Nessa, I have a Baby memory book and haven't even opened it! It's a good thing that it's not as fancy as yours, since at this rate I will probably get around to writing in it when he's all grown up!

Ilyas is now 6 months old--we had his check-up yesterday and he tipped the scales at 15 pounds, 2 oz.!

I have a book like that for both kids and for Adam I also have a scrapbook but it's only filled in until his 8 months...I didn't have any time and willpower after that to keep going. For Allie I wrote a diary of my pregnancy with her and I also try to update that babybook for her. Have to put the dates of her two teeth in I guess.

I just spent 55 Bucks on three diaper covers and one All in One Diaper. Holy moly, so expensive but they are really really cute. I had to have them PLUS they are 8-40lbs, so they should fit allie until she's out of diapers. The all in one diaper I got is in blue so Adam can wear it too.

my mom bought 3 sizes, small, medium and large, in brazil plus 30 cloth diapers. she said it cost around $50 everything.

when i asked her to buy, i thought i'd have a hard time finding in the States and it would be easier in brazil. but apparently in brazil is not easy anymore, everybody is using disposable nowadasy.

My mom got me started on diapers too. I started out with flats and just regular vinyl covers and kinda worked my way to All in Ones or at least fitteds with diaper covers. Lots of Mommas here are using cloth and there are TONS of sites out there that sell stuff. I didn't know what to buy and was about to order off of ebay yesterday (much cheaper) and then I found that site with those cute covers and I just HAD to have them  . Honestly, with all that stuff out there, I don't even know if I saved money on diapers in the end. I guess so, since we're buying store brand diapers and use cloth but I spent so much money on covers already...it probably adds up to 300 bucks by now.

I believe you. I couldn't wait to wash, fold and stack either. It's nice to be able to do something instead of just wait for baby to arrive. I can't believe you are already 31 weeks along. I remember you posting here that you were expecting.

I'm so sorry to hear that Tracy. I can only imagine the pain of losing a child. I have a friend here. She had three miscarriages at around 9 weeks. She became pregnant again about three months ago. She told me and we were so happy and she told me that she had miscarried before but that this time it is different. She felt nauseous, gained weight etc. I saw her at a German-People Meeting a couple of weeks back. She was there with her DH and she held her belly a lot and told me all excited that she was almost 10 weeks along and baby was doing great, no cramping, bleeding etc.

Then about a week later she had an US done and her baby's heart had stopped beating at around 8 1/2 weeks. When she told me she was almost 10 weeks along, her baby had been dead for a week. I just bawled when she told me about it. I feel so sorry and what's even worse is that she doesn't have the money for a D&C here in the US so she went back to Germany to have it done (it's covered there). She is now almost 13 weeks and hasn't miscarried naturally. she went to Germany on Thursday to have the D&C done. It is devastating and I feel so bad about complaining that Adam is whining, Allie is crying etc. and she just wants a baby and keeps losing her kids. It's just not fair. :crying:

Tracy and Eveline...I'm so sorry for your friends. That is so heartbreaking. Miscarriages are rough...I had a friend who went through 10 of them. It is hard to acknowledge that they always happen for a reason...mother's body rejects the baby, fetal malformation or congenital birth defects...something went wrong. I pray that they have a soft place to fall. (F)

The book looks beautiful. I wish I were more of the scrapbook type. I love looking at them, but when it comes to recording things, I'm more likely to type a journal into the computer and scan photos into a file. Maybe I'll enlist my mom to help me do it right.
