I agree with you Jenn. When the babies were first born, they LIVED in Gerber pj's because their newborn size was smaller than most other newborn sizes and larger than preemie (that is right where my duo were). I think they work great for when your baby is inbetween sizes.

@ caybee: We have used the Bornfree bottles occasionally (up to 4 months once a day I pumped so DH could feed Jona) and they worked wonderfully for us, no leaking at all.

You can get Carters stuff way cheaper in their outlet stores, you get coupons there all the time too. We have one 45 minutes from here, there's also a Gymboree, Oshkosh and StriteRide outlet. We mostly get his stuff there.

We just started PJs. He always wore a onesie and a sleeping bag (still using the sleeping bag). It's so hassle free and safe.

yeah but once you use it for an older infant who throws them upside down in the car they leak. same thing with the born free sippy cups. We have so many stains on the backseat, I wish I had switched to another brand sooner. Which reminds me to finally get the car cleaned. :P

happy 6 months Sofia!

teething: Ben's teeth are coming in just like Zaids! He had 8 teeth (4 top, 4 bottom) forever then all of a sudden his molars started to grow and now his gums are swollen where his incisors will be (hopefully soon). I agree, the toughest time was when his gums were swollen.

Ben just called me a "silly noodle" lol. Apparently his grandma taught him that when she was watching him.

@Chnst: I agree with the born free sippy cups. I got rid of mine because Adam kept shaking it and whatever was in there would just fly everywhere. It was fine with water but chocolate milk....nooooo.... we got all Gerber sippys now.

@Anna: You talking about Gilroy outlet? I loved it there...I have blown many many paychecks down there

Thanks guys! I feel a lot better knowing that we're not the only ones that have these feelings after going through a csection - Thanks Christina for bringing it up :)

And thanks for all the nice comments about Sebas - I agree he's a keeper

Saludos,

Caro

Sorry I only now read the newer posts. You are welcome! It's not an easy subject and it's good for new moms to know their feelings are felt by many!! :)

Me and Suj had our 5th wedding anniversary yesterday! I can't believe I have been on VJ for longer than that! Woah!!

Kavi only weighed 6lbs 2oz in case that makes anyone feel better who thought the baby's big size was the only reason for the c-section. I just couldn't dilate past 7cm, and had horrible back labor (didn't get the epi until over 24hours of labor). He was facing my stomach instead of the optimal way- he was "sunny side up" they said. My water had broken overnight and we didn't know when exactly(long story hehe with me sitting on a toilet at home all night as my only place of less pain to sit and no gush of water happened) and there was meconium found when I was finally admitted at 7cm LOL - so later in the day since I was still 7cm, c-section had to be done for the health of Kavi. And he came out a small baby! I wonder what would have happened to me and Kavi in the old days. I had to be on oxygen all night following the c-section and had fluid in my lungs and didn't have a good oxygen blood level. Without technology me and Kav both probably would have died or had been seriously damaged. So I am also thankful for medical technology as I know we all have been! :)

Hey ladies...hope everyone is doing well; babies growing and doing well....

CARO- CONGRATULATIONS SISTER!!!! your babyboy is soooooo cute!!! welcome to the world Sebastian :luv:

I'm doing well...1 cm dilated and head is in the pelvis... everything is here and ready except the crib we still have to put that together...bag is packed tho...I still think I'm going to be overdue I dont know why. anything is possible hehehe

Reading everyones experience has been very interesting!! It's funny how at the end of the day there is no single/solid rule about pregnancy or labor everyone truely has their own story to tell! Thank you for sharing ladies :star:

Anyway, my plan is just that, a plan. I would like to avoid an epidural, but I know that things might change. And not knocking c-sections at all - a healthy baby (and mama) is the only important thing, but I would also prefer to avoid that if possible. I do realize that things might change, but don't we all go into it having some idea of how we would like things to be?

My thoughts exactly! Wishing you all the best sister!

HLM you are really in the homestretch now - I cant remember if you ever said you had decided on a name?

is your mom here now?

