Adam has the little Doggy harness but we have never used it BECAUSE when he doesn't want to go the way we go, he just plops down on the floor...and we would have to drag him after us  . So we just let him walk beside us and tell him to stay with us. That works fine.

I dont think zaid would ever stay on a baby leash. He too throws himself on the floor and has fits. I could see it now lol. He is pretty good about holding hands, lately we have had to walk with him in the stores and such because he absolutely hates the grocery basket, so he knows to take our hand and walk along side us.

It amazes me how fast he is learning. 2 months ago he could hardly differ dada and mama and now he can say about 30 words and can repeat almost everything. He has learned 1,2,3 and A,B,C and can even put 2 or 3 words together like "whats that" "wheres the doggy" etc. my big boy :)

I am seriously contemplating baby leashes when the twins get older and walking. I am trying to logistically figure out how we are going to be able to take the two of them to and from the car when we live on the backside of our building and up a flight of stairs. It will be a wait and see how the two of them act.

my MIL would KILL me if I would get a leash for Ben. She gets all worked up when she see's someone with a kid on a leash. I don't have much of an opinion yet. Ben hasn't started walking. :D It does look weird but I can see how it can be hard keeping track of a very energetic toddler in a crowd or when you're dealing with 2 or more little children. I say safety first, and if that thing can prevent accidents/kidnapping then why not.

@Kelly: Ben says 2 words too: mostly "my Mommy", "my Melmo" (Elmo), "daddy work" "more cheese" haha. it's so much fun and so cute to hear him say new words. So much easier now that he can kind of tell me what he wants/needs.

Does anyone have baby einstein dvd's? Ben doesn't have much of an attention span, but he loves the wordsworth and sits there and repeats everything. so funny.

As long as your kids don't flop down it sounds good. I think you can only use it between 14 months and maybe 20 months..after that they unfortunately don't always cooperate

I have never seen leashes before... Don't know what to think about them. I really love wearing Jona, but now he weighs 26.6 pounds, I lost my weight with all my strength and carrying him in the MeiTai works for about half an hour before I am exhausted. In the stroller we have to buckle him in nowadays cause he moves so much.. I am so sad that I cannot wear him that much anymore. Luckily he is fine with the stroller.

Jona found a new game that I don't like :( He crawls up to me and bites me and thinks it is hilarious. My feet, hands, belly, wherever he can reach. I keep telling him no biting, biting hurts, but he is too young to understand. It is not that bad, but if he were older I could just ask him to bite his own arm to see how it hurts. I guess it takes a ton of repetitions before he understands.

Yesterday he actually ate about 30 oz of whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce (ground) and then a jar of Yobaby... Wow. BTW I was amazed to find Yobaby at Walmart - only $3 for 6 jars!!! It runs $4.99 at Safeway! crazy!

why, just drag 'em behind you. just kidding, just kidding.

Unfortunately I have seen that... The couple in Santa Maria who spanked their son since he was 6 months old ( ) - they always dragged their son while holding on to his hand behind them. On concrete. He was bloody. they call that tough love???? I felt so sorry for that little boy.

@Chnst: I have thought about dragging Adam hehe. No, not really. Actually we have never used the leash outside..well, actually we have, once in Borne on a farm here. There were tons of people but ADam actually walked with us even without the leash. For me, I have never used it on him when I'm out because when we're at the supermarket I make him hold onto the cart and then I do let him walk around but make sure I always see him so I don't really think there's need for a leash. I find it ok for airports though, when you might be a little distracted and stressed and want to keep your kid with you.

Spanking is just not right, I must admit to having gone there and I feel bad because I see Adam trying to hit Allie and it's hard to explain to him that hitting hurts and is wrong when then you go ahead and hit your toddler...KWIM (@Chnst translation: know what I mean  ).

@Anna: I always get the yobaby at Walmart. They sell 2 for 5 bucks here, so I get 12 cups for 5 dollars. That's a good price and the kids love it. Unfortunately they don't seem to have very many flavors but as long as Adam and Allie eat it, it's all right.

LOL, I was like KWIM? She must have mispelled kiwi. haha. I wish we had a food-walmart nearby, yobaby is so expensive at our grocery store.

I am totally against hitting... I think it must be really bad before I would go so far as to spank Ben. I don't think he is old enough to understand. My parents used to spank me as a kid and I thought that was terrible. I'm going to try to avoid that, but I can see how it can be hard.

Anna, I know about the biting, Ben doesn't bite, but he likes to pinch us really hard or pull hair. He doesn't let go of his deathgrip either, no matter what you do. The only way to get him off is to pretend to cry- he gets really upset when he see's me cry.
