Kavi weighed 29lbs at the Dr the other day! He will be two soon. :) I was surprised because he was 27lbs two weeks ago when sick, but he wasn't eating a lot while sick. Now his appetite has increased so much which I am glad about. He is becoming a better eater, even just this week it changed. He usually would eat only a little here and there.

Sara-some friends of mine, their little girl weighed about the same at over 2 years old as your daughter. Amirah's hair has gotten long at least since the last picture I saw, she is so cute!

Happy Birthday to Hana and Zak! Happy bday to J&B's little one too!

I overlooked a birthday...Happy Birthday J&B's little one! Eman's is Feb 11th and this year he is REALLY into it and is so excited!

Oh and my cousin (after having suffered a miscarriage) is 14 weeks pregnant!! After growing up so close in age, it's so amazing to see all of us having little ones of our own.

 Welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope all goes well for you!

Happy birthday twins Zak and Hana! wow, time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it?

I just finished a 2 week internship on a pediatric unit. It was so nice to come home to a normal kid with (halfway) normal parents at night.... I don't know if it is because I am a mommy now or maybe americans are just crazier, but I don't remember seeing so many bad things happen to children in just 2 weeks back when I was a peds nurse in Germany.... Like a 12 month old with his 6th fracture from abuse, a raped 2 year old, and soooo much more abuse, I think when you have children it seems even worse. But it was very interesting. I have 1 week off before I have to go back and I am only 6 months away from my license... woohoo.

@Stina&Karen: so glad you guys could get together!

@Sara: wow your little one is such a cutie, I can't believe she has so much hair all of a sudden!

nope, this was a small ped's unit in the middle of nowhere in upstate NY. They ship the REALLY bad cases straight to Albany. I have seen stuff like that in Berlin but for some reason it really gets me harder now that I have Ben. It's just a crazy world. I do think that CPS works a lot harder and more effective here than in Germany. They have a casemanager there 24/7 who was awesome. But still terrible what some parents do to their children...

It was a real eye opener how much I stress over the little things sometimes.

Hi everybody,

Sorry I haven't been around lately. I went back to work last Monday and we are still trying to adjust. Our routine is working pretty well: I leave for work at 5:30, Sebas stays with daddy and he drops him off at day care between 8-9. Then I go nurse him at 11, and pick him up at 3. Sebas is doing really well, I expected a little more of an adjustment but he is just happy playing around with the toys. Being alone with the baby is making Justin feel more confident about taking care of him, which I'm really happy about. They have their little alone bonding time :)

Sebas had a cold this weekend, but he's good now...I caught the cold too so I'm home today with the little chubbers.

Also...Sebas is 4 months old today

I just started back to work as well. I leave for work around 8:30 and my grandma watches Adam until I come home to nurse him during my lunch hour. Then Dad watches him in the afternoon until I get home around 5:30.

It hasn't been easy, I'll admit. Especially for dad, but it's getting better. He's called me at work with Adam screaming and that's really hard to hear. I've asked him to try to not do that unless it's really necessary. I told him that it actually makes my boobs hurt if he calls me when he's crying (he thought that was so weird, LOL!). He starts to panic that something's wrong if Adam cries a bit when he gets the bottle or when he's tired. Things will get better as he figures out what works, I hope.

Adam doesn't love the bottle, so I'm pumping a lot more at work than what he's eating. I might have to get an extra freezer at some point. My grandma discovered that he seems to take the bottle much more easily if he's not held. She props him on his boppy and holds the bottle for him. Before it was taking over an hour for him to drink his little 2.5 oz bottle, now he drinks it in 15 minutes

Jenn, Adam is soo cute. Good luck with the transition. Zaid too didnt love to be held when he was eating. He was propped in his boppy for months.

Well were back from our overnigth getaway and Zaid LOVED it....He swam his lil heart out, made friends, and even behaved at Applebees last night for dinner and Dennys this morning for breakfast. We hadnt been out to a restaurant for months before this. Im glad to see his behavior finally changing. It was an expensive 24 hours but we will definitly do it again soon.

Jenn, if I'm late getting home after work, Jamal calls and says nothing, just puts Rayan on the phone to scream in my ear. Does the trick. :P I think it will get easier as Wadi gains confidence and learns what works through trial and error. Jamal's in the groove now, but I know it was stressful for him in the beginning. What works for him doesn't necessarily work for me, and vice versa.

My coworker told me she used to get a let-down if she was out in public and heard someone else's baby cry. Fortunately, that hasn't happened to me yet.

Kelly, glad you all had a good time. I'm really looking forward to water parks when Rayan's a little older. I'm always the "Big Bird" in line with the little kids waiting to throw myself down the slide.

I just discovered this thread and I see u guys already have 357 pages...it's amazing...

I'm currently 9 weeks 4dys preggo and will be getting my visa in the middle of my pregnancy...I've been thinking alot whether or not I should move to US while preggo,or deliver it Canada and then move to the US...I just don't like handling two major life changes at the same time, makes me very nervous....also don't like changing OBs,all the prenatal care that I've been taking etc...but my hubby thinks I should be in US...so we have a disagreement on it...

if you were pregnant when you got the visa, how did u handle it...did u deliver it in ur home country, then move to the US, or did you move while preggo...

perhaps hearing some experiences would help me to make my mind..

thnx in advance....
