Hi Everyone

Called DOS today.. my bi-weelkly ritual. When I call them, the only response I have ever gotten from them is that our case is pending administative processing. They will never tell me anything else. Today I asked her... We have been through two home visits, three requests for more information, and 8 months of waiting since his interview ... So just what are we waiting on now? She told me that we are waiting on the name check to clear. For the first time in calling DOS, I truly feel I got an honest response from someone.

Got great news! We got our interview date! April 6th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that was fast. I called DOS and they said my wife's interview is on Apr 13, and we had submitted our documents in Feb. I'm glad yours was faster!

Darn! I'd like to trade, I wanted April 13th it would have worked out better for us!

Congrates browneyedgirl on ur visa. I am so happy for u. It's my baby love's medical tomorrow and then she has an interview on march 30th. I will be going to pakistan in 2 weeks. I hope she gets the visa in hand, so both of us can travel back to US. I pray for everyone out there away from their loved ones. Khuda kare sub ki mushkilein aasan ho jayen. Ameen.

anyone knows anything about good hotels in Lahore to stay? I am thinking about Pearl continental. did someone stayed there or know how much it cost and how is the place? let me know please. I looke dup mirage as wel but that seems like some humpo dumpo place. Not sure if it is what it seems. Holiday inn in lahore? any info please!!

PC is very nice, but it comes out to around 10-11K rupees. Don't know about the other place.

Question.. how long does it take for consulate to mail out the packet 3.5? Wife is Karachi.

Thanks Irfan. Our case was supposedly transferred to Islamabad on 12 Jan, and we got the packet 3.5 on 24 Jan. So I guess about 2-3 weeks?

You can always call them during their hours, although it's a pain to get through

tracking the package will be the best deal u can get. I know u dont have tracking number but if u know what date was package sent go to dhl.com and see whats send to ISB on the date u have. if u want more information on how to do that search for a thread called tracking dhl package. Still cant do? let me know the date sent and i will find out for u. Wish u luck.

here is how it's done!!

1. Go to: http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

2. In Reference, enter the info as follows:

EXP DD MMM YYYYA

EXP is constant

DD is the date before the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on February 12 2009, this would be entered as "EXP 11 FEB 2009A"

3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case

4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter todays date

5. Keep the rest of the fields blank

7. Once you enter the info, press "Track"

8. After a while you will see a list of all of the packages that left the NVC today. You need to search for the specific consulate, in your case Lima?

9. When you find the shipment the corresponds to your consulate, you will see the tracking number that you can record.

10. You can then track the shipment from the NVC to your specific Consulate"

This is a very good and informative thread. Please answer these questions. For CR1, will I have to submit all originals documents from Pakistan to NVC or can NVC accepts the notraized certiffied true copies??? Also, the orginal Nikkah Nama in Urdu, do I have to notraized it (I am talking about the orginal one, Not the copies). Our Nkkah Nama already has Union council stamp and registrar's signature.

Please anyone who submited documents to NVC for CR1 Visa, please Reply!! Thanks and Good Luck to all!!!!!!!

My dh is in Karachi too. It took about 2 weeks-I think! You can always email them and ask when they sent it (pakivquery@state.gov)! They always reply to me within a day-Alhamdulillah!

I hope you doing well, you can submit the notarized certified true copies and they should be certified by Foreign Affairs office too. Nikah nama is fine but you still can get it notarized and it has to be certified by Foreign Affairs specialy.

Hello Rehan!

If you are at NVC stage then you send the orignal or photo copy .Make atleast 2 copies of all documents.

You have to send urdu & english version nikah nama.Well i notarized the nikkah nama and also i attested these documents from Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

So you should get 2 attestaions.

1-Ministry of Foreign Affairs

2-Notarized

Thank you so much!! So that means that if documents are not attested from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then, I will have to sumbit the orignals, but if they are attested and notraized, then I can submit the copies!! Is this right?? I am just hesitant to submit originals to NVC. Thank you again for your help and good luck to both of you!! Also, even if I am submitting the orignals, do all copies still have to be attested from Ministry of Foreign Affairs or they just need to be notraized???

I am at USCIS stage now, but recently, people are getting approvals very quickly, so I am gathering all my documents right now.

My Fiancee leaves tomorrow from Karachi to Islamabad for her interview on Friday morning. I never imagined this process would take so long and be so frustrating. Hopefully it is all over on Friday. Good luck to everyone else.
