Nessa, I loved when we got diapers - we didn't have to buy any for about 3 months. It was a huge help!

Nessa I think that's enough, as Staashi said, that's a huge help!. I have a "diaper party" in two weeks, it's my friends second baby girl and she has everything for the baby so I just got a big basket an decorated it with tons of diapers that Sofia didn't used, I got alot of Johnson's products, washclothes, duckies, etc and I will decorate it with a big bow. I got this idea 'cause when Sofia was born my cousin sent us a similar basket as a gift and it was a great suprise

To me, clothes are a waste - the diapers and wipes were the biggest help.

Dipes are a good idea better than yet another receiving blanket. I'd buy in a bigger size because they will probably get enough newborn diapers. I went to a shower a few weeks ago and that girl got about 5 120boxes of NB diapers. I gave her unsolicited good advice and suggested to take about four boxes back because her babyboy probably won't fit in the NB for longer than two weeks. Adam used 1/2 of the little NB pack and was in Stage 1 diapers right away.

he's on size 4 for a few weeks already. they said that babies that are chubby take longer to crawl, maybe that's his deal. he rolls around, moves sideways and backwards but can't move forward.

Ask the girl though whether she wants to clothdiaper! One of my friends did clothdiapers from the beginning and never used one sposie, and she got like 10 boxes for her baby shower. She couldn't return all of them as some people didn't include gift receipts... Better make sure Cause for her it was a waste!

My SIL is due with her second baby girl in January and I'm making diaper covers for her. They are really expensive to buy (if it's the plain white ones, around $7 a piece) so she's really happy with that. As it is her second girl, they have everything else (baby one was in 7th gen diapers) - a billion clothes I'd guess!!!! She's having a shower that's called a sprinkle, cause apparently showers are only for first time moms?! Oh well

Diapers are a great idea for a shower gift. Between shower gifts and others bestowing their unused diapers to us, we didn't have to buy our twins any diapers until they were well over 4 months old! My sister had bought us outfits that were 18 months plus. It was great to have some new clothes for now.

BTW...we almost have 2 crawlers now...at 10 months! Hana has been scooting around on her back since she was 4 months old and was content with that. When she saw her brother crawling the last month she has sped up her crawling learning curve. Any moment now she will just take off. Then...Zak has been pulling himself up on his knees for the past week and a half. Well...he held on to my shirt tonight and pulled himself up to his feet. A whole new level of our home is about to be attacked!
