I'm so ansious about this trip, now hubby is giving me aheadache about the luggage, he just wants me to bring one but I know thta I need two, C'mon I'm traveling with a baby,I need to bring alot of extra stuff for her plus all the gift she is going to get there, doesn't make sense to bring just 1 piece of luggage. Oh, I'm bringing a big backpack with all what I will need for the ariport and flight.

Vi ~ since you're buying a seat for Sofia, I'm pretty sure she will get one luggage free too so you shouldn't have to pay if you bring 2 luggages. Luis is packing right now he leaves Jan 12 out of JFK it's an overnight flight with a layover in Miami

Amna: I'm proud of you. this is one investment you will not regret girl! Just the only drawback is that you need an electric outlet near your changing station. There is none near ours, so I have to unplug the thin and carry it over, and sometimes forget to re-plug it. Also you got to remember to "water" the pillow at least weekly... I have seriously burned one before, because I totally forgot and didn't remember.

@Vi: what? I could never travel anywhere without 2 suitcases, let alone a baby... Ben had 1 bag, I had 2 when we went to Germany, plus 300lbs of (illegal) handluggage, we probably both had 4 bags each... All the things you will buy/or bring to your homecountry, your man is loco in la cabesa. lol. You know what, I bet your hubby is just scared that you won't come back to NY and he figures it is impossible for you to not come back with only 1 piece of luggage. My husband is always nervous when I go home, which is ridiculous of course, but putting myself in the position, I would be too, if my spouse would take my child into a foreign counrty... At least it will be warm in Peru, right? So you don't have to bring all the extra jackets/sweaters etc.

Chnst@ hahahahah I think that he knows that I'm coming back (am I?) hahahaha yes I am, I have to say that after living here for almost 5 years I consider this place my home and Peru too of course, it's hard to explain. Sil thinks thta I won't be able to manage all the luggage, 2 pieces + stroller + car seat + baby + backpack . Usually I travel with two pieces but 'cause is summer I'll be able to squezze everything in just one luggage(no sweaters or jackets) just light clothes. But of course Sofia is a different story I gotta bring so much extra stuff for her, it's a baby but you girls know how stubborn men can be.

Susita@I got an email from the passsport agency, I should be receiving the passport on Wednesday and as soon as I get it I'll buy my tkts and go bye bye nasty winter  . I thought that tkts were going to be cheaper but I'm surprise the prices still a little high, where did Luis buy his tkt???

Vi - where are you flying to? Do you layover in Miami and then on to Lima? I wouldn't worry so much about luggage - your family will be there to meet you, no? At least you will have help once you get through customs. Also, bring lots of $1s - that way you will have money to hand out for when someone helps you. :star:

We got his ticket on cheaptickets.com, he's flying American Airilnes on the way there with a layover in Miami and he has a direct flight on the way back via Lan Airlines. It was 532.70 with the taxes and everything.

He's actually not that excited to go, he's pretty upset that I can't go with him and he feels bad for leaving me here, pregnant with no help  He is such a good husband. I told him not to worry, I feel bad for his mommy she misses him & is so excited he's going. Next trip all 5 of us are going (OMG can you believe that? 3 kids... ahhhh!!) We also want his parents to come either next year or the year after his dad retires, that should be fun.

Oh & Vi for how long are you going? Luis is only going for 2 weeks b/c he can't get any more time off from work.

I'm looking for direct flights, the only airline that flies direct is Lan and I love it, it's overnight so it works perfect for me.

I'm thinking about going for three weeks, plenty of time to rest, see the family, go to the beach, the beach..... I'm dreaming about it!

My parents are going to celebrate SOFIA'S first b-day, they thowing her a big party, and knowing them it's gonna be awesome, she is the first granddaughter so you can imagine how excited they are about this trip. My father in law doesn't know about it, he is completely against it, but he is not the daddy, I wish I can see his face when he finds out thta I'm in Peru hahahaha, Sil is going to tell him when I'm already there. crazy man!

LAN was great... keep in mind with them you get 2 luggages free for each seat!

Luis's return flight is with LAN but the flight going there is AA. Not too bad a layover in Miami and they are both overnight flights. The prices through LAN directly are always super expensive check cheaptickets.com

You are very lucky!

I really liked being pregnant. I had a relatively smooth pregnancy. I did have morning sickness from about weeks 8-16 but it was over by lunch time everyday. I also had bad ligament/hip groin pains the last half, but still I liked being pregnant. It was the labor and then c-section part I wasn't very fond of. :P When I think of getting pregnant again(not sure when or if), I feel happy about the pregnancy part but stressed out about the last part...hehe.
