I agree with ANna and Autumnchick. Babies are supposed to stay inside mommy for at least 38 to 40 weeks if not even longer. Everything earlier might be too early. Baby has breathing problems, needs to stay at the hospital, has jaundie, problems sucking/swallowing etc. I understand that you just want your little ones to be born and that you are miserable. I have been there, done that too and I wanted nothing more than Allie and Adam to be born. In the end I'm glad I was preggo for 40+ weeks with both of them. Nursing went off without a hitch, they didn't have jaundice or any other health issues.

how do you guys add the little baby tool timing toolbar on your signature?

Some are from baby-gaga.com and some are from lilypie.com. Choose a site, create your ticker, and then paste the link they give you into your signature. The correct link should be the one that starts with [url=

I think that's right, anyway.

Do you have some news? :)

Forgive my little rant but I just had to interject - some babies and their mommas can't make it past a certain date and still live. I'd rather have a baby born at 34 weeks and live than have a pregnancy that continues with a diseased placenta or a mother who is sick with preeclampsia or diabetes and risk having a stillborn...8+ months of suffering to end up with nothing to hold in your arms. That would put a knife in so many people's hearts.

Every pregnancy is so different...I'm glad that I can carry this baby to 38 weeks (fingers crossed)...but I've been monitored so heavily...twice weekly neonatalogist visits with biophysical profiles on the baby and every 2 weeks/now once a week at my OB's office. But fortunately, I'm doing great and they see me as being relatively healthy because of how well I've taken care of myself during the pregnancy. My mantra - It's all for the baby. It's all for the baby.

Some babies and their mommies are truly miracles, and I can say this honestly that when my neo dr told me two weeks ago - "hey we're happy we got you to this point (34 weeks) - your baby can live fine on it's own from here on out" and the ob said "well we don't want you to go too long because we don't want the baby to be stillborn or have anything happen to you during childbirth". Well, you can imagine that my world was rocked - but at the end of the day I have to take into consideration my health first and then the baby's. As my hubby once said, if anything happened in Labor and Delivery and he had to choose between us, he'd choose me. I am just praying for a safe delivery for us both. That's my prayer.

Staashi - I am hoping for a safe delivery for you both. You have dealt with a lot during this pregnancy and been strong. I hope that my posting didn't upset you and I hope you didn't feel I was saying that people are negligent or making the wrong choice for having babies born earlier than full term. For a lot of situations, it truly is the best for the mother and the child. In my situation, my waters broke and what happened, happened. I had no choice, the baby was coming. It's just that he was jaundiced and had to be readmitted to the hospital the day after we left and then nursing was such a struggle. If I had a magic wand and could do it over again, I would wish for Declan to have been full term. Of course, those magic wands don't exist :(

I'm getting a little nervous here, the baby can come in any moment  OMG, OMG, OMG. And well, she is the only one that knows when is the right moment.

Today 6 friends (yes I counted) told me that my belly is really low, one of them even said that I'm not going to make it 'til the end of this month.

There is alot of walking at my work and it's killing me!!!! :crying:

It might sound crazy but during my last appointment I had to ask if she is 100% that I'm having a baby girl, I don't know why, just to make sure. I asked Sil what is we end having a boy?? and he said "no, you said it's a girl and I want my girl " he sounded so cute.....

well girls, have to go...

Hugs

Hey girls... just a quick not to those of you having trouble walking-- you may know this already, but in the last several weeks of pregnancy, your body secretes relaxin, a hormone which loosens the ligaments and collagen in your body. The reason you are having trouble walking is because the relaxin has been secreting and your pelvis is loose, not from baby weight, etc. If your pelvis loosens even a milimeter, it causes issues with walking, and your abdominals, etc are attempting to keep you together and make it possible to walk (which they do normally, but now they are working overtime). You figure, though, you have this large baby kinda stretching them out, and making it very difficult for them to contract in the way that they need to contract. So, basically, you want to be sure to not really exercise because of the relaxin-- you can seriously over-stretch things which are not meant to move, and in addition, it can damage your pelvis and your ligaments.

In bioarch, when we're looking at the "pelvic evidence" of childbirth in the skeletons, it's the bone damage from when the relaxin allows the pelvis to open up (because it's actually in two parts, 3 bones each in case anyone didn't know and thought it was either jsut two sides or a solid part.. the three bones of each side should completely fuse which is part of how you can walk at all, but they are weak points in the structure). The pubic symphasis (the part in the front where the two sides meet up and are held together) loosens up.. this makes it nearly imposible to walk normally (thus the waddle you get and the pain) and puts tremendous pressure on your pelvis and especially on your femora, and all the musculoture trying to hold it together and work (imagine a rope and a pulley and the rope slides off the pulley wheel and you're still trying to pull something up). Your symphases will grind together to a certain extend which can cause marks... also it losens up where it attaches at your sacrum which causes back pain. Men's pelves are actually the idea for bipedal walking, and we women are at the FAR EXTREME of permissability of widening for the opening and still being able to walk upright... it has compromised our ability to have easy births because we cannot have an opening which is large enough to actually straight birth a baby with such a large head. We need some help :)

Anyway, I'm just saying be careful and don't feel bad about being too tired or not being able to work out, or walk or do much.. it's actually good if you rest and take it easy at that point. the relaxin is amazing because all full-term baby heads are bigger than the pelvic inlet and outlet, and the baby needs to sort of cork-screw out, which is possible because of the relaxin. So, this is a good sign :) Good luck you all! It will be amazing and worth it!

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Oh! and I'm not saying you WILL get damage either, that's actually a common misconception.. most women never have a scratch on them and bone will heal after a period of several years even if you did get a bit of grinding (which you will not notice and never feel)... so no worries at all :) Normally, we can't tell a thing about kids, just so you know :)

Autumnchik - I'm not upset, I just wanted to write that every situation in pregnancy is different. Doesn't matter. And yes, even with all the discomfort I would have loved this baby to make it to 40 weeks, but I'm cool with 38. For you, you couldn't control that your water broke - so he was born at 37. Yeah a couple of bumps along the way, but he's doing great now. In the end, we can't control the situations that arise in pregnancy...we think we can but we cannot...we can only try to do what is best for us and the baby and hope that it all works out in the end.

@ Eveline - Don't feel bad...you're just a very fortunate woman who was able to carry two babies to term. WTG!

I can definitly relate to all of you wishing your babies were here :) Pregnancy seems to draag at the end. I dont know if anyone else went thru this but for me delivering zaid, was very bittersweet. I missed the kicks and simply knowing he was inside of me. I was sad for many many weeks.

I advise you to take the next few weeks and do everything you possibly can, dine out, shop, take a road trip, bc honestly your world will flip flop when that little one is here, and even tho its a good flip flop, those lil trips to the store, or dinner dates on the weekends become tasks, and thats if you do manage to get out of the house.

Good luck to everyone rounding their last few weeks of being preggo!
