So Luis says I should go for it, splurge and buy the new expensive Medela freestyle breastpump. He just thinks it's a waste that you can't give it to someone after you don't need it anymore, only 1 mom can use it and it's such an expensive machine. Whatever... it beats what we would have spent on formula feeding.

I have never known any guy to be so involved with this kind of stuff other than my husband.

You can sell the pump, but the other mom needs to buy new tubing and shields and stuff... I mean when I rented the hospital one, they just give you a new set of that stuff, or even sterilize it... But the Freestyle is pretty fancy... Free hands pumping, woohoo!

@ chnst: Wow $13 must have been FRER or clearblue... Don't buy the blue dye tests, they tend to get evaporation lines which get your hopes up but mean a negative result... Pink dye is better.... FRER (first response early result) picks up pregnancies really early. I hear good words about Dollar Store tests too. I got myself the internet cheapies but if they ever give me a faint line I'll go to Walmart (ours is 24/7) and get myself FRERs and their box of 5 clear blue digital ones for $20. ...

Btw, here's the pic of the FRER when it was positive early on: DSC01359.jpg

Nessa@ Sofia is in the middle of learning, when she is doing something and we say no she turns around to look at us and stops doing whatever she is doing BUT I gotta say that it doesn't work all he time, soetimes she just doesn't listen. Now she is moving her head from side to side like saying no to us all the time, is so funny.

lol, that's cute. Meet my husband. He wasn't afraid of assembling the medela at 3am in the morning, sterilize stuff or handle anything else baby-related. Your boys are sooo cute by the way!

he just wants to make sure the boobies are well taken care of during the enforced absence from them.

OMG, LOL.

@Anna: duh.... It was a blue test. I guess it is negative and I was reading too much into it. I have a huge pack from Walmart now, I think they're pink and only about $3 each. I really have to restrain myself from peeing into a cup every time I go to the bathroom. haha. TMI sorry.

haha! You were pregnant with twins, so I guess your body made more HcG and you were able to detect it earlier. I was wrong the walmart tests are blue too. I did another one and could have sworn I saw a faint line but after 10 minutes it was completely gone. haha. I am crazy and soooo not patient.

Susita, I haven't read all the posts lately but saw you talk about the breastpump. Yeah go for the better one, double pump. I made the mistake of getting a single pump to save $ and it was not a good situation and was so tiring. I WISH I had gotten the double one.

Kavi has been sick. :( Was sick Christmas with fevers, we were away visiting family. His fevers left but then he got a bad cough. Went to Dr after we came back home and the Dr was worried he had pneumonia so we had to take him to the hospital for chest xrays and bloodwork. Not fun at all for Kavi. He also got antibiotic shots in his legs. We went back to the Dr the day after the xrays and such and he didn't have pneumonia(thank God) but got more antibiotic shots (they are painful according to the nurse). And now he is on antibiotics(liquid amox.). He is getting better. But I have a cold now too.

I wish you moms and moms-to-be a happy new year!!
