We just always kept a close eye on zaid. I used electric outlet covers but thats about it. Anything hazardous I just moved up high. We keep the bathroom door closed at all times, he has stuck his hand in the toilet one too many times.

The only hard part we had with zaid was cat hair bc we have 2 cats. he would find the smallest hairball and shove it in his mouth. I vaccumed and swiffered 2 times a day for months

Yeah I didn't do much except the outlet covers. I just made sure I knew where he was at all times. If I was cooking I would give him something to do in the kitchen and if I used the bathroom I had him in there with me as well.

Zaid is soooo adorable! He is going to be a ladies man! lol...

We have done outlet covers, moving electrical cords, and I am going to put cabinet locks on the cabinet under the sink in the bathroom and kitchen. Other than that, we keep a pretty close eye on them. Zak is more likely to find lint on the floor and put it in his mouth. We have to constantly police the floors.

Nessa: After all it's your house and you know best what kind of proofing you need. I"m only writing what measures we took. Our bathrooms are upstairs and I hardly ever let the kids go up there by themselves (even though Allie knows now how to get back down). Adam has managed a couple of times to grab the shampoo and spill it all over the tiles...NICE

Anywho, there's things that don't interest the kids at all. Drawers, electrical cords, a molger shelf from IKEA etc...the kids don't care about at all and then there are things where they just won't keep their fingers from like kitchen cabinets and the computer desk.

Did I ever tell the story where Adam grabbed a bottle of paint stripper at LOWES, got the top off and bit through the inside seal? He was just about to take a drink when I turned around (we were arguing about what paintbrush would be best to paint our bathroom with  ) and snatched it out of his hand. That was the VERY first time that I got a little weak in my knees considering what might have happened. Other than that we never had a really dangerous situation *KNOCKONWOOD*

@Nessa: There's also agencies that do professional child proofing, but not sure if that's the way you want to go

Thanks Anna for your reply. I would appreciate it if you talked to your homeopathy group. We actually bought all of the test kits Lowe's has (the ones at Home Depot were #######) and I think I am going to order more online, as Lowe's still hasn't got more test kits back in! I have spoken to people at the state dept. of lead safety (thanks for the link to the website) and they have been helpful. We've taken steps to remedy the situation, I just hate waiting for another couple months before we test him again, not knowing if his levels have gone down. So scary!!!

About Santa - Last year, Declan was fabulous with him. Not sure how he will react this year. We are taking him to Santa's Village to meet Santa and see the reindeer. Maybe going this weekend.
