@ caro: i can't see the pics. on my 10 weeks appointment i had gained 0, then at 15 weeks i was up 12.2. but that was right after my trip to brazil and i was eating like a pig, some of that might've been water weight.

@vi: cant see your pics either, i think they're blocked here at work. Soon you'll have your baby with you at home and everything will be fine

With Adam at 15 weeks I had gained about 7lbs (went up to 50lbs) with Allie at 15 weeks...I think it was around 4lbs or so (I gained 30lbs with her all together).

how do you remember all this stuff??? I don't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning...

@caro: awww what a cute belly! You will not believe how fast time will fly and you hold your baby!

@Vi: sorry Sofia is still in the hospital. I'm sure she will come home soon. A lot of preemies have jaundice and need phototherapy. Make sure you get some rest too!!

It's definitely an experience starting to show. The other day we went to a friend's house and she would not stop rubbing my belly, like seriously non stop. I mean, she's cool so I didn't say anything at the beginning but after sometime I was like "Hey, it's still me on the outside!"

I'm dreading my MIL's first visit...we've managed to escape a few so I'm sure soon we'll get the "I'm coming over, be there in 3 hours" call and she is very much the touching type. Predicting dark times ahead

Its been a while since I've been on this thread and OMG has time flown!!! First of all:

@ vi - Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl Sofi!! she's just so cute!!! When will she be coming home?

@ Nessa - Wow, you're already in your 9th month - I cant wait to see pics of Ben!!!

@ Caro - cute bump! When I was 15 weeks I had gained 5lbs.

Next Monday I have my ultrasound and I'll find out whether its a boy or a girl - IM SUPER EXCITED!!!! I cant believe Im almost at the halfway mark already!!

Karen...Zaid had a bad bad bad cold a few weeks ago and was only drinking 4 ounces of formula a day for almost 2 weeks straight. He wanted nothing to do with the bottle. Im pretty sure it had to do with the fact that everytime he tried to suck he couldnt breathe. I just offered him diluted juice from a cup all day long. He stayed hydrated and got over it. He absolutely would not take formula fromthe cup though, he was weirded out. Now, he is back to bottles with no problem, sad bc we will be taking the bottle away in the next 2 weeks or so..

@DanielParul: Congratulations and welcome to parenthood.

@Autumnchick: I think Adam had a time when he didn't really want to drink, that was right around that time when he started to not nurse as much anymore but didn't care about the sippy too much either. Maybe yuo can offer your little man some watermelon, cucumbers or other watery fruits and veggies. I'd definetly watch him and call the doc asap if he continutes like that. Ususally their body takes whatever it needs so they go from eating nothing but a banana one day to having adult size meals the next. Adam has that every couple of weeks.

@Vi: I hope that you can take Sofia back home anytime soon. I wsa wondering if they let her go since she had a good weight for her gesatational age but it's better than they keep her at the hospital and watch her carefully.

36 weeks appointment today. according to my home scale i gained 4 lbs since last week

now for the math if that's even possible. to gain 1 lbs i have to eat 3500. so extra 3500x4=extra 14000 calories. in the last 7 days i ate an average of 1800 cal a day with the exception of saturday that i took the day to pig out.

so 6 days x 1800 = 14000

1 day x 1800 (reg calorie intake) + 14000 extra cal to gain 4 lbs = 15800.

option #1:

i ate almost 16,000 calories saturday

option # 2:

constipation + water retention = fake weight gain

@ Nessa: I'd say baby's fat which he gains now and water retention. I didn't retain water until the last 1-2 weeks of pregnancy (which was 35-37 weeks). I didn't realize how much water it was cause it was all over the body and I didn't look any "fatter"... Until after delivery - TMI - when you pee all that water out. It's like seriously, I just drank a bottle of water, where does this all come from???!!!!

True with Allie, not true with Adam. With Adam I had lots of water and I kept gaining weight, about 1lb a week.

Girls...

Just came back from visitin gmy little one, she is not under the light anymore, they transfer her to a regular crib, she is maintaining her temperature that is another good thing they only thing she needs to do is to eat!, she takes the nipple sucks for a little while and then falls asleep, then wakes up again all desperate sucks and falls asleep again. .

Her weight and height are perfet she looks very healthy compare to the oher babies but the doctor says that her weight and size are fooling us, she still a premie and is true. I spent the first days asking when can I take my baby home but know I try to be patient although I 'm dying to have her here with us. The good thing is that I have some extra time to get things ready like for example yesterday I went to Babies R Us in Manhattan with my mom, we got a few gift cards and we went crazy in that store!!

Btw, It's amazing to see my belly shrinking, I'm breastfeeding and is definitely helping alot

I'll be honest Vi, we were lucky and he came home with me 3 days after my c-section. He was born at 35 weeks so a week ahead of your little one. I had 2 emergency shots to help strengthen his lungs, so i think that helped. He was in an incubator a couple of days and everytime we held him he had an oxygen tube attached to his blanket to blow oxygen into his face to help him breathe. The hospital is totally doing the best thing keeping her in a little while, i doubt she'll be in too much longer, she looks great, though as they say she is still a preemie at 34 weeks. Not be long till shes in her own crib i bet!
