Sounds good to me MissBollinger. You are either in the hospital by now or hopefully laboring around at home. I wouldn't go to the hospital before the contractions are 5minutes apart and you are unable to talk through them. If you go too early, they might send you home or start intervening right away.

Good luck MsBollinger!

Hubbie's cousin had her son, Colin (8 pounds something), at 8pm. My MIL thought it was long labor, but hers was actually less than mine and I thought mine had a pretty normal length!

BTW I thought 2.5 hours of pushing with Jona was much, but that's just what the obgyns want you to believe cause they want this to be over to return to the golf course ;). When my MIL had her kids, pushing up to 5 hours for a first time mom was never considered weird, but normal! Anyways, I found pushing to be such a piece of cake compared to labor. I know everyone experiences labor differently. Can't wait to her DH's cousin's story.

I pushed for 5 hours with adam and I'm telling you..I was so exhausted, I didn't even remember my name. The funny thing is that you don't feel like it's so long. You live in that one moment, trying to push baby out and time goes by so fast you're like "Whaaaat??? I pushed 5 hours?? Are you serious???"

I just came back from the well baby visits. Everybody is doing well. Both kids are above 80%ile with height and weight. Allie is 27,5 inches weighing 18lbs 15oz. Adam is 35 3/4 inches, weighing in at 31lbs 1oz. I had Allie get her first DTP and her second Hib. She didn't notice the HIb but the DTP, she didn't like too much.

@ Nessa: Yeah for Tricare, they pay everything. Someone told us they wouldn't pick up the food at the hospital, but they did. The hospital gave us food for me and hubbie!!! He roomed with us the whole time (there was a bed for him, he claims the worst mattress ever, but what did he complain about, he didn't push out our son!!!!!)

@ Evi: Great news! Jona is in the 99th for weight (23 pounds 12 ounces), 85th for height (27.3 inches) and 95th for head size (18 inches). BTW I am so happy with the cloth diapers. Prefolds and covers are just fine, all-in-ones are prolly easier, but I don't think necessary. I like Prowrap covers best so far. I'll go to the Bay area again tomorrow (niece turns two) and I'll go to Joanne's (we don't have that here) to get some 100% cotton flannel to make cloth wipes. I use the Gerber flats and they work better than commercial baby wipes. I bought a spray bottle and made my own "wipe potion" (boil water, steep 2 packs of chamomile tea in there and then I add some pure almond oil). It smells good and works just fine :)

@Anna: Yey for cloth diapers. Glad to see it works so well for you. I just can't get the hang of cloth wipes. I've tried a couple of times but the solution is always so cold (colder than a wipe would be) and I'm having a hard time cleaning up big messes with them. I rather stick to disposable wipes, even though then you have to look through diapers before you toss them in the pail.

Jona is a big boy, kinda like Adam back when he was little. I love chubby babies. There's nothing cuter than all those fat rolls.

My goodness Anna!! Jona is almost 24 lbs??? Zaid is 10 months old and 22lbs. I thought he was chunky, lol. Im right with Ev, the chunkier the better. Jona couldnt be cuter!!

Ev, They did break my water at 8cm and I still had 4 hours to go after that. I had such a LOOOOONG labor. Good to hear Adam and Allie are nice and healthy!!

Where has Kaylas mommy been? and Jalyns mom? the baby crew when zaid was born rarely comes around anymore!!

Carrie <<<hugs>>> I miss seeing ya here!!

Zaid is really growing up fast. He is almost walking, eating table foods, repeating words and taking commands. He ihas started this new thing throwing tantrums and does this "growl" thing when he gets upset. It just showed up one day, I hope it disappears soon.

Just thought I would pop in. I have had family in town since last week. The babies both started sleeping through most of the night on Thursday! Yay babies! It's hard to believe they will be 7 weeks old tomorrow!

I read about someone having placenta previa. I had a partial placenta previa that resolved itself around 20 weeks. It is pretty common. Just follow your doc's recommendations.

Welcome back. Glad to hear the babies are sleeping through most of the night. That seems fast to me (although I'm sure it doesn't to you!). Do they sleep in the same bed?

Thanks for the encouragement on the PP. I keep reading there's a 1 in 250 chance of having it, but I've run across so many people who have, at least two others in this forum alone. That makes it less scary.

Throughout the pregnancy so far, until two days ago, I had little or no appetite, and I'd lost five pounds from my prepregnancy weight. Yesterday morning, I woke up ravenously hungry, and it was the same today. It's like someone flipped a switch. I stocked up on nutrient-dense foods, trying not to let this get out of control. It also feels like the baby doubled in size overnight. I was vaguely aware of the bump (couldn't lie on my stomach comfortably anymore, and I've been getting the ligament twinges for weeks) but today I suddenly feel like everything has expanded upward and downward overnight. I read about a growth spurt around this time, but this is just weird.

I started talking to and singing (badly) to the baby today, but no response yet :) I also started looking at library storytime schedules and bilingual children's books online. I'm going to pick up a few of those so my husband and I can take turns reading to the baby in our respective languages from the start. Lots of big plans -- we'll see if we follow through when the rubber meets the road :)

Hey all! I went to my doctors today - my OB and the neonatalogist. All is well with both baby and me. My OB said that he will induce me the week of March 25 - so three weeks from tomorrow. OB said that he wants to take me at 37 or 38 weeks because he said diabetic women are prone to having stillborn babies if they go too far - which I definitely don't want to happen. I can't wait to be done with the pregnancy.
