Zaid has spent the past 3 months babbling "dada" "dada" "dada" over and over and over again, BUT i am happy to say it has now turned into MAMA and i LOVE IT

Aww, that is so cute :) I am still hoping Declan will say it soon. He is on a dada kick and says it all the time, between saying, hiiiii and blowing raspberries. Hasn't got around to mama yet.

BTW, Declan has the same piano that Zaid has and LOVES it .... pounds on it all the time.

@Chrissy: I don't think you're hurting the baby. Baby is in a bag of water. It might get tight and uncomfortable but first - I suppose - it'll get uncomfortable for you so you turn around before anything happens to the baby. I slept sideways half on my belly until almost the end of both pregnancies. Do you have a big pillow that you can stuff between your legs, maybe that'll keep you from rolling all the way over?

I would'nt worry about it though.

I'm back from my second OBGYN appointment. Baby's doing fine, strong heart beat at 166. No U/S though, just took my blood pressure, urine sample, heard the baby's HB, and done.

We have an appointment to tour a birthing center next week, so we may be switching anyways.

Saludos,

Caro

Sorry if this is TMI -- I'll spoiler it just in case.

Both yesterday and today, I've had a small amount of orange spotting, like mucus, not like bleeding.

This is similar to what I had occasionally between weeks 5 and 10, but I haven't had any spotting for the last five weeks, and since I'm into the second trimester, it makes me a little nervous. I haven't had any pain at all, except for the usual round ligament pain if I twist suddenly. However, I've had a chest cold for a week, and for several days, I had a strong, unproductive cough that made my abdominal muscles very sore, so I'm wondering if the extra straining from the coughing could have irritated the cervix. I'm going to give the OB nurse a call on my lunch break and see if she thinks there's reason to be concerned. The doctor expects me to start feeling the baby moving at any point, just that bubbly feeling, and I think that has happened on a couple of occasions, including yesterday, although it's hard to know yet. I'm not getting a bad premonition or anything, but I got so used to everything going smoothly for the last few weeks, so this makes me a little uneasy.

@Caybee: Where's your placenta located do you know that? My first thought would be that your placenta might be close to your cervix (if not even placenta previa) and the cough made little blood vessels open and you bleed. It might also be just old blood from back in the day. Who knows. I'd watch it and soon you'll hopefully feel your LO move around and that might put you at ease a little more.

I'm not sure where the placenta is, but that's something to ask them. They pointed it out to me on the last U/S (the one that was supposed to be the NT screen), but they didn't say anything about the location. Each time, they've said the cervix is nice and long and closed. Thank you for the suggestion.

Just ask. A placenta previa or a low lying placenta at your gestational stage is nothing bad. It should move up the further along you are getting. MIne was low lying early on but at 20 weeks it had moved upward toward the back.

@ Nessa .... Try not to obsess too much about tearing (I know, easier said than done). I worried too, but when I gave birth, I didn't tear much at all .... a few "roadmarks" as my doctor like to call them, but nothing that required stitches.
