I was just wondering for those who were on the pill whether is was an issue after they stopped, since I've been on and off on it since I was 17 (mostly on, with some 3 month breaks every year or so).

Wow Nessa, some news! Having a date is awesome for sure! Not a mom and not preggers but I agree on the suggestion to try and get up and move asap after it, from watching my best friend (who's a big whiner over everything) she toughed it up and was up in the next day (she also didn't have health insurance so she went public, so you know they kick you out asap to open a bed for other people). She said it hurt like hell but 2 days later she was able to move around the house easily and in 4 days she drove herself to the bank to pay some bills.

I think I have pretty high pain tolerance and don't complain right away but I wouldn't say that abdominal surgery was a piece of cake. I know you didn't mean it like that but it really hurt, so for your friend to be out of the hospital earlier than insured moms deserves some respect I think.

My c/s scar is now finally starting to fade. About 3/4 are hardly even visible and the rest is still kinda purple, reddish. I don't like my scar, the surgeon was pissed off (he yelled at his assistants while I was in surgery) and the scar is all crooked and stuff..oh well. Nobody (except me and DH) will ever take a close look at it and I guess I'll jsut live with it and 'embrace' it :).

I meant about her whining 'cus for example when she had her wisdom tooth pulled she went crazy whining about the pain, etc, and hers was fully grown just pulled and she recovered so fast! I had all 4 of mine removed and they were all ingrown having to have a drill in my bone and all to remove and had an infection 'cus in one of them my gum tore appart and the dentist couldn't sew it all up properly and I know it was immense pain for me and can imagine it was much easier for her.

And I didn't mean it to offend my best friend saying she was whining, she knows what I am talking about and, she knows how she acts, and her family, all of our friends, and herself were surprised at how she was able to tough it up soon after the c-section.

I can't compare myself to a c-section but I've gone under the knife for liposuction from knee to waist (sides and backside) and post surgery moving is horrible. I was scared to move and I didn't move till the next day at noon and I regret not having moved before when my catheter was out.

She also did get to moving herself around as everyone here suggested 'cus she's a physiotherapist and was following her own teachings.

I was on and off since I was 16...didn't take it from when I was 21 - 22 and I got pregnant at 24 after I stopped the pill. I had a usual bleeding (as you have it with the pill) and then I ovulated and got pregnant. Same with Allie. Hard to believe, taht my kids were once a sperm and an egg...haha. Funny thought, looking at them now.

Yep, that sounds about kinda what I'm doing except I stopped taking at 28 and will be 30 in January. So I could get pregnant right after trying if nothing else is wrong with either of us. Curious curious ...

It's all those crazy survival hormones that your body sends out. It made her stronger and tougher.

Wow! A bunch of you are getting close!

Nessa: I just had a semi-planned c-section in January. My ob had prepared me for the eventuality from 28 weeks as neither twin was head down. So...by the end we knew it was going to be a c-section, just the day got moved up a few days. I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had not known anyone who had experienced one. I really didn't think it was that bad. The spinal was pretty quick and not all that painful at all. It was the feelings from the spinal that drove me crazy. I got really warm at one point during the surgery (the anesthesiologist gave me something for it - she said it was a reaction to one of the meds they gave me) and when I was in recovery I had tremors for about 2 hours. That drove me CRAZY. I didn't want to hold the babies for fear of not being able to control myself (crazy...I know). I was told that the postpartum bleeding is usually less for c-sections vs vaginal births (a positive). One thing to know...and something a distant friend told me she experienced as well, postpartum swelling is a big possibility. Both her and I were swollen from all the fluids they give you for 2 weeks afterwards. That was the most uncomfortable part!

I was really cold after my c-section and also shivering a lot. A friend of mine who had a c-section before me told me she shook too. I also had bad leg/feet swelling for about 10 days after my c-section. Found out that was pretty normal too, but uncomfortable!

I haven't really had time over the last couple weeks or more to keep up well with this thread, so please don't think I don't notice and read all the posts even if I can't write a lot these days! :) Good luck to all the soon-to-be moms, wow getting soooooo close!!!! The babies in the signatures are looking as cute as ever.

Kavi still doesn't sleep through the night. He wakes up twice usually. It feels like he never will sleep all night. :( And so that makes any thoughts of a second child far far away in my mind! And also traveling to India was pretty hard, with the flight and the time change, I can't imagine doing that again with Kavi AND a small baby anytime soon. We want to visit every year. Oh my, just don't know what to think. I didn't want Kavi to be an only child but we are debating it still because of so many things.

I was also shivering after the c/s. I was told it's the epidural and I got some Demerol for it. It worked immediately and I stopped shivering. At night I was hot/cold/hot/cold (Adam was born 1am in the morning so I had a whole night ahead of me). Also, I wasn't able to see him for four hours. They wanted me to be able to move my legs again before they wheeled me into my room.

Swelling...I had it too but I peed it all out soon after.

You will feel pushing and tugging but it doesn't hurt, it's just very uncomfortable. I started feeling sick and dizzy when they stuffed my uterus back inside me and they gave me something to make me sleep after Adam was born.

Good luck with the C-section Nessa! :star: I can't believe how close you all are! Go Babies!

@Missbollinger: How wonderful, hope things keep moving along for you!

@chnst: Did you have any preconditions going into labor that may have caused your hips to break?

Not many updates here. Baby and I are doing fine, I'm growing really fast now and starting to show. Morning sickness is past, except I cannot handle any hot drinks like tea, but I'm back to drinking yogurt and trying to eat right, which I'm very happy about

Saludos,

Caro
