I was wondering...how are training pants different than regular diapers? Adam can't pull diapers or pants up and down yet so I was wondering what makes the difference there?

That's why I decided to not do pull-ups. We started with Gerber training underwear, but then I moved to just naked bottoms because the girls can't pull their undies up consistently and I couldn't always get up to help them when I am nursing their brother. They have done great with that method, but I also now know that they have enough control to wait a little bit for me to help them pull down their undies before they sit on the potty, so probably next week I will go back to training underwear. We still use diapers for naps and bedtime, but I've decided not to do pull-ups at all.

Good to know that your son adjusted well to a 'big boy' bed. I think my girls will be really excited about them once they are set up. I just worry that they will be bed-hopping into each other's beds, but even if they do I'm guessing they will get over it pretty quickly because they are a bit territorial about their own cribs even though they share the same room.

Happy Birthday to your son!

KJandSH - Congrats! He is beautiful :)

Eveline - Happy happy birthday to Adam!

Well, I am Day 2 into Declan and hubby being gone. Dropped them at the airport yesterday afternoon. Went out with friends for drinks last night which helped. I am missing Declan a lot today. It is helping that my husband calls me a lot and I get to "talk" to Declan on the phone.

Chrissy - those BH Contractions kick my bootie everytime. I feel like I have to do lamaze-style breathing with them when they hit me.

Autumn - I know you'll miss Declan, but take this time for what it really is - a great big gift!

Girls!!

We went to visit the hospital today, it was so cool  . It's located just 15 minutes from my house and Sil knows 3 different routes to get there so that's fine. The maternity area was very nice, they showed us all the rooms, even the suites, and every area there, the staff was very nice too. We asked how many people can be in the delivery room with me if I have a natural delivery and they said 2 !!! so my mom and my hubby can be there with me.

This week we have to call the Insurance company to check how much a natural delivery and how much a C-section would cost, any ideas???. I have Empire- Blue Cross -Blue Shield.

Today we changed the baby shower date, is going to be on March 21st here at my home I promise plenty of pictures.

It's snowing right now, I hope that they cancel my work tomorrow, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Have a good night girls!

KJ that little boy is GORGEOUS - congratulations to all of you on the new addition :)

Nessa - that cramp you are talking about, could it be a braxton hick? When I was late in pregnancy and still working that would happen to me everytime I stood after sitting for a long time, I couldnt stand up straight for a minute or so but if I put my hand on my belly I could feel it really tight.

Happy Birthday to Adam!!

@Nessa: Baby might be putting pressure on a nerve or something. I don't think it's BH since those hurt kinda on top of your belly. My BH would start out from my ribcage down to my belly button (while 'real' labor - at least to me - was all over the place, pulling from my back to my lower belly). Maybe it's round ligament pain, that the ligaments in your belly strech. I'm sure everything is fine, it's just your body getting adjusted to what's ahead.

@Chrissy: Sorry to hear your masterplan failed  . I always have Adam run around bottomless (NOT A GOOD IDEA IN A HOUSE WITH 99% CARPET) or in training pants (cloth) with his Elmo Underwear. The other day he was naked and apparently peed but I didn't see where. Then - like a week later argh - I smelled a stinge and didn't know where it was coming from. I followed the smell (bad bad bad...sorry for the TMI) and saw that he had peed under the table. It's a coffee table that has another board toward the bottom of the table and he had peed on there...argh. It was bad. I scrubbed it with Clorox and the stinge is gone but you can still smell it a little bit when you are really close to the table. Gross.

@ Evi: Happy Birthday Adam! How did it go? Did he enjoy his cake? Yikes for peeing under the table, it's gross, but it made me laugh somehow. My sister apparently did the same thing when she was like 18 months. My parents always told it somehow funny, I guess those are the stories you keep telling your kid later on ;)

@ Vi: Well a natural birth will be way cheaper than a c-section (way more stuff involved - drugs, anesthesiologist, OR, all the stuff). Ask your health plan how much they cover, there's usually an estimate they can give you. We had a natural birth, but after birth they hooked me on Mg-Sulfate for 24 hours for an alleged 5% chance of stroke. That was my only intervention. I arrived on a Monday night and was released on Friday (they wanted to monitor me for my hhhuuugeee stroke risk and the copious blood loss I had). The bill was $25,000. Our health insurance paid every penny, but the insurance pays a way lower price - it's negotiated for them. I think they paid like 1/5 of what I would have had to pay without insurance.

@vi: i believe insurances are supposed to cover both c-section and natural birth the same, unless the c-section is elective, then you pay from your pocket. I'm sure you wouldn't want an elective c-section, right?