I cant wait to see the post that your new little man is here - you and then Jenn, how exciting!

My mom is finally here :) thnx for asking sara! it was nervewrecking knowing she cant speak a word of english but she made here safely thank God. She said there was so many helpful ppl in the airport.

We did decide on the name after a long struggle, I will reveal it with his picture posted hopefully soon :innocent: I have a very small belly to most ppl I met they thought I was in my 7th month LOL but my mom said she had a smally belly when she was pregnant with me so Im estimating my baby around 6 lbs...that's how little I was when I was born and she was 2 weeks overdue!!! LOL makes me think Im going towards the same path.

@HLM: You are more brave than I was. I heard all these horror stories about twins coming early. So we had the nursery ready pretty much at 27 weeks. It was a good thing as I was put on bedrest at 28.5 weeks. When my mom came over, she did the final things for me like putting the bedding in the cribs and hanging the items on the wall. I am excited for you and hope to hear of a bouncing baby soon!

AFU: Our son seems to like NOT sleeping lately. He was wired and up to almost nine last night. We have heard him up and talking off and on since 5 am. No wonder he wakes up every morning with little bags under his eyes.

Granddaughter decided to do a flip a week before she was born, begged my daughter-in-law to get a C-section, do a bikini cut, can't barely see the scar. If the kid gets stuck with oxygen deprivation, and doesn't die, you can end up with a retarded kid the rest of your life. She had the section, recovered very rapidly, and a very healthy smart granddaughter. I have seen the opposite, terrible stress on the parents with a retarded child.

At eleven months, she was still crawling last week, was watching her, she leaned back on her right knee, put her left foot on the floor in front of her, stood up and started walking. Now walking all over the place. Did all this on her own. When they are ready, they do stuff like this. She doesn't like grandpa to carry her anymore, wants to walk.

@Twila: I loooooove the new picture. Your munchkins look like a poster from a clothing store..so cute.

My parents and grandparents would have preferred me having a c/s with Allie too. My mom is an OR nurse, she sees c/s all the time, at least once a week. I stopped talking about that issue to them. Everybody was worried but in the end it all worked out fine. Allie was in the right position thoug. I guess with a breech baby I would not have even attempted the VBAC. It doesn't matter if you see the scar or not..that was the last problem. It's just hard to care for a newborn when two days before your abs had been cut through. Know what I mean?

@ Evi: Gilroy is pretty awesome, but a bit far now :D We go to Colorado, Loveland Outlets. It's about 1/10 of the Gilroy size, but still decent. Har Gilroy.... I got Pea in the Pod dresses there for $6!

Just yesterday we went to CO one last time, my parents wanted to buy some stuff for themselves... It's like a ton. ;) I loved a coat at Wilsons Leather Outlet, but of course, only 3 sizes above me were left. :( That happens all the friggin time. At least I got lucky at Ann Taylor and the shoe place...

We really have good experiences with the Born Free stuff. Recently, the sippy cup leaked a little and I exchanged the nipple and it is fine again. Jona just bit it over and over as a game and that made it leak. I also bought a cheap NUK sippy cup, but that is more prone to leaking. But he only drinks water or chamomile tea anyways - a fairly recent development-, so no biggy if anything leaks.

My parents have been here for three weeks and on Friday I have to take them back to the airport... It is so nice to have them here. Jona adores them. They take him to the playground every day and he loves it. They taught him stuff like how to get a plant of dandelion and blow it....

Hm as for breech... My sister's friend (MD sister, her friend is a MD also) had a breech baby vaginally. That wasn't a VBAC though, was her first. In Germany usually you are given a choice between csection or attempting vaginal births. But it depends on what sort of breech the baby is (certain positions are really hard). She and her baby are fine. The key in this case is good monitoring cause if a problem arises, a csection can still be done, and for her being a MD I'm sure she knows about benefits and risks. I highly doubt that obgyns in the US attend breech vaginal births for lawsuit reasons.
