Happy Monday to the mommies, teething babies, and everyone else :)

Don't know if it's the nesting thing or what, but I just gave in to an urge and bought about six months worth of paper towels, toilet paper, and bar soap  The baby's room is nearly ready (just have to sew up the covers for the cushions on the rocking chair) -- no decorations on the walls yet, but there's time -- and our room is ready. My hospital bag is pretty well packed. But there still seems to so much to do. The cupboards and fridge are bare, and I was hoping to have frozen a lot of meals by now. I'd also hoped to clean out a couple of closets, turn one closet into a pantry, and get rid of a lot of junk while my husband was gone. But there may still be time for that after he arrives, and I'll need him to carry things down the stairs anyway.

@ Caro, I'm probably overpacked for the baby as well. I did just pick one going-home outfit which I think will fit him regardless, but I have several duplicates of everything else in two sizes, and I even packed some diapers, which I'm pretty sure they provide. Not sure whether my husband is bringing back something traditional that he can wear this early for the hospital photo, but if not, his going-home outfit will work.

A few years ago, I bought one of those grabber things, like a collapsible stick with a trigger at one end that you can use to pick up things that are out of reach. I was playing a lot of disc golf at the time, and I carried it with me to help me fish the discs out of the creek. Now I'm using it almost daily to help me with housework. I never realized I'd get so much use out of that contraption.

I could go in 2.5 or 3 weeks from now to be induced, might know more after my appointment tomorrow. Over the weekend, I became decidedly more uncomfortable. The BH contractions, which up to now have been high and essentially painless, have apparently moved down and are crampy but not terrible. They aren't regular, and if I lie down on my side for a while, they subside, but I'll mention them to the doctor tomorrow. Walking is sometimes very uncomfortable, and I wonder if he's dropped a bit. I also need to remember to ask if I can wear my contact lenses and wedding ring during delivery, because if not, I might as well just leave them at home. Any thoughts?

Tomorrow afternoon, my sister and I are driving about four hours to the Raleigh airport to pick up my husband. We'll stay there overnight and take our time coming back on Wednesday. My biggest concern has been that I'd go into labor or be admitted before he got back. Now I don't think I will, but at the rate things seem to be progressing physically, I'm still crossing my fingers and also hoping I'll be able to walk to the baggage claim under my own steam. Sis has already scared him by telling him that I'm enormous  and we haven't used a webcam since he's been gone, so he has no idea what to expect.

Best wishes to all!

Caybe@ Your are almost there and you have everything almost ready for the baby, lucky you, my baby surprised us 6 weeks earlier and my lovely hubby who is a procastinator went crazy getting everything ready in one day hahahaha while I was at the hospital. I kept telling him for weeks to start getting rid of stuff but he never listened,at the end had to do everything by himself and I think he learned the lesson.

I'm waiting fro Sofia to wake up so we can go to the pool, last night she went to sleep at 10.30 and didn't wake up until 6.30 this morning, great gift for me.

@ Vi I remember when you disappeared for a few days for your early surprise :) Are you taking Sofia swimming? That is one of the first things I want to do, as soon as the doctors say it's okay for both of us. Congratulations on your nice, LONG night's rest!

Vi: As long as Sofia likes the pool I would take her too. adam went swimming at 3 months for the first time.

Allie still suffers from separation anxiety BADLY...I mean, I can't turn my back to her and she's crying her eyes out. She's also cutting tooth 7 and 8 right now.

It is so bad with Eman too. About a week ago as I was dropping him off at my mom's he says to me: Mommy, you don't love me and daddy doesn't love me" and I asked: "why do you say that" and he replied: "because you both leave me and go to work..." My heart shattered and I wanted to call my job and quit that second.

How old is Eman again? I can't imagine Adam ever talking like that. I know a lot of 2year olds aren't very fluid in talking but it's getting to a point where I'm getting concerned if he might maybe be a little too far behind.

@ Vi, That's wonderful :) My mom says I hated getting wet as a baby, but I'm hoping if I introduce him to the water very carefully without scaring him that he will enjoy it as much as I do now. I've watched a mom walking her little one slowly around in the pool, and it looked like they were both having such fun.

@ Marina, Thanks for the article!

I had a good appointment today. Amniotic fluid is up from 8 last week to 13 (she says 8 to 20 is normal). Cervix is still at 1 cm and 50% effaced, but he's dropped a bit and is no longer transverse -- hooray -- the OB could feel the top of his head when she checked my cervix. He was active, good heartbeat, practicing his breathing. He didn't gain weight during the last week (according to the U/S), so he's holding at 7 pounds 9 ounces with three or four weeks left, not quite so scary-big now. Leaving for Raleigh this evening to pick up my husband. There have been times today when just walking has been frankly painful -- heck, it hurts now to just sit -- but the OB says it's because he's dropping, so as long as he's okay, I can deal and just take my relief at night. I'd hoped to work up until D-day though, and I'm beginning to have some doubts. I guess the day I arrive at work, look up at the stairs, and cry, I'll know it's time. :)

He is almost two and a half. I contribute it to him being around a lot of grown ups and well...I talk to him ALOT. I have converations with him in the car and at home and before going to bed with asking him what he did during the day and where he went, etc. I feel sorry for the poor kid because sometimes I think he wants to tell me to shut up...lol...He is a great talker. I can hold conversations with him...I am amazed at his vocabulary.

I think Adam is soaking up everything and knows what's up but he is keeping it to himself. I say don't worry he will start very soon.

@ Caybee - I'm impressed that you have so much stuff done. I was surprised by Declan 3 weeks early and nothing was ready.

@ Jax - Awww, poor Jaylyn. Hope she feels better soon.

Thanks she is better now. I had to take her to two different doctors. I took her to urgent care and the doctor said to wait the flu virus out. That day she had a 101.5 temp. The next day I called her doctor cause her temp went to 102.5 and I was going to wait it out but my hubby made an appointment for her doctor. She gave her some medication and said if it got worse to call cause she might get bronchitis. So after a day of meds she is back to herself and only screaming because of her back teeth. I suggest getting two different views now if you dont like the first one.

Caybee@ Yes I'm taiking my little one to enjoy some pool time, she loves the water. The doctor didn't say Yes about the pool but he didn't say NO so .... I'm just taking her  .hahahaha.

Daddy went to play softball and she is taking a nap, me time again,Yay!

We took Jay at 6 months for the swim lessons but she broke out in a horrible rash. We took her swimming again at 13 months and now she is fine. She had very sensitive skin when she was first born. We only could use a certain kind of soap to wash her clothes.
