Enzo started pulling up at 7.5 months. He'll stand for awhile and cruise around, too. One thing he stopped doing was pulling himself up and then falling backward hitting his head. OUCH!!! Now, he will put one knee down and then lower himself back to the floor. Smart boy! :P

Jona sat by himself at 5 month, he crawled at 9 months and walked at 12 months. Pretty average. He cruised as soon as he could crawl... The next months, he needed to train his muscles cause he's so heavy. :P

None of us were quick walkers... My sister didn't walk til she was 15 months. My nephew just started to walk and he's 17 months, but I know my sister doesn't believe in training how to walk, so that's why prolly. He also is super skinny and tall, that might have been hard for him as well to carry his body weight on his spider legs.

Caro: very cute!

yeah they tell me that he isn't starting to crawl, etc because he's so heavy. he should be 18.5 lbs following his growth chart in average at his age and he's 22 i think.

Staashi. Thats one thing I have never endured. Zaid is 20 mos and has never had a bump or bruise. He is extremely balanced which surprises me bc he is super lanky and tall with a big ol noggin. Guess I better go knock on some wood

Ben fell from his sitting position at daycare and had a bruise on his head. at home he hits his head constantly, sometimes he cries for me to rock him then he stops, but that's it, no bruises.

Thanks for the BF advice guys :)

I guess I'm going to have to get one of those double electric pumps since I'm going to have to bring it to work and do it on my breaks. I work for the gov't so I think they'll be fine with it. I have a really roomy SUV and an iPod so I can just chill out in the car and relax I suppose. There are hardly any areas where I can be in private inside so the car will just have to do.

The only thing is... those pumps are like $250 and up! Holy cow. Any ideas for it to be a lil bit cheaper?

I'd definitely get a medela double pump. yes, it's more expensive, but they'll save time and since you'll be using on a regular basis it's worthy.

Ben has pneumonia and we are now running the nebulizer 24/7 on top of his albuterol that he needs now almost daily for asthma. Screw breastfeeding, I think we did everything "right", bf, no BPA, organic food, spacing vaccines, using lead free paint and all that, now he has friggin' asthma.

His ped is also a little concerned about his latest lead level - it was 5, which is normal but since he has respiratory and GI issues it could be a little lower. :o Hmm we live in a 45 year old house, how are we excactly supposed to lower his lead level?

At least I am off for 1 more week and can baby him all day long.

So mommies.

With all the overwhelming amounts of toys from the holidays I have spent 4 days trying to find a storage type thing for a decent price. Today, after some advice from my brother.....I went to Aldi Grocery Store (the off brand grcoery store) and they had the 12 bin primary color storage organizers for 29$. They had them in pastel purple and pinks too. I grabbed one, brought it home and had it together in 5 mins, and filled the bins. We got 1.5 of Zaids 2 toyboxes in them and it has increased the space x10. I will go buy another one as soon as hubby gets home. Zaid loves the fact that he can now see each and everyone of his toys in each bin rather than shoved in a toybox. It was by far one of the best buys I have got in a long time.

PICTURE PLEASE LADY! We have a gazillion toys, including a huge tool bench and Thomas the train set. I am really overwhelmed with all this new stuff and we have al;ready left a ton at grandmas house.

You need to write a book. Your kid doesn't have bruises? You're kidding, right? Ben has been walking for 4 months now and keeps falling and bumping into things all the time.

@Susita: yeah the pumps are expensive, but they are worth it if you're planning on going back to work and pumping. I can recommend the Medela. If you're going to stay at home while breastfeeding, a single pump or even a manual pump will do. I really used my handpump more than the electric pump, especially when you want to go somewhere. But I was a stay at home mommy for 8 months, then went to school part time until he was 16 months.

@chnst: oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about Ben! That's good that you can stay with him. Hope he makes a full recovery soon

@Susita: yeah, don't even waste your money on anything that is not medela. I got an evenflo at the beginning thinking it looks like it can do the job...crapped out on me on the 4th day, just as my milk was coming in

Caro

Kel - That bin is awesome!!! I wish I had an Aldi's near here.

Stef - I understand how you feel. Sometimes I think, #######, I was so fricking overly cautious during pregnancy ... no food dyes, no lunchmeat at all even though I was dying for it, no sushi, no smoked salmon ... I took vitamins, ate amazingly healthy ... and Declan had health problems.

So scary about lead levels. Declan's was 8 at his check and we are testing again in February. What we did to try to remedy the situation because we live in a house built in 1900: tested everything in the house for lead, removed any furniture items that had lead paint (dad had given me some antiques that were guilty of that), painted the trim (the walls were all freshly painted). Basically, now it is recommended to NOT try to remove the lead paint, because that can cause dust, but instead try to encapsulate the lead. We vacuumed everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING and boy was that a PIA) with a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter. Regular vacuums without the HEPA filter push the dust around and make it worse. I wipe windowsills down weekly and focus on washing Declan's hands more often. I haven't done this yet, but I have a call in to the local water department to test the water. OUr pipes are actually all new, but I want to do that anyway.

Here is a link to a website in your state: http://www.health.state.ny.us/environmental/lead/

Hope this helps!
