I'm sure you're missing your MIL Staashi - how's little Enzo doing these days?

Che, Caro, he's doing well...he's just missing his Nonni big time and vice versa. I think they're like two peas in a pod. He comes home and I know he's looking for her there and can't find her - it makes him so sad. We're grateful for her time here and she'll probably be back by February, but it's a long ways away for the piccolino. Aside from that, he's getting so big and now has his two bottom teeth - they're almost in...just a little more, but ouch!

Justin got a Chicago Bears onesie for Sebastian - it looks like a real jersey, it's so cute! it's this one (some details are lost in the picture)

PAAAIAHJCGADIHPM.jpg

He got the Urlacher tshirt because apparently...on our last U/S the baby measured 9 lbs

My midwife said she would be very surprised if in fact he is that big, and explained about the margin of error in U/S and all that...I hope she is right! :help: But in the meantime, it made Justin start the joke that he's our little linebacker :luv:

Anyways...Hoping the little linebacker comes in time for Saturday's Bears game

Saludos,

Caro

Glad to hear Ben is feeling better, Nessa. Love the new pic!

@ Poop - The other day, I was giving Declan a bath and he pooped A TON in it. So gross. Luckily, hubby was home so he came and got Declan and washed him off in our upstairs bathroom while I scrubbed the tub.

Stef - Good lord, girl, you have been through so much with Ben's doctors .... have you found another one yet to get a second opinion? Off topic, but are you going for a bsn in nursing?

We went to NYC on Sunday to visit my college best friend who I haven't seen in years. Overall, it was a great trip. However, I do NOT recommend putting a rambunctious toddler on a train for nearly 2 hours!!! We took the train from New Haven CT in to Grand Central, thinking it would be easier than driving in. However, in the car, Declan is buckled into his carseat and can't move, whereas on the train, he knew he could move so he wanted to run everywhere and climb (and the train was CROWDED!!!!). On a side note, I thought of Nessa on the train, because there were tons of people in Brazilian jerseys .. apparently, there was a big Brazilian festival.

Anyway, we visited my friend's apartment, went to eat at a kid friendly bbq place, then walked to the Central Park Zoo. By the time we got there, Declan had fallen asleep, so we skipped the zoo and just sat and talked. Later on, we went to a great playground by the East River.

And I'll tell you something else...I've been having on and off contractions for over a week. They used to call this "false labor", now they call it "practice labor"...like that's supposed to make me feel better. It's not my body playing a cruel joke on me, it's that my uterus is "exercising" WT...???? <_<

@ Caro, hope there's a birthday very soon! Yeah, um, I figured the nine-pound ultrasound estimate was probably inaccurate also ;) Wishing you an easy and joyful delivery. I'm so excited for you.

We're dealing with gas, poor thing :( The drops seem to help some, and Rayan likes the taste. Bending and bicycling his legs gives him some relief but doesn't usually get the bubble out very quickly. His nursing sessions tend to be very long, so I'm learning to burp him every five or ten minutes, but we both tend to doze off when he nurses at night. It breaks my heart when he's lying peacefully in my arms and suddenly squirms, looks at my face, and screams. Sometimes more nursing is the only thing that comforts him.

Have you evaluated your diet to see what might be causing him gas? One thing that I know does it big time is dairy - you give up dairy products, his gas might go away.

Staashi and Ms. Squirrel, no, I haven't evaluated my diet per se. It's difficult to get him to burp, so I assumed I wasn't sticking with it long enough or frequently enough. I haven't eaten many nuts lately, but I've had milk and cheese. I can cut dairy out for a few days and see if he improves. Thanks for the advice. We've found that the swing does calm him down a lot, as does comfort nursing (basically just curling up with me but not drinking much) so maybe the stress of the initial discomfort builds on itself also.
