OMG...that last thing looks like monster. After all you are only bathing a baby, it's not that scientific.

We have the little rubber ducky thouh. It's good for babies who can sit up unassisted.

the last one is very common in brazil. it's a tub/changing table. u bathe him and then change right on top.

I hadn't registered for a bathtub because a friend had given us theirs, the basic baby bathtub(Like this ). But then another friend bought me this one:

It's a "spa" bathtub, but after a year we still have never tried using the part that's supposed to spray water or bubble up the water. One day we will. But I am glad she bought it for me, it's like a mini-real bathtub and I still just plop it up on the kitchen counter next to the sink and Kavi sits in it. It came with a newborn piece shown here:

It was good until it started smelling moldy and we threw it away. But overall, I liked having this kind of tub. When Kavi was too little to sit, I would just lay him down in it with a towel under his hand and pour the water over him, with it draining into the kitchen sink.

At two months, my two babies get a bath almost every evening. It is very quick. Zak loves it and Hana hates it. However, they love that I rub them down with baby oil afterwards and they really relax and drift off to sleep afterwards.

@ Nessa - We put our baby bathtub in the sink when we were first bathing Declan. He just lay there when he was so little and no water splashed on our counter. When he got a little older, we moved it to the bathtub. Now he just takes a bath in the regular bathtub and absolutely loves splashing around.

Well, I finally succumbed to Declan's cold. He started with croup on Sunday and then has been sick all week, fever, cough, stuffy nose. He hasn't been sleeping well at all, which meant I wasn't sleeping. I started feeling bad yesterday afternoon and when I woke up today, could barely breathe, my lungs ached so much. Thank god for helpful hubbies! Ron has been so wonderful. He took Declan on an outing today so I could rest.

We did baths on the kitchen counter for months. the blue fisher price tub actually clicks right onto my kitchen sink. Zaid loves baths and has since he was born. At about 6 months (When he could sit unsupported) we moved him into the regular bathtub. Now he swims and splashes around in it. He gets a bath everyday. The crackers, cookies, and everything else he eats all day is such a mess. I love the times when I will find food in his ear or something lol.

I definitly did not have the immediate bond with Zaid. It took time for me. I think after having been in labor so long I was barely coherent to my surroundings when I pushed him out. I had my eyes closed the whole time

When I worked in pediatrics we encuraged new parents to give babies' a regular bath, not so much because they're dirty, but it has been proven that warm water makes them comfortable and reminds them of life in the womb. The "bathing-bucket" is a common tool to use in Germany for a newborn, since it is tight around the baby and the water goes all the way up to keep him warm. Has anyone seen these in the US?

As for us, we are recovering from a week of a stomach virus...first my husband on Tuesday (I had to leave work early to take care of our son while he spent the day in the bathroom), then baby Ilyas starting on Wednesday night, then myself yesterday. Luckily I didn't get too sick since I'm the only one who seems to be able to take care of everyone. Ilyas just had some diarrhea and a little spit-up that smelled like puke but he never lost his good spirits (sorry if TMI). I am now convinced of the great healing power of breast milk!
