Happy 4 months Sophia!

As for the incident, I know I contacted the service provider for her website. Alas, there wasn't much that could be done. I chalked it up to a learning lesson, the hard way. DH was sooooooooo p*ssed at me for a while because of it. If you read most of the rest of her ravings, you see she is nothing short of a hate-monger. She is anti-immigrant, anti-muslim, and has hate language in EVERY single one of her postings.

AFU: The babies and I are headed to my mom's house today. My sister and two nieces fly in from Vermont tomorrow! Yay! I miss my lil' sister soooooooooo much.

and the metamorphosis will be complete only when you go out in public with a big spot of some kind of baby goo on your clothes that you didnt even know about. (like a spit up trail down the back of your shoulder, for example....)

I looked up the Maizena stuff at the grocery store today...hmm...not so sure if that should be baby's first food. It has 35 calories a serving and nothing else...it is pure corn starch. I understand you can use it in smoothies and whatnot but giving it to a baby??? Even if you give it just in the beginning that would mean that baby is missing out on a nursing session and gets only calories instead of nutrients and vitamins. I'd rather give some potato, carrot or apple instead. Just my two cents.

Congrats on making it to 4 months without going bonkers Vi. I think the first birthday should be thrown for the baby's parents cause they have survived all the colics, screaming, spitup, blowouts etc.

I didn't know that there was somebody stealing pictures here on VJ...pretty scary thought.

Wow that is scary and upsetting... Out of curiosity, do you have links to the website of that "journalist"? I'm just curious too see what she wrote. You can PM me the website if you guys don't want to post it.

I agree with Evi on the corn stuff... Every country has some funny old thing going on that isn't necessarily healthy for baby. I wouldn't do that... research shows it's just not worth it to start before 6 months, and then only with nutritious foods with vitamins and trace elements and minerals. It's like our parents were told to stuff our faces at 8 weeks with apple sauce... Arrghh. I askes my MIL and abuelita (her mom) about that maizena, they are from Buenos Aires, and they have never heard of it. Back in the 50ies when MIL was born they nursed the kiddos and introduced solids around 4-7 months, following baby's cues. Pretty advanced I thought.

My mom and grandma weaned me and my siblings on congee but not just plain congee, congee with fish/chicken/veggies. I actually did the same for DS1 and will probably so it with Henry too. But because of DH's food intolerances etc.. I won't even attempt that utill he is 6 months old.

Eveline@ Alot of friends warned me that the first three months were crazy but with my mom's help I survived, and they were so right, as soon as she turned 3 months everything changed makig my life much easier,she is a very easy-happy baby. I was so afraid about being by myself with her but my maternal instincts just clic. I feel a little bad when my hybby comes home and wants to spend time with her and holds her but you can tell that she is constantly looking for me, poor hubby...

Caro@ you made me laugh, hahaha, you have to see me now, everytime I take the baby out I bring so much stuff.... and of course always coupons, i love them,they are my best friends.

We just came back fom Babies R Us, we got a box of diapers size 2-3-Pampers, why is that the Swaddlers gives you just 154 diapers and the Baby dry more than 200 and cost the same 40.99? shouldn't the swaddlers be cheaper because they are giving you less diapers? what's the big difference? then we got Sofia a floatie, one that comes with a canopy,we are going to the pool tomorrow so it's defintilety necessary the only thing is that don't have them for small babies, we got one that is for babies from 9 -36 motnhs. Babies R Us have all the pool toys on sale.

Well, it is definitely something that you would give to the baby when he is mainly breastfeeding, and is getting his nutrients from that. Just adding a little calories and transitioning from breast/ bottle to spoon feeding - once every other day at about 4 months. But I don't want to impose, maybe there is a better alternative, but maizena has been around forever back home and easy 3-4 generations were introduced to solids with it, and I think overall we are healthy people so I'm going to go with tradition on this one

@Vi: I packed the baby's birthday bag today. it is true they need so many things! I may also be exagerating because I packed 3 of everything: 3 receiving blankets, 3 going home outfits, 3 burp cloths, etc

Vi, I think alot of people are hesitant to post pics bc some crazy journalist bit*h came on this website and stole pictures and wrote horrible stories about people. I was actually a victim, she took a pic i had of me and sofyan and wrote horrible things about us. I dont care personally but I know some did. I still post pics of us and continue to do so. lol

I remember hearing about this when I joined. I can't believe anyone would do this. I stopped posting a lot because their was some like stalker type/aggressive person in the Jamaican forum. I have never posted a picture on here of both of us for that reason. We have a yahoo site group for Jamaican couples to share pictures.
