Water breaking: Mine broke at 36 weeks + 5 days. I was already 3cm dilated and 80% effaced at that point. It was a slow trickle though, no huge gush. We took our sweet time before we went to the hospital and said it broke a couple hours later than it really did, as hospitals push for IV antibiotics due to infections that can occur. But those infections only occur cause people check your dilation - hence at home nobody did that, so no germs introduced. So my water broke around 2pm I guess. I was sleeping and woke up cause it was a little wet, so I cannot pinpoint an exact time. We arrived at the hospital around 6pm. Contractions started to be painful at 1am. I was fully dilated at 10am, Jona was born at 12:36pm. No Pitocin/etc necessary.

Positioning: most babies turn later on, Jona was head down from 28 weeks, pushing his big little head on my bladder for the rest of the pregnancy...

Car seats: we are happy with the Britax Boulevard. I would buy it again at any time. My parents borrowed the same seat from friends for Jona to use in Germany in April when we'll fly there. Yeah :)

Genetic counseling: Kaiser Permanente was BIG about it. I refused the scans as it wouldn't change anything for us. They had huge questionnaires and insisted on getting a genetic scan for cystic fibrosis even though it never ocurred in either family. Turns out my risk of giving it to a baby is less than 0.001%. My 31 year old sister refused all scans too. Only my oldest sister who is due August 2nd did the nuchal thingie screen.

Oh I only did the AFP blood test to check for abdominal and spinal anomalies so we are prepared and have a good specialist in case the baby would have had some disease.

Girls, I feel horrible :(

I have nausea 24/7. I can't take anything because I have a lot of heartburn and any pill makes me throw up, and on top of that I have headaches... :crying:

I feel dehydrated but if I have too much liquids...I puke

I wish I could be one of those happy pregnant women, but I feel and look terrible! and I feel guilty because I feel like I'm rejecting our baby

Sorry for the vent

Saludos,

Caro

Caro please don't feel bad. I was just crying myself yesterday because I felt guilty for not "enjoying" my pregnancy. Why would anyone think throwing up, nausea, heart burn, head aches, and constipation is fun though. It's normal to not enjoy those things. Please, please don't feel guilty. It will get better. I'm not near as sick as I used to be. Just try to stick it out a little while longer and hopefully all that stuff will go away. I'll be thinking of you.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!
