We're back home. We got to Houston at 6am, were home at 730am and at 9 I took the kids to a birthday party after three hours of sleep...OMG I was sooo tired, I had to take a two hour nap after that.

MIL said Allie wasn't interested in nursing anymore and my husband suggested to just cold turkey wean her...well, I want the end of nursing be mutual and when I only got Allie near my ####### she was rooting like crazy. I nursed her like nothing ever happened and the best: From the pumping and engorgement of the frist two vacation days I had a few plugged ducts (I think I felt four knots all together, thank goodness I'm not prone to mastitis) and after nursing Allie they were totally gone. What a relief :) I just love nursing and I love listening to her sucking away, the little swallowing noise she makes, the sweaty head she gets from being under the covers and the way she curls up against me, I'm just not ready yet (and neither is she) to stop nursing.

Eveline - Glad you had a good trip :) We want to go to Victoria sometime when we visit hubby's family.

We met some friends who have a 2 1/2 year old boy and a 1 1/2 year old girl. We had a picnic, took a kid friendly hike in the woods and let the kids feed the ducks. Declan decided he wanted to get closer, so we let him wade in the pond (with daddy in the water too) and then he decided to splash around and totally flopped himself down. He was soaked! Thankfully, I had extra clothes in the car :)

Haha, how cute. Sounds like something Adam would have done. Glad to see you enjoyed your Sunday afternoon.

Victoria is very pretty, everything about Canada (at least that part) reminds me of Bavaria. They actually have green grass there (vs. brown grass here :)).

@ Twila, Jamal brought back an Eid outfit for Rayan that J's nephew wore when he was five or so, and he found him a little uniform for the Moroccan national team, but that's also too big for now. He couldn't find anything there in a smaller size. I agree, I haven't seen too many little boys' clothes that aren't sports-related. I've flipped through some patterns, and some are real cute, so I may try that route when I have some spare time - ha! I'm looking forward to seeing Hana in her dress :)

@ chemaatah, quite a while ago, you mentioned a hadith about putting a tiny bit of mushed date on a baby's palette at birth. We didn't do this, but this evening Rayan was fussy (I think overtired because I'd ruled out hungry, wet, and gassy), and since we have dates around for the holiday, on a whim, I gave him the tiniest little bit of date juice on my finger, less than a drop. He calmed down immediately! He took his paci and was asleep within a minute or two, and he stayed asleep for two hours. I won't make a habit out of that, but I'll sure put it in the repertoire.

I'm the USC.

@Eveline: Welcome back, glad you had a good trip

@Caybee: Yeah, I pretty much sleep surrounded by a fortress of pillows haha the bigger I get, the more pillows I use. Last night I had 4 pillows and my boppy body pillow :o

Speaking of pillows, Justin steals my body pillow as soon as I get out of bed – he says it’s so comfortable

@Anna: Thanks for the warning. It’s really rare that I take Tylenol, I just took this one but I didn’t repeat. The medications that I’m taking regularly are zantac 75 twice a day, tums as needed, and my vitamins.

@Twila: Thanks!

Saludos,

Caro

I am having HUGE issues with the twins eating. They are eating more and more solids. I just don't think they are taking enough formula. They have dropped down to maybe 24 oz a day. They are already on the light side, I just don't want them to drop on their growth curve. We already went through that the first month of their life.

Twila I would think that 24oz is plenty. Zaid stopped taking more than 3 bottles a day at about 8 months. There were days where i would have to force him to drink anything. We tried putting formula in a cup which worked sometimes. Have you called the doc? If their food intake is good im sure they will gain just fine, just check with the ped to make sure he doesnt want them on a vitamin supplement or something. Hey on the bright side maybe your kids will get completely off the bottle by 10 months like Zaid did, best day ever, I hated washing bottles/nipples/etc

@ Evi: Yeah for Allie ;) I couldn't imagine to wean Jona either.

@ Twila: I have no idea about the food intake, why don't you check on their weight gain to see where they are at?

Hi Girls!!!

]Eveline@Oh my God I agree with you, I love to BF too, it's so sweet and funny at the same time to see Sofia when she wakes up and I put her on the boopy pillow, she practically helps me to open my bra, she goes crazy, hahahaha she loves to masage mommy's other boobie with her feet, Sil calls her our litte monkey. And I have so much milk, two mornings ago I had to use te pump and got 8oz of milk, two small bottles. in less than 5 minutes.

Caro@ Two weeks!!!!

Here we are having some problems with our little one, last night she went to sleep at 3.58am, almost 4am!!!! can you believe that? I was so frustrated, I stayed up with huby playing with Sofia, she was so awake it was funny, she wanted to play and she was smiling and laughing OMG, this morning we both promised that we will stick to the routine, so she woke up at 10.30am and during the day she took just 2 40 minutes naps, that's it. We gave her a bath around 9pm and put her to sleep at 10.30pm the crazy thing is that she woke up once already crying like crazy,so different to when she wakes up every morning, all happy and she plays by herself before making enough noise to wake up mami and daddy . She went back to sleep, please ladies wish me luck...

Hi, everyone! I'm finally at 50 days left, so I'm starting to feel more anxious. After spending so long on bedrest and hoping the baby would NOT come out, now I'm starting to get to that impatient point where I'm so excited to meet him.

My mom did some shopping for us yesterday and I got a whole bunch of stuff to get ready. Diapers, onesies, gowns, blankets, diaper genie, boppy pillow, etc., etc. So I'm finally starting to feel prepared. Changing table is set up and ready to go and bassinet should be here shortly. Just need to get the car seat actually installed.

I've been spending a lot of time looking at his little clothes and I am so excited I can't stand it.

Hope you all and your LO's are doing well. Who's going next? Caro, right? How are you holding up, HLM?

Congrats on your little girl, Jay Jay!

Jenn, are you/did you have a baby shower? I swear I washed and rearranged Zaids things 20 times before I actually had him. 50 DAYS is not much at all. Enjoy it :)

I was supposed to have a baby shower a couple of weeks ago, but it was going to be held a couple hours away at my dad's house. So with the bed rest, we had to cancel it. It was a bummer, but I'm hoping to be able to have a little party to show him off after he is here instead!

@JayJay: Congrats on your little girl

@Jenn: I'm so happy to see you've made it this far!! I hope things will continue to go well for you and your little one :luv:

Don't you just love shopping for the baby?

And yes, we're on the 13 day countdown. I had a spicy salsa yesterday, trying to get things going...I guess Sebas didn't appreciate the eviction attempt because all I got were some very strong kicks that really hurt! but on the plus side he continues to drop, definitely lower today

eta: oh, and when I take the dogs for a walk, I have contractions...they die off once I get home, but I'm just happy to see light at the end of this tunnel lol :)

Saludos,

Caro
