@Chrissy: I was asked numerous times if I wanted my tubes tied but even though we're done with children it somehow seemed to final for me to have it done. I guess I can still have it done in a year or two, maybe three if we are really 100% convinced that we're not having another one but as of right now I just can't imagine going that last step.

I'm glad to see that you don't have any regrets though.

Sign him up for having it done twice. I know three cases now where the woman still got pregnant after the doc had cleared the husband that the vasectomy was a success...

What do your babies call or will they call your parents/in-laws? My mom doesn't like "grandma" so she wants to be called "nonna" (grandma in italian, which is a little strange to me considering she doesn't even speak italian, but it's her name so she gets to pick).

I know, I totally agree. Like I said, I might have it done in a few years but as of right now, I'm just not ready. We'll see. A boy and a girl is perfect though.

My friend in my playgroup makes 'sleeppeapods', it's basically a sleepsack and swaddler in one. If I had known about it when I was pregnant I would have gotten one for Allie. Go to www.sleeppeapod.com

You basically stick baby in there, tie a knot in the bottom (so it always fits and doesn't get too short since you regulate the length) and that is it. Inside is a little pocket so baby can't get the arms out but at the same time the baby is not restricted to be laying in only one position with its arms on the side like they do when they stick inside a swaddler. It is actually a great idea and I wonder why nobody else thought of it before.

Eveline, have you seen these in action? I had a look at the Web site, they look so cute. A friend of mine is having her first baby in a few weeks, and she isn't registered anywhere for gifts. This might be an excellent solution.

haha, maybe the guys were too scared and told their wives they went and had it done.... I think I watched that on TV the other day. Guy told wife he got snipped and 9 months later the truth came out during the delivery. haha.

Hubby doesn't want a vasectomy. He cries when he has a cold, so there is no way he'd survive that procedure. I think we are way too young to have such a drastic procedure done. A friend of mine had a boy and girl in her early twenties, thought she was done having babies, had her tubes tied. One year later her husband died in a tragic accident. She is now in her thirties and re-married, her new husband wants a baby so bad, but they can't. You never know what could happen.

@Jenn: Ben calls my in-laws "Gee-Gee" (grandma) and they taught him to say "pop" for grandpa. He refers to my parents to the traditional german "Omi&Opa" It was really easy to teach him. "Gee-Gee" was one of his first words, because she spent a lot of time with huim when I was in school. It kind of stuck. He likes to take the phone and call her "hi Gee-Gee"

My experience and those of my friends has been that it doesnt really matter what you might want them to call or be called, babies/kids have a way of pretty much making it up. when I was pregnant with my son my mom had all kinds of ideas of what she would be called but when my son was old enough to talk he started calling her Gonny (some mess of granny maybe??) I dont know but it stuck and she has been Gonny ever since. My best GF's parents are Genga and Mimi from their first grandchild and it stuck for all the later grandkids. No one knows where Genga came from but it makes us all laugh.
