Actually, I heard that early ultrasounds for the due date are more accurate than the later ones. So if you have an u/s done until around 12 weeks you can be pretty sure the date it shows is about right. I had my HCG levels taken when I was pregnant with Adam and at 7 weeks it came out way over 13000 which made me believe that I was either further along or pregnant with twins  .

If you look at this link you can see just how big the difference can be. I wonder if it is even possible to estimate a due date upon the levels http://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpre.../hcglevels.html.

Yup, ultrasounds are pretty acurate up to 12 weeks to determine the due date, later on, not really. Too much variation. I had my beta HCG taken at 5 or 6 weeks and it was super high, so we thought omg maybe twins, but my body just makes a lot of it ;). We were absolutely sure about the due date.

My sister's baby measured in all the ultrasounds always 1-2 weeks ahead and the obgyn tried to scare her into a c-section for fetal macromesia, however he was born yesterday after 39 weeks and his average-small sized... So I wouldn't worry. Usually mother nature gives you a baby that fits... Most of the time. I'd rather try labor and pushing before I'd call it quits and have a c-section for a truly big baby. At least I know I tried and baby truly was too big. Too many sections are done cause the doc believes baby is too big yet they cut out a 7 pounder.

@ Zaidsmommy: Have fun! I'm my nephew's godmother and I enjoyed the christening a lot, it was fun.

My u/s at the perinatologists were ended up being spot on for size. My babies were always measuring about 2 weeks ahead in size, but look at them now. They are LONG babies with big heads. So...it was pretty accurate. The ones at the hospital were always off for me.

Cool, good info about the early HCG levels. Our first U/S was at 7w 2d and it said the baby measured a week bigger, but once again we are sure of the conception date.

I hope he ends up being a 7 pounder :help:

Saludos,

Caro

I just got home and am exhausted. Some coworkers and I had a yard sale this weekend at one of their houses. I sold a bunch of baby stuff .... exersaucer, bouncy seat, Bumbo, clothes. It's nice to have the extra money. I'm going to take my hubby out for his birthday on Thursday, then my mom and her hubby are coming to visit and we are going to go to the Granby Zoo again.

Karen, a yard sale sounds exciting! I swear if i sold all zaids old things i would get rich...instead were saving them for future kids.

Stef, Indeed I have a large family. My dad is one of 10 kids, I am one of 5 kids, and hubby is one of 12 kids. I have 20+ cousins and 15+ 2nd cousins just on my dads side alone, and we all live within a 30 mile radius, all of us .I lost count along time ago on exact numbers tho. We have 5 living generations., its kinda crazy. Im also an auntie to 2 boys and a little girl, and another boy who is coming any day.

Got zaid to eat a chicken breast and broccoli for dinner, the weirdo doesnt like the tree part, but loves the stems!! he is a goof...
