I will get more details from her in the morning (it as 2am and im tired) and post a review for everyone. Please note for those that have interviews coming up, she went to the Convention Center to catch the shuttle and there was no shuttle. Someone at the convention center said she had to go someone else because they moved the site from the convention center. again, when i find out more details as to where she went to catch the shuttle i will post.

thank you for the well wishes kris...I met my girl when she was going to school in the US. she graduated in 2007 and moved back to karachi in october 2007 because we talked marriage so she wanted to spend time with her family. i went to visit her and meet her family last april and asked her parents permission for her hand. she then came back to the states last summer and we got engaged. so we have seen each other a couple of times, but basically we have been apart since october 2007. it will all be worth it when she comes back to the states with me. im flying over to karachi in 2 weeks to attend her cousins wedding and also to have a engagement/wedding party for us. now that she has her visa she will come back to the US with me...i cannot wait.

I wish the rest of the people still waiting the best of luck...this process has been extremly difficult.

Question for K3 people. Has anyone been able to talk to someone in Islamabad embassy. Been trying for the past 2 days and i get the busy message. I have also emailed them and no response. My packet left NVC on the 11th and was recieved by the embassy on the 17th and the wife hasn't received it yet so trying to inquire about that.

It's difficult, you just have to keep trying. Becomes easier to talk to someone around 2:00pm Pakistan time

Those that got the packet.. What type of mail did it come in. Do you have to sign for it?

Thanks for all your help.

It is so nice to see someone go through this process so smoothly. I looked at your timeline and rarely do you see someone from Pakistan go through this process without landing in the hell of AP. Being apart from you loved one is so difficult for everyone but now .... it is your Happy time. :luv: My best wishes to you and your lady. Hope you will come back and give us updates.

Hello! How are you all doing? Well, got bad news they want him to go for his interview April 2. I do not get it because he did not even get any letter yet for the interview. I want to reschedule. How can we reschedule his interview?

hi Fariha, I think you should call the embassy asap to reschedule, and as in your case( because its NIV ) i guess you could also be reschedule from amex, but i am not sure, so call them up and tell them you want to reschedule it. But why you want to reschedule it? Just because he did get the interview letter! Well if that’s the case then, you should call them and tell them to fax or email the interview letter to you, and that’s it.

Hey kris,

is it is dknoon3, not dkoon. my last name is noon. anyway, it was pretty smooth minus the length of time it took. our case might have been different than most because my fiancee was born in scotland. her parents were living in scotland at that time and stayed there for a couple years before returning to pakistan. so fortunate for her she is a british citizen, even though she is pakistani. I think because she has a british passport things went smoother for us. we were going to just use her visa waiver and get married while she was here visiting but decided to go the legal route not knowing it would take this long. im not sure how much this helped, but she also went to college in the US so she had been living in the US for 4 years with annual trips back to Pakistan and never had any red flags. i still havent a detailed converstation with her because she didnt sleep last night because of nerves so she is catching up on sleep right now...she is flying back to karachi sometime tonight so hopefully ill here from her when she is at the airport.

I will keep you updated...first off Im making my 2nd trip to Karachi in 2 weeks. I have only attended american weddings so i should be in for a treat. we are having an engagement/wedding ceremony (not really sure what to call it but we arent legally getting married.), so far that reception list is up to 675 people. her cousin is marrying someone pretty famous from pakistan so their wedding is going to be over 2000 guests. how do you possibly know that many people that you would invite to your wedding is beyond me. wedding in the US will be much smaller.
