aaww can't wait to hear from Jenn! :)

Congrats Anya! at 5 wks all I had was bloatiness (like before I would have my period) - then 7 wks came and...morning sickness hit me like a truck full of yuckiness! and even if you don't get it, it's totally normal. There's really no size-fits-all for pregnancy: the range of what is normal is very, very broad

Nessa...mmm, good question. I guess I would make room in the restroom and lay down the changing mat (the one that came with our diaper bag). I have changed him in very small places. Or maybe I'll just change him in the seat, let him pee on the person sitting next to me so he/she will leave and I'll have the seats all to myself

Saludos,

Caro

HLM, congratulations! I like the name Zaine! sounds like you had a good delivery.

Jenn: congrats on your little one, I am so happy for you!

@Kelly: how did your midterms go? I am studying for 24 credits right now and I don't even know my name anymore.... I can't wait for christmas. wow I remember when you were pregnant and talking about the jungle animal theme for Zaids' room, and here we are thinking about a big boy bed. lol. I think we will wait with Ben until he finally learns how to sleep more than 4 hour stretches, I could not handle him climbing out of his bed.

It was freezing today and we had some snow, and I am totally unprepared for this, clothes-wise. I guess I have to go shopping for some more winter stuff. His coat is still too big, and his hat is too small now.

@Vi: I am sure you will go to Peru next year. It'll be so cold that by January your hubby will probably beg you to take him too. :-)

@Nessa: happy 6 months Ben! about changing in an airplane: I use the disposable changing mats from Huggies. I use one for 1 airplane ride, fold it up so the side that he lays on doesn't get "contaminated" if I have to change him more than once and then throw it in the garbage after the flight. I could not stand using a blanket or his regular changing mat because the airplane changing tables hang right over the toilet and they are really gross.

People get very offended if you change the baby on the seat or the floor on the airplane even if it is just pee... so you kind of have to use the nasty bathroom. I also took his pants off before we went to the bathroom to take as little time as possible.

@Karima: aww Ayman has changed a lot, I love the new pictures!

Ya Stef, seems like just yesterday the 5 of us were all waiting our turns to have the kids and now they are 1.5 years old! It is also VERY cold here. We bought Zaid a winter coat and hat from Carters (the one in the pic) and I love it. Its very warm and lined. My mid terms went ok. I wasnt as prepared as I needed to be but im sure high B's low A's is what I got. Your right about xmas. Im only taking 2 classes but with working full time its alot on my plate.

Good luck with your 24 credit hours. Thats an awful lot of classes!!!!!

Chnst@ I know, I'm in the city but is freaking cold, today was just a miserable day, cold, wind and rain all day long, and is going to be like this until Sunday. I have a feeling that I'm going in January, it's in the air, too many people wishing for this trip to happen, alot of good energy, I believe in it, I believe in my hubby, he is not going to dissapoint me hahahahaha. And I think that the bad weather is going to "help" him to say YES. He is even joking about it, he says that I' will probably want to come back in April. I just keep saying to myself "is going to happen, is going to happen, is going to happen"

Jenn Congrats!!! I don't have her as m friend in fb, I can't ait to see her post and pic

Caro@ When are you leaving? how long did it take you to get SEbas passport??? and Congrats for your team making it to the World cup!!!!

Girls yesterday I saw a nice winter jacket at BRUS, is $39 consider a good price???

@Kelly: I like Zaids' coat, it fits him perfect. what size is he now, a 2T? I love brown and blue, did the hat come with it?

@tngirl: I don't know any websites, but once you give birth, all the baby companies know your address for some reason and you will get diapers and diaper cream, coupons, parenting magazine etc in the mail.

@Vi: maybe Santa will bring you airplane tickets this year...

about the coat- I think $39 is ok, I am going coat shopping this weekend and I don't want to spend more than $40-$50, they outgrow everything so fast. Which Babies R Us do you go to? I love the big store on Union Square or the one in Yonkers because BuyBuy Baby is right across the road.

I wish there was a once upon a child store in NYC.

Stef. The hat didnt come with it but brown snow pants did and it was 40$ for the coat and pants and 8$ for the hat and gloves. The coat is a 2t. Most of Zaids clothes are 24 months or 2t. the prob we have tho is his waist is sooo teeny tiny that anything that doesnt have elastic or adjustable waist falls right off his behind.

I love once upon a child. I got zaids "play coat" there for 8$ and its a 65$ winter coat. Cant beat that.

HLM. Zaine is a boy right? I wrote that he was in my post but it seems that everyone else thought it was a girl. So confused!! Glad to hear ur getting some sleep!

@chnst: good advise about the disposable change mat...I'm trying to find it but I can't, but from what I read it's like one of those puppy training pads? Can I just get that if I don't find huggies'?

@Vi: We're leaving tomorrow! We paid quite a bit of money for an expedited service that got the passport to us in 24 hours. hectic, but we got it done.

Saludos,

Caro

well, i don't know what kind of airplanes you girls have been traveling, but the ones i went to brazil have a tiny restroom, there's no way i could place him on the floor and change him. the only solution i can think is having charles stand up and use the 2 seats to change, unless they have a changing table, which i haven't noticed

@Nessa: lol, before I had a kid, I never noticed it either, but most planes have a changing table that is folded up right above the toilet. I never knew that there was laundry detergent for babies either.... all these things you are so oblivious to before parenting...

@Caro: yeah I guess that will work... anything disposable that acts as a barrier between baby and the changing table is fair game in my opinion... :P I bought the Huggies mats at Babies R Us, somewhere in the diaper/wipes section. have a safe trip- how long is the flight to Argentina?

@Kelly: There is a Once upon a child in Danbury CT, which is 30 or 40 miles from us I think. With all the stuff I want to get rid off, maybe I will make a trip up there.

happy weekend to everyone.

@ Nessa: It is usually not in all restrooms, but only certain ones. On Lufthansa and United Airlines it is towards the back, a slightly larger room with a changing pad (Koala Baby like). The Huggies pads are sold at CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, Kroegers and Safeway or online. Puppy pads are even better or Chux pads, they are bigger. You really wanna cover that area, it is really hm germy.

@ chnst: We got a snow bib really cheap at Target. The coat we got from Janie and Jack, it prolly was an arm and a leg, but godmother got it for us ;)

coupons: just give your name and address at motherhood maternity, they sell it to everyone if you are interested in free diapers (you get about 5), diaper coupons and formula samples. Unfortunately, no free Medela products. There was nothing usable for us. We just got formula and the Parenting magazine, we donated both to local charities. I don't like the magazine, I pay for Mothering and breastfeeding worked out for us. But formula is expensive so donating seemed right. Ordering at diapers.com gets you some freebies like diaper rash cream (aquaphor brand I think).

Woohoo Jona slept 8 hours last night, I am amazed. He is down to 4 nursings a day which is kinda sad :( My little boy is growing up. He's far from weaning, but just 2 months ago he barely ate any solid foods! He' still picky but started some sweet potatos and chicken now. He only likes Earth's Best stuff... Oh well, I am really picky too so I'm not too surprised ;) DH isn't exactly an eat-it-all either ;)

Thanks for the quick replies... I just wondered coz i didnt want to spend on products just to 'try' them.

I just found out I'm preggy and I am still in shock and slightly in panic mode. This is my first baby, thank God it's not my husband's first so he is good at comforting me when I am stressed and worried.

I tried reading all the post here so hard to catch up... LOL, if you girls have any tips for me... I would really really appreciate them.

Thanks again.
