Two more...notice he has the fork in his left hand? We think he might be a leftie! He does a lot with his left hand...but then once in awhile with his right, so we are still not sure.

Nizzy- yes, thank you!! :)

Oh Eman uses his left hand as well and will rarely use his right hand for certain things. I read somewhere that children are ambidextrous until a certain age but I'm not sure. Neither hubby or I are lefties....but then again my husband grew up overseas so he might have gotten it beaten out of him...poor kiddos...

oh and Kavi is so cute...I am preparing for Eman's bday on Feb 11th...we had so many birthdays this month (family members) and he is getting anxious and looking forward to his...

Nizzy yeah, I guess we will just wait and see what hand he really uses. :) Me and Suj are not left handed. My grandfather was but they made him use his right hand. My dad is ambidextrous with some things but not writing. Even I feel more comfortable doing certain things with my left arm or spinning to the left is easier for me(in past dance classes hehe). So we will see!

Hope his party is fun!! Three, yay!!

I don't know :( My son Joseph is still clingy and he's almost 5. It's just his personality I think. He's always affectionate and hugs me all the time and pulls on me. I usually have to find something for him to do or he is always up my butt. He doesn't give me a problem dropping him off at school though, which is good.

Jonathan used to be clingy like that but he changed at around 2 1/2.

Happy birthdays upcoming to Kavi and Eman! Cute Kavi pics :)

Yay for Anya having a boy!

Nessa .... Declan went through the separation anxiety phase around 9 or 10 months, I think .... didn't last all that long. I have noticed though, when he is sick, he is incredibly clingy and needy.

Declan is doing better today. I finally broke down yesterday and took him to the doctor, paid the co-pay, only to be told that I should keep doing what I was doing .... I figured I was doing everything, but it seemed like the virus was lingering (my co-workers and clients who had it said it was a 48 hour bug and he had been sick since Thursday).

@ Nessa: Like said, you never know, it depends on the child. Some are more independent than others...

Happy birthday KAvi!

I hope all the sick kids get better soon...

I was hoping for a girl, I only grew up with girls, I had no idea what to do with a boy... The day before my ultrasound I had a dream it was a boy and was pretty convinced, and the u/s confirmed it. I'm learning still about boys... For me it added a little stress in pregnancy as the whole circ issue came up, but hubbie came around to my side. :) I do notice a difference from my niece to Jona; he wants to rip every book apart while she looks at them. He's just a little rougher, though I doubt that's gender specific as my sisters were just like that. :P

Well...I called the peds office today because I had been unable to get Zak's fever down with tylenol. I spoke with the triage nurse and asked her if there was anything else I could do. His temp has been hovering around 102 for more than 24 hours. I was told I could bring him in today or wait and bring him in tomorrow morning if he doesn't feel better. Since I live so close, we decided I should bring him in today. It as a good thing. The poor boy had a temp of 102.9! But, that is it. He really doesn't have any other symptoms. The doctor examined him and was shocked his lungs were clear, his ears were fine, his throat and nose were fine. She said the flu is going back around (he has had all the shots) and they did a rapid flu test. That came back negative. So...the next thing to get a fever that high they thought he could possibly have a urinary tract infection. So...they cathertized the boy TWICE. They got very little urine out (even though I have been able to get him to drink easily). So, we sat in the office for about an hour with a urine bag on hoping they could get a sample. NOPE. (He had even drank half a sippy cup of juice while we were there and the other half before we left.) So, I am going to put another urine bag on and hopefully catch a sample to take to the lab tomorrow. He's going to get a blood draw as well. :(

Twila ~ did you try the baby Motrin? I had luck with that when the boys were babies. Sometimes tylenol just didn't cut it. Of course, all it will do is bring the fever down but it might make him more comfortable. Hope the little guy feels better soon!

Oh no, poor baby. It must be so hard not knowing what it is. Please keep us updated. I hope he feels better.

As said before, I'd recommend Motrin over Tylenol anytime, since Tylenol caused havoc with me!!!

Our local friend's daughter was running a 103 fever for two days, she was fine otherwise, so they decided to call our brilliant on call nurse on the base (we don't get to choose with military insurance). She said that unless the fever is between 105 or 108, don't bother to bring the kid even in. At 107 brain damage starts... And a fever of 103 for days isn't bad, I know, but it might be the precursor of something bad (though we were told by the first ped that if the fever hovers at the same temp, it's ok, it's only worrisome if it spikes higher and higher and that quickly). ANyways, I find it pretty odd though that they don't let her be seen with a high fever for days... Oh well government health insurance cuts corners everywhere... We were also told that they no longer pay for the organ ultrasound in pregnancy! So only the first ultrasound at 8 weeks and that is it. The 20 week scan is about the only ultrasound I care for as it is IMPORTANT!!! We knew a couple back in CA whose son had growths in his tubes from the kidney to the bladder, wasn't detected on ultrasound since military insurance already back then only covered the cheap scan with 20 year old equipment... He had full renal failure at 2 weeks, was in the NICU forever, and will now need a kidney transplant. Beautiful government insurance. I'd kill for Kaiser Permanente or Blue Cross.
