OMG I'm so tired... I feel like I was hit by a bus and all I did today was hanging out with Ben. I'm only 27 but I feel like I'm 80. He emptied out my wallet and shoved the credit cards and money under the couch but I think my back will break if I bend down. screw the wallet. lol

I know you working mom's must be even more exhausted, but being around a toddler 24/7 is so draining. I love him but I need a day off. I can't wait, we are going to Canada in 4 days, finally hubby can take over and give me a break. :D

@Eveline: I would be nervous too, especially at a party. It's hard work supervising one toddler around an empty pool, but taking care of 2 little ones at a party can be really tough. I agree, maybe you can take grandma with you? On the other hand, do you think Adam will know if you leave him with your MIL? He will have fun spending an afternoon at his grandmas' house and you can go with Allie and actually enjoy the party. You can always set up a playdate with Adam and the older kid later when there is less trouble. just my 2 cents.

I know I totally complain tht I do not get enough time with him and then the weekend comes around and I am forced to hide in the closet just to get 5 minutes of peace (Hubby is around so he isn't unsupervised when I am hiding : ) Even if hubby IS around it is is: "mommy mommy mommy mommy..."

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for a while, dealing with some pregnancy complications, unfortunately. I've been diagnosed with a chronic abruption after some bleeding and am now on bed rest, working from home. I'm 50% effaced and just trying to hang on as long as I can. 26 weeks tomorrow and taking it day-by-day, as I've been advised. I had a positive fetal fibronectin test, which means that I could deliver in the next couple of weeks, but the test is pretty inconclusive. I've had steroid shots to develop the lungs in case the baby comes soon.

I hope everyone is doing well. Hopefully I'll feel up to catching up on posts and participating more soon. (F)

OMG Jenn, glad to see that baby is still inside of you. Take it really easy. You don't have another child to take care of so just lay down and do as little as possible. All the best. I hope that you have at least another 10 weeks ahead of you.

About the birthday. I have cancelled it but I'm thinking about just sticking Adam in his little speedo suit with those floaty padding things inside and let him roam free. Of course I will supervise but I don't have to worry as much. Allie will stay in a highchair unless I go in the water too. They have a baby pool there so maybe I can keep them inside that little pool. I don't know.

@ Chrissy, glad Molly's appointment went well. How are you feeling these days?

@ chnst, I can only imagine what it's like to chase a toddler. The cats were pulling down curtains today, and it suddenly struck me that the baby will be like that eventually, only nonstop. Hope you enjoy your trip.

@ Jenn, you and baby are in my thoughts (F) Stay put a little longer, little one. Every day is a step closer.

Went for the weekly BPP today. Baby is "breathing," good heartbeat and all. He gained about 14 ounces in the last two weeks, so his growth is slowing a little, but he's still around 7 pounds 9 ounces at 35 weeks and 2 days. Last week, he appeared to be head-down. This week, he's almost head-down but a little crooked, so if he doesn't straighten up within a couple of weeks, they'll start talking c-section. The doctor says he could drop at any time, so I asked him to straighten up, and then I'll hope he drops and stays put for the duration. I'm about 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced, so still a long way to go. Oh, the U/S tech said it looks like he's got him some hair :) I'm still not terribly uncomfortable, but I have to psych myself up to climb the stairs at work or to take that first step after sitting. Yesterday felt like 10 months worth of PMS rolled into one, emotionally, with a massive red meat craving thrown in for good measure. Strange days indeed.

Today I talked with my boss about possibly returning part-time instead of full-time after the baby is born. My husband will be taking afternoon/evening classes two days a week, and he's in between jobs due to plant closing, so if he finds something in the afternoon/evening on the other days, I could work mornings PT and we could avoid daycare, at least in the beginning. But he has to take whatever he can get, so we'll see.

Awww Jenn - Much love to you. Wishing you all the best and hoping you can keep the bambino in you as long as possible.

Stef - Where in Canada are you going? Have fun!!!

I know what you mean .... Declan has been wearing me out lately. I've been so overwhelmed this week and not having much energy at all. Really feeling down and unsettled. I wonder if on a subconscious level, I am feeling the emotions because it was the 1 year anniversary of Declan's surgery. Also, just not knowing if I am moving or staying here is getting to me. I would kill to go to Canada too. We might try to go in a few weeks for hubby's bday.

Caybee, I posted an article about fetal positioning a while back, let me know if you want me to post it again. There's a lot of things you can do to help that baby get in the best position. Or PM me if you want me to send it to you :)

Saludos,

Caro

Jenn - big hugs and prayers to you...here's where I get all Catholic on you. :innocent: I'll be praying that the Blessed Mother wraps her mantle around your little baby and keeps him safe and lets him cook for as many weeks more that your body will allow. Put it in God's hands and let Him take care of it. (F)

Jenn - At least with the fetal fibronectin tests there can be false positives (but rarely false negatives). So...keep thinking positive thoughts. :star: I'll be sending all the positive thoughts I can find your way!

AFU: The babies went for their 6 month well-check today. Hana is just slightly below 16 pounds and Zak is just slightly above 16 pounds. Both are at or close to 28 inches in length and 18 inches in head circumference. So...they are both 90th percentile or above in length and headsize and Hana is 50th and Zak 30th for weight. We have two big-headed, long, "skinny" babies! They are both healthy and on-target developmentally. I spoke with the pediatrician about the H1N1 virus. My summer vacation will be over in a month and the "swine" flu is spreading around here. I am worried about my students giving it to me and passing it on the babies. He told me at their next visit in October they will definitely have the flu vaccine plus another that will specifically be for H1N1. Then...double trouble each got 3 shots and one oral vaccine.

@caybee: wow almost 8 lbs. You're a trooper! Hang in there. By the way, I was 50% effaced and 1cm just hours before I went into labor. Not even 24 hrs after the doc checked me and told me that "there won't be a baby anytime soon" Ben was in my arms.

@autum: we're doing a little roadtrip around Lake Ontario- first Montreal, then Kingston, Toronto and then 2 days at Niagara Falls. I'm excited. I can't wait, I really really need a vacation with my husband. :) Wow, it has been one year since the surgery? He's recovered really well, I am so glad you took him to the hospital right away, even though you were not home. Poor little guy has been thorugh so much!

@ Jenn: Best of luck to you! I hope you can make it as long as possible. The fetal fibronectin though is inconclusive at best. It is so unreliable, no European doctor orders that test.... When they did it with me my sister's obgyn in Germany was like what? They waste money on that?! At the same time, they refused to measure my cervix length as recommended by a previous ob (I moved). Anyways, I hope your cervix cooperates!

Jona never was fond of diaper changes, but now he keeps turning around and crawling away. I change him on the carpet now so there is no danger of him falling off the changing table (that thing goes to the basement, might as well use the space better in his room)... Any tricks on how to make him hold still for like 30 seconds that it takes to change a pipi-diaper? When it comes to #2 diapers, I gotta rinse his bum in the sink. I don't think you could ever clean his behind with wipes, NO WAY! It's so messy!

Allie wiggles a lot too but she's usually easy to distract with something that crinkles like the wipes or a rattle or a regular little plastic bag.

When Eman would do tht I would give him something to play with as a distraction. It worked almost every time...
