I've missed a lot here but just wanted to say hey. Me and Kavi were sick for days! Kavi started throwing up last Tuesday, all day...then had diarrhea for days like really bad, leaking through the diaper almost every time. I followed the same pattern on Wednesday. :( I was stuck in bed for days, feeling horrible. Kavi went to the Dr with Suj on Friday and the Dr said it was rotavirus. Kavi hadn't had the vaccination for it, I wonder how that would have changed everything. The rotavirus causes vomitting and diarrhea because it's an intestinal virus, and cleans you out for days. Kavi is drinking soy milk and eating lots of bananas. Lactose makes the virus worse. He hasn't had diarrhea since Saturday so I think it's definitely going away now. :) Same for me. :P

Kavi had more energy than I did though, with the same sickness. I also managed to get a sinus infection too! Today I feel pretty good compared to the last week. It's been crazy with just getting back from India. I couldn't do anything around the house, no cleaning, no real unpacking or laudry or dishes. Bleh! Suj had to do a million things. Glad to be feeling better.

@Stina: Poor Kavi. Hope you two are feeling better. Something I have noticed in my family. When Adam comes home with a stomach bug, he usually throws up a few times, has diarrhea for a few days and then he's fine. Allie has almost nothing..only some explosive poops that smell funny BUT DH and I we suffer. We're sick for days, not able to eat anything, just miserable. I think kids are more resiliant when it comes to that...they get over it faster than an adult. Anyway, take it easy you two.

@Nessa: Aaaahhhhh....soon you'll have your little baby boy. Get Charles ready, instruct him on staying calm whenever you go into labor  . Make sure he knows how to get to the hospital. DH asked me where to go when I went into preterm labor with Allie. He was the one growing up here but he forgot how to get to the hospital  .

When we arrived at the hospital, they had a folder with all the local delivery restaurants. We ordered pizza and salad... I had no painful contractions yet and we were hungry :P (was at the hospital cause the water broke...) After Jona was born, the nurses brought us always two trays of food, one for me, one for hubbie (he roomed in with us).

I loved the advice from the midwife: take Gatorade to the hospital and drink it at home too when you're in labor. You need fluids, and that stuff gives you some calories and electrolytes for the athletic event of birth ;) As I cannot drink it purely (sugar overload!!!) we mixed it with water - the nurses keep bringing you ice water per request.

DH went to taco bell when I was being induced with Adam. When he came back I was on pitocin already (cause of the heart rate drop due to the cervidil) so I couln't eat anything. I had ice chips for about two days.

With Allie I only had breakfast in the morning. I kinda knew deep down inside that it won't take very long (considering that I was 6cm dilated) so I didn't bother bringing food. Well enough...5hrs after being admitted Allie was born, I had lunch one hour after birth...a hamburger..the best I've ever had  .

@Nessa and Charles. You two seem like a team...you are so funny. I'm wondering, do you have two computers at home or is one (or maybe both of you) at work?

both at work, we have 3 computers at home, of which currently only one is on the net. that may change to two in the near future.
