I love breastfeeding and am proud of being able to it for so long. There were so many reasons my mom didn't do it, and my grandmas had so little milk due to malnourishment... Boobs are made by God for breastfeeding, so I tried really hard to do it, it's the natural thing with all the antibodies and immunoglobins and so on. I'm glad I didn't have problems with low milk supply or such... I don't have issues with my health and was bottlefed, but there is no single person in my family with allergies, asthma or any diseases, so it's unlikely anyway. Jona is super healthy - so far he basically had nothing (swine flu was a fever for a couple hours, he had a cough once, a runny nose twice). I do believe that nursing plays a big role in his health! He's been playing with sick kids and licking grocery carts... We don't disinfect the house at all nor would I ever wash his toys with Clorox, simple water is all I wash them with, if ever.. Sooooo he has plenty of exposure to germs all the time... he is the healthiest kid I know.

@ Susita: Yeah, check ebay or craigslist for unopened pumps - I bet you can get a good deal!

I just really don't wanna know the gender next time, and then find out myself at birth (I don't want the midwife to tell me what it is, I wanna check). I feel like it is an extra reward... Let's see if I can do it and if hubbie can keep the gender to himself... :D

@ chnst: I didn't have problems conceiving Jona, but I'm charting to avoid currently... I find it so much fun and learning so much about my body and signs of fertility. I know it is basically impossible to determine the gender, but Shettles noticed that male sperm is quicker than female sperm, but less resilient, hence dies earlier. So if you have sex before ovulation, like about 48 hours prior to it, the likelihood of female sperm to be in the majority is better. Hence conceiving a girl is more likely. The o+12 method seems less likely to me, it's like having sex 12 hours after ovulation cause some women got lucky to conceive a girl that way. Then people talk about acidic foods, cause that way the climate of the cervical mucus stays rather acidic, which kills more of the less resilient male sperm and creates greater odds of female sperm reaching the egg... I still have a little time to learn more about it, but I guess we will give Shettles a try. ;) Anyway, I like looking at my chart and knowing when I actually ovulate, all those signs have been there all the time and I never noticed before!

wow, i don't even know when I ovulate... I would never know... I figure LMP+14 days... and we'll do our best for the rest of the month. I really don't care for the gender, I'd love to have another boy as much as I'd love to have a little girl... Therefore it has crossed my mind not to find out the sex next time. Hubby thinks it will be impossible for me to not know/or keep it a secret.... I can see how awesome it must be to find out at the time of the birth but on the other hand- we would like to prepare Ben for a brother/sister and it is nice to prepare ourselves for equipment reasons. If it is a girl she's going to have to be ALL pink!!

no, dumass

when do babies start to understand ''no''?

ditto with Ben. " No" is his favorite word, and standard answer to any question, but does he listen to it? NO!

He is better with "Stop" than no.

so even though it is 6 days too early, I did a pregnancy test today and I think I saw a half a faint line. very faint. Like 3 tiny dots. haha. But in my head it looked like a faint line...... So I guess I will wait a few days and repeat the test. arrrghh it is driving me nuts to wait!!! I want to know!

Anna: I bought it at Rite Aid yesterday while waiting for Ben's second round of antibiotic.... I don't remember if it was a first response, I already threw it out this am. It was $12. I am going to walmart today to stock up on the preggo tests, but we just got 3 feet of snow in the last 10 minutes.... I hope I will get there.

Happy New Years Mommies! Looking forward to all the new Babies of 2010. keep the babycorner going.
