@mzmo: great news.

Thanks Nessa!

Hi Everyone!

I had my blood test and NT scan yesterday and everything was going well. As soon as the image popped up on the screen it was doing a hand stand and bouncing around everywhere!! The lady also mentioned that its a longer baby that average..silly me was blown away by just looking at the little thing moving around that I didnt even mention asking how long it was. On the sonogram picture it says 11cm..but im only 12 weeks 6 days pregnant and when I was reading my book it said by around this stage its average is around 8cm?? Could the measurement on the picture me wrong??? I was also shown a close up of how the baby was opening and closing its mouth and was told that it was drinking some amniotic fluid...just amazing! Next ultrasound is in another 5 weeks which Im looking forward to the most!!

I had a very similar experience. Three previous ultrasounds and what I thought had been the date of my LMP (I had the spotting off and on for a week before my period, which was the norm for me) had put the baby at 13 weeks 1 day when I went in for the NT scan, but they wouldn't measure the nuchal fold because the baby measured at 14 weeks 4 days while there (and no less than 14 weeks 1 day). I guess it's possible that baby is older than we thought, but it seems there'd be some variation in length among individuals. Maybe the baby just has a long torso (like my husband, NOT like me).

In any case, MzMo, you and I saw our babies still growing and moving around (a hand stand, wow!). You must have been thrilled! Like you, I can't wait for the 18 week ultrasound (or 19+?), especially since my sleepyhead husband has promised to go with me this time. The practice where I go has a 3D/4D machine with "limited availability," and a sign in the waiting room says patients can bring their own CD for the scheduled ultrasound or they can pay $5 for one, so maybe that means they'll do a 4D then. But if so, I may still look for a place to self-pay for an extra 4D around 23 weeks so the facial features will be a little more fleshed out.

Yeah, maybe the baby's just taking over it's father who is 6'3" and Im only 5'2"! I was definitely thrilled when I was told it was doing a hand stand..I go back to the same clinic when Im 19 weeks and they'll be doing a recording of the 4D ultrasound which is only going to cost an additional $15 so I can send it to SO in NY..Im just way too excited for that scan!

Nice choice Nessa  , I think that Bbaies R Us is a great store but sometimes they don't treat their clients right. We ordered a few stuff for the baby, paid and everything and then they sent us an email leetin us know that the item is not available anymore.

Today we wnt for an early Valentine's day dinner to our favorite Italian Restaurant, the food was delicous, it's funny 'cause hubby asked if I wanted a drink and then I just looked down at my belly " not possible", he forgot that I can't drink alcohol. Oh and after that we got to buy our bedroom set, finally, we never agreed and this time we both fell in love with the same b-set, they are going to delivery it on Monday so tomorrow we have to make room for it.

I gotta go to visit my in laws.. great... hahahaha

Hugs and Happy V-day for everybody!! (L)(L)(L)(L)

I did get Allie a new carseat after all. I didn't get the TRUEFIT though since I've read some posts that getting it installed is a pain in the rear. I got her the Britax Marathon and it should be here the day before my birthday (some time next week). I'm so excited.

Allie is already six months old. Time is flying by. I can't believe that in another 6 months we'll have a birthday party for her. Now I know what they mean with "Enjoy them while they're little". BAbies grow up waaay to fast.

I know! It still blows me away that Declan is 9 months. I hold him now and look at his long legs hanging down and think, where is my teeny baby?

Hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. We celebrated on Friday as we had a babysitter!!! V Day is also our 2 year anniversary (of the legal ceremony). A friend of ours took Declan to her house. Hubby and I went to dinner then came home for a few hours of alone time. Hubby had filled the bedroom with red, white and pink balloons and had a bottle of wine waiting. It was very sweet. My friend offered to keep Declan for the whole night. Both hubby and I were tempted, but we just weren't ready for our baby to be gone for the whole night, so we got him back around midnight. We're pitiful, huh?

@vi: my experience with babiesrus wasn't the bst. we went there twice. first time i gave my baby registry list to the woman to find me some of the stuff i wanted to buy myself. she helped me, but i didn't feel like she was wanting to do it, like i showeed her the list, and all i needed was less than 10 itens, being that most of them were bedding stuff from 1 collection, easy. she only got one thing wrong that i returned. i figure if i'm spending 4k here i don't wanna spend 3 hours trying to find everything by myself.

