the ladies that work in my building with the big kids are filling in at Ben's building. one of them today told me she was at ben's room and he;' sucking his thumb, she said it's bad and she tried to take his hand out of his mouth. oh, that pis.sed me off. i never thought i'd be one of those parents complaining about everything, but i'm so complaining about that.

he can suck his thumb all he wants. he'll stop one day, just like everybody else does. i dont see a big deal, and i'm the parent., if i'm ok with it nobody else should have a say.

Yeah we're staying with baby rice for another week then we're going to try sweet potatos, peas and squash in no particular order. I'm just going to make up ice cube trays, I don't think I want to do store bought organic, too much sodium or this that and the other. If I do my own organic veggies at least I know what goes into it.

We give Enzo butternut squash, apples, he loves yogurt - we give him some Stonyfield farms or strawberry yoplait, he still takes his bottle but we like mixing it up a little bit. So far, he hasn't had a reaction to anything.

37w4d baby has started to drop but it's minimal, he's still way high.

When did your babies drop? how long after they dropped did you go into labor?

(I know they google answer to this, looking for personal experiences)

Caro

@ Stef - I didn't even know who the Wiggles were until my mom bought him the drum. It played a song that wasn't too bad (5 little joeys) and Declan and I would dance to it. But them my mom keeps buying him Wiggles things and now he is hooked. Wiggles are crack for babies.

lol so you haven't seen any of their gay dvd's yet? I don't know but there is something about them that is addicting to babies. similar to the teletubbies, just worse. haha.

No, sadly I have seen the videos on Youtube. What is really bad and embarassing, is that sometimes I find myself singing their songs!!! Sometimes, too, if Declan is fussing in the car, he will quiet down if I sing a Wiggles song.

how dare you post that in an open forum! :bonk::lol: hey whatever does the trick, right? I was always throwing up in my mouth when I watched a mother lick off a dropped pacifier before sticking it back into the babies mouth... been there done that, is all I can say now. :innocent:

@Caro: I don't remember when Ben dropped, I was huge, I couldn't breathe until the his head crowned, so I really don't think he ever dropped. But that's just me. I think your baby can drop anytime, the first baby usually drops about 2 weeks b4 birth, but I guess if you ask 10 mothers you will get 11 different answers.

@mommies: so, the big sibling question is back on the table. Hubby wants another one, SOON, and I am not so sure. I just can't really picture myself with 2 little kids yet, although I do want 2 children. I like the idea of having them close together but I don't know if I am ready yet.

I am graduating next year, so we were contemplating having another one next fall. Anyone else here thinking about a seconde baby? Autum? Kelly? huh?

@ Caro: Jona dropped very early at 35 weeks which is why I dilated so much and broke my water at 37 weeks. I think I'm a bad example being prone to preterm labor and so on... Check out preggo boards, such as mothering.com - plenty mamas there with experiences!

@ chnst: We are thinking about a sibling in the 2-3 years age difference range. But we want Jona to be not so dependent on nursing and old enough to be happy about a baby and not too jealous.... I was thinking we might start trying by age 2, maybe a little earlier, so the earliest would be next year spring I guess. I just want to make sure that I don't have to wean him forcefully before age 2. Cause I cannot nurse during pregnancy with the preterm labor, it really would be dangerous to the second babe. My sister will try again next year too, prolly when her son is about 18 months...

thanks for the input. I think Ben would be a great big brother. He loves babies and playing with other kids and sharing his stuff (so far :innocent: )

If we are going ahead as planned he would be 2.5 years old, which isn't bad. I had at least 3 years in mind, but hubs want sooner. I have to admit that I do get excited at the idea of having another baby. Crazy me..... after 1.5 years of no sleep, I can't believe I am saying this. But of course baby no. 2 will slepp thru the night from day 1.

@Caro: exciting, you're in the home stretch now, are you all prepared for little Sebastian? I really like your nursery, it's a cute theme.

@Nessa: I would be upset too. It's irritating when someone else tries to interfere with your baby. There is nothing wrong with thumb-sucking, unfortunately there are so many people out there who think they know what's best for your child. I still don't know how to deal with that sometimes other than ignoring it.

mommies, when your baby started crawling, did you clean the carpet and or didn't wear shoes in the house?
