Amal - I have a fireplace in my house. We've been here for about 7 years now and I have yet to light the thing. For me it's laziness because what you need to do is call a chimney sweep and have him/her inspect it and clean it out. They would be able to tell you if everything is in working order and if not what you need to do. I've held back because I think the screen that you put in front is about $600 and I just have other things to spend money on. It's not that important to us right now. Plus I have no idea if it will affect my asthma though I guess it would depend on the type of wood you burn. There's a few trees that my Megan is allergic too so I'd have to be careful of that too. They look so cozy though. We unfortunately don't have a gas line leading to our street but if we did I was planning on making it a gas fireplace so you just flick a switch and turn the thing on.

Nothing new in the zoo. Still sick to my stomach. Stacey I don't think it was a stroke because the symptoms have been creeping on into my life, though who knows I'm not a dr. My Rheumy actually suspects MS which is weird because that's what my mom has, though hers has been in remission for quite a few years now.

Anyhoo hubby's off tonight so have a good one everyone!

Ash has been kidnapped by tiny VJ elves....they take each of us once in a while...thought I could get her back w/ the lovely "As the MENA Turns Posts" this week but no dice. Tried w/ Star too....those girls need to come back....I miss them way toooo much!
