no I would definitely not spend $50 on an outfit, just saying that the sales racks have some great deals most of the time.

about the hitting: Ben doesn't hit much, most of the time he is just tired or frustrated because I don't understand what he wants. Then he slaps me or digs his little fingernails in my arms. I try to make him feel compassionate about it and start "crying" and tell him he hurts me and that he needs to say sorry and be nice. He immediately gives me a kiss and starts crying too because he can't stand to see his mommy sad. haha. it works. I hope it doesn't get much worse but pretty much every toddler I know is in the hitting- and temper tantrum stage right now.

autum: yes we have that appointment and they will call us if someone cancels or something comes up sooner.

Hi all...

no I would definitely not spend $50 on an outfit, just saying that the sales racks have some great deals most of the time.

Same thing with Kavi...it kind of surprises me sometimes because he will hit and it's like woah what on earth do you think you are doing Kavi?? I don't mess around! And it's hard when you say "my kind won't do that stuff" and suddenly you see they are doing it and you don't know why! It's an unavoidable kid thing!! AHH! But the sad face and crying face from me has worked too. :innocent: He is pretty good and in stores he is fine up until a certain point, then he is bored in the cart which I guess I don't blame him and he just wants to run around but I don't let him unless it's a very safe zone.

Here's a pic of him from Friday evening at a local beach. :) He liked making noises at the birds like beep beep(his way of chirping) or keek keek lol.

As for Halloween. Adam and Allie are going to be Hansel and Gretel. I got Allie's dress and I"ll make her an apron for it. Adam has little lederhosen and he'll get legwarmers all 'baravian style'. They gonna be so cute.

you HAVE to put up some pics of that, it sounds so freaking cute I can barely stand it already.

And Stina, Kavi is super cute these days~

so maybe Caro is out having a baby now??

Ayman is at the point of hitting and major tantrums anytime he doesn't get his way too. He is even into the "mine" stage now. He loves to tell me "no" all the time as well as "baraka" (which mean enough!). He also has an obsession with going "bye bye", the car keys and ice.

Stina - Kavi is so cute!

I hope congrats are due for Caro soon!

Back from 39w4d appointment. Still 1cm, 70% effaced, baby's head's at -2. Looks like I'll be joining the overdue crowd. Awesome...not

:crying:

Just thought I would post this for you ladies. I got it from another pregnancy forum I'm a member of. I notice it doesn't have any links proving the validity of the statement but figured you all could check it out for yourselves if you were really interested.

Warning on fenugreek - just found this out. Fenugreek is part of the peanut family and can trigger peanut allergies. (Peanut proteins transfer through bm and can trigger a reaction in your baby)

what's with the name change, booty?

I'm not really posting on VJ anymore. I just come on to read this thread from time to time. I figured I didn't need a "name" to do that so I changed it.

Why? :(

Saludos,

Caro

I kind of, grew out of VJ, I guess you'd say. I don't have any reason to hang around anymore. Plus, I do have my hands full with two little boys. I still like to read this thread though because I learn lots of things. I don't usually have anything to contribute so that's why I just read.

BTW, good luck Caro! I hope things are moving along for you now and it goes well.

I do actually have a comment today though. The boys have outgrown NB clothes in the last couple of days. We are moving on to 0-3 month stuff and some of it is getting too short. It's amazing how fast they grow. I just packed up a whole box of their clothes. I'm probably going to donate most of their preemie stuff to the hospital where they were born. We buy most of our clothes at Walmart, the Garanimals stuff. I love it. It's pretty good quality and it's not expensive at all, especially when you're buying two of everything. I also like the equivalent at Target. I just can't bring myself to spend a ton of money on things when they are only going to wear it for a couple of months, if even that.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Hope to hear from Caro soon :)

About the clothes - my mom likes to buy Declan clothes from Kohl's. Apparently, she goes on senior discount day and gets good deals :) We don't have a Kohl's near us, but I have liked what she has bought.

I am sick :( I've had to spend all weekend with my germy self watching Declan because Ron has biology and chemistry quizzes this week and wanted to study. I am praying Declan doesn't get sick.

I agree with chnst, you get awesome deals at the expensive stores at the sales rack. I once bought 12 pieces at Gymboree for $24. Janie and Jack has stuff for $4- $6 a piece on sales racks... to us, it is so worth it. We bought once stuff from Gerber and the Sears brand. After three washes, it was malformed, meaning super wide and short. What sort of baby fits in that!

Looking at our finances, we recently saved so much money! The first 6 months we uses disposable diapers and spend $100 per month on them. Eversince I invested a little under $200 in cloth diapers and nothing more... Quite cool :)

Jona stopped biting, he doesn't hit and gets very upset when I leave the room. We try to make it easier on him, someone always holds him when I leave and explains to him that I'll be back asap. No tantrums yet, but he's too young for that I guess. He loves walking, he can do a full yard now and it is so cute cause he gets all excited and claps his hands and hence looses his balance... :)

I hope Caro's labor is going smoothly and uninterruptedly :)

I'm sticking with Garanimals. 3.50 Dollars for a shirt is unbeatable. Whenever I have a chance to get to Gymboree I go but I only buy what's on SALE. I got Allie's birthday dress for 6 Dollars. It was reduced from 32 Dollars so I couldn't say no

I think I've set a trend this year to go MIA because too much stuff going on in RL. Gran passed away on Thursday and for 2 weeks prior to that I think I have spent hundreds of $'s on phonne calls. I'm not allowed to go to the funeral because quote"Henry is too young", apparently it's bad luck for young babies to goto funereals; for the baby that is. So I am stuck at home twiddling my thumbs while my family are running around being their bi-polar selves. One minute it's all tears next minute they're laying into one another for some stupid reason. I'm glad TBH that I am not there. Not something I relish when they all get together. I just wish I could have seen Gran one more time.

@Missbollinger: I'm so sorry to hear that. I guess it's better for you to stay away from fighting family..it makes me feel so helpless when everybody is fighting as I rather want peace than all that stress. All the best to you.

@Chrissy: Yay for healthy growing babies.

Ev, I love the garanimals pants and tees. Your right about 3.50$ Cant beat it!! I think its odd that everyone says the clothes fall apart/fade/etc. I have never had ANY problems with any clothes I bought, regardless of how "off brand" they were. Maybe I have a magic washing machine lol.

Zaid will be spending the night at my aunts on saturday. We have a wedding to go to and she offered, so I didnt hesitate! This will be only the 2nd night he has spent away since he was born so Im hoping not to be toooo paranoid like I was last time lol!! It just doesnt feel right waking up in the morning without him. I guess one night wont hurt. Mommy and Daddy sure could use the one night for "us" time :)

Today is the hubsters 27th birthday, odd to think when we met he was 21! seems like so long ago. I bought him a birthday gift from Zaid, its a chain link thick bracelet that says "Abu Zaid" which is "Zaids Father" in arabic. He LOVED IT!!