She wasn't very good when it comes to asking her how things work. she didn't know much about the car seats, and i didn't have some of my questions answered.

second time the cashier was told to take things that i bought from my registry off my registry, she said she did it, but when i came home and checked she didnt.

They sold us a 4 piece furniture collection just to tell us later on that one of the pieces was discontinued. What if we had taken the crib and the dresser home, assembled the crib just to return? Not only we'd waste time, but we'd waste money by driving the truck there and back, etc.

I don't think much of babiesrus. The only reason i am buying everything at babiesrus is because it's the only store i can go, look and find what i want. other stores i can see things online, but it's not the same as seeing in person, like target, walmart, etc. but if they had other stores here, like big stores like babiesrus with a big showroom, i'd definitely go try someplace else.

Nessa@ I fotgot to mention that after I finished to my registry wit Babie's R Us, I went home to checl if it was on line already and It was but with a bunch of items that I never scan, there was a crib (we have a crib already) stroller, and baby boy clothes (we are having a girl!) of course I had to delete all those items.

Hubby was asking me why don't we go to Buy Buy Baby but I thinl BRU has more locations and as you said, we can go and actually see the products in person.

Welcome back Chrissy!!!

Hubby had this idea that it would be nice to have lunch and then go check Babies R'us for valentines yesterday. We both got a little overwhelmed with all the different things and options. Here's a few examples: What's the difference between a burping cloth and a receiving blanket? A play pal goes up to 30 pounds, how old is that? stroller, baby car seat, baby carrier-too many questions!

We did buy a 3 frame ultrasound picture frame :D

So the new plan is: 1) hold off on buying anything until we know the sex of the baby. Girl or Boy things are way cutter than neutral things

2) Tell my friend who already has two kids that we are expecting and drag her along as the official baby-buying adviser

Saludos,

Caro

good plan, Caro. I waited til I was 6 months pregnant to start buying things. By then I already had 3 u/s confirming it is a boy. I like blue for boys, but i also like green and yellow, the neutral colors. But still, for decisions like furniture, bedding, decorations, i wanted to do it more boyish.

Like the furniture i decided, the dark wood, if it was a girl i'd probably go with white.

I'm a 100% in nesting mood, I want to have everything ready for Sofi just in case she surprises us.

Caro@ Yeah, I agree with you BRU is very overwhelming, I went with two friends that had babies last year and they helped me SO much, they knew about everything in the store. I started buying stuff for Sof in the beginnning of the 6th month, I don't know why..... and we are not buying everything pink.

Caro,

I would say definitly wait to find out the sex. The neutral is good, but, if its a girl your gonna want pinks and purples and if its a boy im sure you will want the blues and greens as far as clothes, blankets, etc..for furniture i would recommend buying things that would work for both sexes bc if you plan to have more kids you will already have everything. Fisher Price carrieds a new line called "Precious Planet" IMO I think it is ADORABLE!! They carry the swings, high chair, bouncer, etc. For zaids high chair, travel system, boucer, and pack and play we did plaid green patterns. We did do his room "Zanzibar" themed but Im sure if a girl ever came i would buy something a little more girly. My best advice is do your research and think practical. I HATE my infant travel system and had I read reviews on it prior to buying it I probably would have never bought it. 30lbs? I would say that sounds about the size of a kid who is anywhere from 18 months-2.5 yrs old. There are always exceptions of course.

AFM...Zaid is 2 weeks shy of turning 10 months, developmentally I cannot believe how he has grown. he is looking like his daddy more and more everyday, and turning into a little toddler. He has 6 teeth now and is eating everything under the sun. Pretty soon it will be time to pack away the bottles, I think I will start him on cows milk a little short of his first bday. he is sooo bored with bottles and I have been putting formula in his sippy cup but he doesnt care for it. Im telling ya, he is quite the "big boy" I get a sick feeling in my stomach and quite honestly kind of sad when I think that his 1st bday is right around the corner. He is already so independant. I WANT MY BABY BACK!!! LOL
