Congrats Jamie :) of course we remember you :)

Im so tired and its only 230. Having a walking baby is overrated. He refuses to sit in the grocery cart now and insists on walking, which then turns into him pointing at everything saying "whats that?" and then grabbing whatever it is. His "Whats that" sounds more like.."Wasdat", lol. cute, but makes shopping a task and a half.

Zaids eczema is flaring up real bad with the heat. He has patches all over his legs. Poor kid scratches em all the time, i dont think the eucerin helps anymore. any suggestions?

@ chemaatah I've just read briefly about the tahneek, and as I understand it, the sugar from the tiny bit of the mashed date acts as an analgesic, among other things. Did you have any difficulty explaining to your doctors what you were doing at the time, and was it in your birthing plan? I hadn't heard of having the newborn ingest much other than breast milk or formula, although I remember someone posting about sugar water on a paci before circumcision, so I wouldn't think this tiny bit would alarm anyone since it's essentially sugar, but if I need to talk with someone ahead of time, I want to be prepared for that. Thank you!

yr very welcome!

ayah had low blood sugar when she was born, that resolved itself through nursing a lot in those first few hours. but if it didn't get high enough, they wanted to give her some sugar water. we gave her a little piece before she had her heel sticks to test her blood sugar, so i hoped it helped a little bit, with the pain-and maybe even her blood sugar, who knows. i didn't have a birth plan or anything, but just told the nurse that we wanted to give her that after we arrived back in our room from the or. she just thought it was interesting and didn't have a problem with it. neither did her pediatrician. it can't hurt to be part of yr birth plan though, and mention it ahead of time. best of luck!

i think i'm the devil. does any of you laugh at the baby when he's crying. like, not all the time, but if he's crying for a while and you just can't do anything about it, like you're driving, then u keep hearing the different types of crying, high pitch, etc and sometimes it makes u laugh?

i guess maybe i do that because i start getting nervous. you know when sometimes you're crying and then all of the sudden you start laughing in the middle of the crying? maybe that's what's happening :P or maybe that doersn't happen to anyone and i'm crazy.

Congrats Jaime! Yes we remember you! :star:

Nessa: I sometimes laugh too. I think it gets to a point if you didn't laugh, you would cry.

AFU: We went to the zoo today. It was good. It just was excruciatingly hot! Afterwards, we went to BRU and got those mesh feeding things. I can't wait to have them try them tomorrow with some fruit.

@Nessa: nah I usually don't laugh, I cry too. I am even worse. When Ben was very little he got scared of loud noises, like the blender or the vacuum cleaner and started crying, but it was totally different from other cries. His little lower lip would stick out and he would pout for a few seconds and then begin to wail. It was soooooooo cute, it hurt. I feel guilty, but we actually took a picture of him when he did it once.

@ Jamie - COngrats!!!

@ Nessa - TY! Hubby's sister sent him Canada tattoos and he had to put one on Declan right away.

I have laughed too when Declan has cried nonstop. It is an anxious, I'm at my wit's end laugh.

I try NOT to laugh when I tell him no and he pouts and maybe cries. It is so dang cute though :)
