@Nessa: I think your supply will dwindle fast if you cannot pump more. A three months old nurses - approximately - every 2 or 3 hours and you cannot keep up with that during pumping. If it was me I'd probably pump some more at home, try to keep the supply up a little bit longer and eventually switch to formula and then comfort nurse whenever I'm with the baby. I'm so sorry to hear that you don't have quiet room to pump. I always thought it was in the law to provide a nursing mother with a room to pump or nurse her child at work.

@Chrissy: Hope you feel better soon. All the best.

@Mommies with new toddlers: HAVE FUN...ENJOY THEM :whistle::lol::lol:

Everyone keeps telling us to enjoy the babies now because in 6 months to a year we are in for it. :(

One of my co-workers who has twins that are a year and half older than ours told me he never imagined how hard it would be to have toddler twins with tantrums and going in different directions. I pray their mellow attitude carries into toddler-hood.

@ Nessa: Ditto what Evi said, I thought so too. At least CA and NY definitely have those laws. I know many states do. I mean even Wyoming has laws that allow to breastfeed in public whenever I want to. I thought you live in Kansas?

If they refuse, you could get a pumping bra and wear a nursing cover over it, nobody could see what is going on, but hear. HOnestly, I wouldn't care though. I would do it to keep a supply.

My sis has a 2 & 3 year old - 13 months apart. There are moments where I think she wishes she could just crawl into a hole and forget everything.

@Nessa: wow I can see how this is very stressful. Kudos to all the working moms. If the daycare is close by, can you go visit him during lunch break and nurse him there and then in the am and at night at home? That way you will only have to use minimal formula and keep up your supply.

I remember that after 3 months my supply totally adjusted to Ben's needs. If I would pump in between I didn't get more than 2 or 3 ounces either. I am definitely pro breastfeeding but given these circumstances I would probably end up substituting with formula. Handling full-time work and an infant/ houesekeeping is very stressful and trying to pump and keep up a milk supply under these circumstances is just adding stress to your life. Sorry you don't have better conditions regarding pumping/nursing at your workplace. I think I read about these laws but I am not sure if they apply in Kansas too. Are you the only mother at your work who currently has an infant?

@tnh: don't worry too much about the negative things other people tell you about their kids. It greatly depends on their personality and the way you handle it. Tantrums are just another part of toddlerhood but each child is different. You have the advantage that they can play with each other and keep themselves busy. Maybe it won't be so bad.

I have to agree with chnst. It really depends on the laws in your state and I would thoroughly research them. My boss in NYC had such an easy time with the whole thing. We had an open office with cubicles, but our CEO would allow her to use his office to pump every 3 hours. Everyone in the office was extremely supportive. Same in CA. Someone would surrender their office or meeting room for the pumping moms. Both workplaces were very pro breastfeeding and pro moms. I hope you can work something out with your employer... I am personally more hm forward with this issue, as I would totally pump in a cubicle. If someone is annoyed, the better, the more likely they will offer me a better place to pump. But that's just me.

Jona pulls up on everything and crawls up the stairs... He is getting so big... I cannot believe it. When I saw our neighbor's son who was born 2 weeks ago I thought wow how tiny, yet that baby is a whole pound heavier than Jona was when he was born. I cannot imagine anymore how small he was....

Allie started to cruise yesterday. She pulls up on everything and she always says "Uh-Ohhh" when she drops something

I promisted Adam we're going to see the "COW" for lunch (The Cow means Chick Fil A, he loves that place for their playstructure) if he behaves at Hobby Lobby before that. So off to Hobby Lobby we went and had to step in the first puddle around, I was getting pissed. Then he waited too long to tell me that he had to pee and peed in his pants a little bit. Not much but enough for me to see it...Then he was gone the whole time and I'm sure everybody in there knows his name now and on the way out he had to step in a puddle again. That was it, I told him we're not going to Chick Fil A and he went on to sit down in a puddle ... wonderful. So now here we are, at home, Adam in bed (he's still crying for the cow) and Allie getting ready for a nap.

Awww Eveline -- good for you for being consistent.

Declan was driving me nuts last night. His dad was sick and went to bed after supper. At first, Declan and I had a great time, just Mommy and him. He took a nice long bath, but then didn't want to get out and did his "I'm as limp as a noodle, you can't hold me mommy" trick, not so fun when he is wet and slippery. Then, got him into PJs, read to him and gave him a bottle of milk (we're mostly onto sippy cups, but still haven't phased out the nighttime bottle yet). He looked like he was falling asleep .... but then got a burst of energy and was awake until 11!!! And he just kept pulling my hair, and grabbing at my face, no matter how many times I redirected him, said no, etc. I felt his gums and I'm pretty sure there is yet another tooth coming through, which explains the behavior, but doesn't take away my urge just to scream!!!

OMG that is so funny! Eman does the same thing when he is really tired. He turns into a little drunk person and starts pulling my hair and pretty much wants to beeat me up. He thinks its so funny and starts cracking up.

Exactly Nizzy!!! And I'm in pain and Declan is cracking up. Argh!

Well, I was so annoyed when I picked him up from daycare today. I sent his lunch in a tupperware container (leftovers from last night's dinner). I packed a fair amount, just because I wanted him to have enough if it was one of his piggo days. So, I went to grab something out of the bag we leave at daycare all week, with extra clothes and stuff in it. And lo and behold, I found the tupperware container, with half of the food still in it. I asked them why they didn't refrigerate it after Declan ate half of his meal, so I could use the rest for dinner or lunch tomorrow. Apparently, someone worked in the infant room who normally doesn't. And I was told that "some parents want to see how much is left". Well, yes, I would like to know how much my kid eats, but putting the food back into the refrigerator is not going to make that amount shrink or anything, and it would actually allow us to USE the food again, instead of throwing it out. I know it is a minor thing, but wastefulness annoys the hell out of me, plus it was a stressful day at work so I was ready to snap.

@Autumn: I totally understand thta you are annoyed. Do you have a little lunchbag for Declan? I got a little one for Adam and put a frozen cooler thingy in it to keep the food cool for the day.
