I'm getting really impatient now and I realize he will come when he is ready but dangit momma is ready! Plus I am bored. I ran out of rooms to clean. *sigh*

It's up to you and I don't know exactly how far along you are but since you already have some contractions..have you considered taking some castor oil?

:rofl: and I thought it's the computers in your house. Are you two still sleeping in the same bed or did one of you move to the couch in the meantime? I slept on the couch the last 5 weeks or so.

38w + 1d now been dilating for the last 2 weeks. Last night I drank pineapple juice, sat on the yoga ball and tried the reflexology points. DH refused point blank to 'perform' because he didn't feel comfortable

I'm stuck! Well at least untill wednesday, as long as I have made enough progress I'm going to ask they strip the membranes to get things going before momma goes crazy.

Hope the membrane stripping works for you missbollinger. My OB thought I was nuts when I came in the third time to have my membranes stripped. He thought for sure I'd go into labor within hours..nada...

All the best. keep us updated, I can totally understand that you are going bonkers with all those contractions.

ETA: Nessa, mayb that is a sign, you are close enough in your pregnancy to be nesting. I remember cleaning the kitchen floors on all fours and scrubbing Adam's playhouse at 7 in the morning (because it got so hot very early in August here in TX). Everyday I was waiting fro those friggin contractions to start but all I got was Braxton Hicks galore.

Maybe you are one of the lucky ones that don't feel it. Believe me...that's nothing you want to have all day long. It's annoying, it hurts and it makes your belly terribly hard.

You feel a pulling sensation all over your belly, kinda like a leg cramp but in you belly. It started from underneath the belly button and then tightened all over the belly (I say belly quite a lot huh?).

@Stina, I hope you and Kavi are 100% again very soon. Rotavirus is no fun at all.

@Missbollinger, I hope things get moving for you soon!

@Nessa, Staashi, Vi, and all the other short-timers, wishing all of you well as you near the finish line. Staashi, you must really be close by now!

I've read that I shouldn't sleep flat on my back anymore because it interferes with the blood supply, and I've stayed on my left side as much as possible from the beginning. These days, I'm so much more comfortable and can breathe better with three or four pillows under my head, and I can usually sleep well on my side at that incline, but I have a feeling I'll be sleeping in a recliner before this is over. Is that considered safe to do, and has anyone done it? I can probably manage a tilt to the side in the recliner if that's safer. I will also try a maternity pillow, but we have a double bed, and I have a feeling it will be getting mighty crowded in there within a couple of months.

I think I'm finally starting to feel the baby move :) I'm getting little, quick pressure sensations on the midline a few inches below my navel.

Wishing everyone a great day.

@Caybee: About the back sleeping issue. I always said that my body is letting me know when it is not ok for the baby to sleep on my back anymore. I have had nights late in pregnancy when I woke up laying on my back and I just felt uncomfortable. It's just your body's way of letting you know to turn around. Your baby won't be damaged from you lying on your back for a while and it gets really uncomfortable later on. You will be fine.

I second the idea with the maternity pillow or just a plain ol body pillow. they sell those at sears or walmart (get a cover too, they sell them at sears) and you can just swing a leg over it, that keeps your from rolling onto your back too. We still use my pillow for the kids or whenever. I slept on the recliner a lot, rolled over onto my side. Not the most comfortable thing to do but what is comfort in late pregnancy anyway.

Congratulations on feeling twinges and butterflies. I felt Adam at around 18 weeks.

my doctor said it's ok to sleep in any position u feel comfortable, back, belly, side, etc

i didn't spend money on a maternity pillow, because i can use 3 pillows instead, one between my leg, one to hold and one under my head.

Stina - So glad you guys are on the mend.

Declan has croup. He woke up last night absolutely miserable and sounding like a seal barking. It was a ROUGH night. I am anticipating another sleepless night tonight too.
