Hello everyone!

My fiance is a Pakistani citizen, but he has been in the UK for the past 5 years on UK student visa, therefore, he will be interviewing in London for his K-1 in about a month. We are expecting him to be put in Administrative Review/ Processing in London after his interview because to date according to members here on VJ with similar situations, every Pakistani citizen going through London is put through AP/AR...granted it is not for 6 months or so in most cases. I have seen here on VJ that Pakistani citizens in the UK on student visa average AP/AR from 4 days- 8 weeks. I was looking for some information, if any of you kind folks could help me out:

1.) What is the reason for AP/AR for Pakistanis? Is it common names causing false-hits in security name checks or what???

2.) And why is it that Pakistani citizens in Pakistan get put on AP for ages and ages, whereas in London, Pakistani citizens average a much, much lesser time in AP/AR?

Hopefully we wont be in AP for long, but it is depressing to be expecting it...

I admire every one of you that have made it through the torture of AP, may God bless you all!

Hope anyone here can help us out with some info...:)

Thanks!

-Marm

Aww congratulations Fatima! I bet he can't wait to meet little Aisha. How old is she now, about 6 months? It is going to be so great to have her daddy spoiling her! I know you have already done your fair share girl! That is what Zain is talking about now is coming here to spoil my kids and then now he wants to have a NEW baby! I think he wants to turn my hair grey at an early age! We already got the three! I did not see you on here in ages. I am on yahoo if you want to message me! I would like to know the exact day he is flying out as you know we are flying out this weekend and I guess he is coming in! What is his POE? So, woah....lots of activity here on the Islamabad forum this month!

*Change of Topic*

Ok now guys moving on to my own issues.....how much longer until we get the packet 4? We did not hear anything yet. Zain is getting impatient now that he got discharged from the Navy. Please tell us is everything going to be okay because he made a major mistake? He forgot to put the DS156 and DS157 in there because he left them on his dresser when he had sealed the envelope and got back he finally realized his error! We contacted the embassy and they said contact them in a week. So, what do you think everyone are they going to still send out packet 4 or will they instead issue an RFE?

Before my husband and I were married, he was in the same situation, in England on a student visa for like 6 years. He applied for a visit visa to the states and he was in ap for 8 months. So I don't think it matters where you are, but which checks they administer. Anyways, good luck
