I really wanted a vaginal birth. There are good things it can do to help with abnormal pap smears by pushing out the abnormal cells along with the baby. I was insistent if it was at all possible, that is what I wanted to try to do. The babies had a different thought in mind. From 26 weeks on, Zak was breech and Hana transverse. They never changed (even though the u/s tech at the hospital had told me she had seen twins turn positions even right before birth). So, my MD had me prepared from then about the possibility. I think that helped me be at peace with it. I still did feel cheated of that aspect of the birth experience, though, since I don't intend on having more children. You kind of forget all of that when you see the picture below. :)

Twila, the pic is absolutely adorable!!!! I didnt know that about abnormal cells and a vag birth. I had regular paps my whole life and after I had Zaid I had 3 abnormal before it went normal again. Not sure that it was linked to giving birth/being preggo however coincidental if nothing else.

@ Zaidsmommy: That is strange. Did the doc tell you what exactly was abnormal - don't they mean precancerous cells by that? I remember though that my midwife mentioned that it is not uncommon to have abnormal smears after baby. When I have more time, I gotta read up why.

Dh's squadron played paintball on Friday and he sort of sprinted into an obstacle. Once he stops hurting it will be really funny. He's quite bruised, but actually won his group the game, yet at the BBQ afterwards everyone was making fun of it, it must have been quite a picture. Oh well. I'm glad my parents are here cause currently he can't really lift Jona that much (29 pounds now and super wriggly!).

Oh btw yesterday I did buy some Carter's PJs, they were $10 each there minus $10 off coupons... So I spent like $36 on 10 pieces :D

I learned that about the pap smears from a gynecological oncologist. I have had abnormal paps, colposcopies w/biopsies, and even a leep with cone biopsy. Everything came back pretty minor. However, the cone biopsy took out a pretty good chunk of my cervix -- why my twin pregnancy was considered high risk from the beginning. I had had two normal paps before becoming pregnant (yay) and then an abnormal pap at my first ob appointment. So...she sent me to the gyn onc for a consult (and to make sure everything looked ok) because they obviously are not going to biopsy you while pregnant. She is the one who told me to try for a vaginal birth as it would push out any bad cells (if they were there) during delivery. Just remember: hormonal changes and minor infections can cause abnormal paps. I think that is why I got one during early pregnancy. There were a lot of hormones running around in my body during that time. I have been good since. Which reminds me...I need to make an appointment for a follow-up. :)

Well, the papologist said that they werent abnormal they "just werent right" and they wanted me to come 2 times a year instead of 1. They said there could be alot of things that caused it but there was nothing to worry about. I had a normal pap about 5 months ago and dont have to go back for a year thank god.

I'm really upset about the carters jammies. I bought the 24 months sizes because they were huge, way bigger than the ones he is wearing now. I just took them out of the dryer and they shrunk so much I doubt they will even fit. :(

Return them to the store that you bought them. They should take them back.

Since we talked about shrinking cheap clothes just the other day...I also have one t-shirt that came out of the dryer all shrunk up. Also a Carters Shirt...bought at Babies R us..Adam can still wear it but it's a lot smaller than it was when I bought it. It's almost too short for his big buddha belly :).

as for jammies...still rooting for children's place.

This is too funny, I was going to post something about clothes shrinking and I'm reading that some of you had the same problem. Yesterday I went to do laundry and went I tokk Sofia's clothes from the machine, 70% of them shrunk, I'm so upset!!! I put dried them on MED TEMP, for about an hour,=(, I guess next time I should go for LOW TEMP right???.

The thing about children's place is that are a bit uncomfortable 'cause of one the legs is not open.

My only complaint with some of the Carter's pjs is that some of the fabrics tend to pill a lot. It drives me crazy.

Hey everyone!

I haven't had much trouble with carters clothes so far, didn't shrink a lot for me. First time I washed them I did it on cold water, maybe that made a difference?

We had our 1 week appointment today, Sebas is almost back to his birth weight, and that's even with my milk coming in on the 5th day. What a hungry little guy I have lol :star:

New reflections on the csection:

For having a csection, I really had it as good as it could be. They didn't strap my arms. I felt nothing - not even pressure (That anesthesiologist is my new favorite person in the world!). I didn't smell cauterizing smell. The chatter I heard was optimistic and reassuring. They allowed Justin to be with the baby at all times and bring him to me as soon as he was clean. I started breastfeeding in the recovery room. Baby has been doing great from the start: first apgar 8, second apgar 9 and we were able to room-in with him from the beginning. I didn't get staples but the type of stitches that dissolve on their own (I heard the staples hurt).

Focusing on the positive :)

Saludos,

Caro
