Hi all!

Nizzy-awww, I am sure you are a great mom. I am not going to lie, motherhood is stressful in my opinion. I love it but it's not easy!! Somedays I also just want to scream haha. Though there are those sweet moments too.

Kavi is pretty good usually but he has gotten to that defiant phase and I try so many different discipline techniques and I can't find any that work well!! Aye aye aye!! When I speak firmly to him, he thinks I am joking. When I speak soft and sweet to correct him, doesn't really work either. Being loud and mean sounding also hardly works! What on earth?!! I know I am trying every technique possible, I'm not just letting him do whatever he wants, yet it is not easy. He listens to Suj's very firm voice but not mine most of the time, probably because he is with ME all day and not Suj. Kavi is just 16 months old now. Anyway, he is getting big and cute and saying more words and loves being outside all the time.

@Anna: Adam was in 12-18 Months clothes early on too...guess what...He's still wearing some of the clothes we bought for him when he was 6 months old  . They are getting tight but they still fit  . We use onesies at night or a sleeping bag for Allie. There was no way to get Adam in a sleeping bag. It is too hot here to be in long sleeved and footed onesies, although I have a few from 'the children's place'. I LOOOOVE those, they are so cute.

Miss Allie is practicing to sit up or crawl. I'll give her another two weeks and she should get the hang of it. Again, she was starving last night. She had steamed carrots and some noodles for dinner, then woke up to nurse and she had applesauce and barley with green beans...argh. I had to make it because I had nothing else around. So I started cooking at 9pm because she was so hungry. I'm glad for the magic bullet  .

Can we talk about tantrums again??? I take back what I wrote yesterday  . Went to target with the kidsos earlier and Adam doesn't want to sit in the cart anymore. I don't want him to stand in it, it freaks me out so I made him walk, that usually works really good..Well, he kept flopping on the floor and was rolling around. I told him to get up repeatedly and he eventually came walking behind me. He flopped down again as I turned the cart and rolled over his finger  , I gave him a speech, he cried, I put him in the cart...I SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE IT...and I'm gonna be more ####### about it as I have been before. I grabbed some mac and cheese (Archer Farms...sooo good) and look back and there is Adam..hanging out the cart with his butt in the air, legs in the cart, the rest of him hanging down. He started screaming, I had a heart attack and pulled him back into the cart just in time...I'm laughing now, as I write it but when it happened all blood drained from my head. I guess we both learned our lesson right there, just that Adam won't remember next time.

@ Vi: I don't think Sofia is spoiled in any way... At that age, they want to be held, and don't forget, she is a preemie, so she has a chronological age, and a gestational age, so she really is a bit younger than it appears. Do you have a sling or baby carrier? It will help a lot. I bought one early on and had Jona in the maitei (it's easier to use for me blondie, lol; brand: babyhawk.com). You carry your baby with you and have your hands free. I cook, shop, walk, do everything while he is in there. Hubbie carries Jona in it too (only at home cause he thinks our meitai has a girlie pattern, sigh), e.g. while cooking or cleaning the carpet. Don't worry about spoiling her at that age, you can't. Babies don't have the brain development yet to manipulate. Toddlers can try, but babies can't really. And as soon as they get mobile, they want to be on the floor anyways. Jona loves to crawl and explore eversince he can move!

She hates the baby carrier, she loved it in the beginning but now she doesn't like, the other day we wanted to go out and bring her with us and when we put her in there she started screaming!!!

There are some times in the middle of the night when I'm really tired and need to feed and change Sofia and just want to scream then smiles and I completely melt.

Oh dear Kavi has gotten so big...he is soooo cute! He looks like he could be Eman's brother! They look so much alike. Yeah Eman does not listen to me AT ALL but he listens to hubby just fine. HE only has to get a look from hubby to know now to do something. I completely get where you are coming from. He totally laughs at me when I am firm with him. He also gives me kisses and says " I love you mommy", and you know that is enough to melt my heart!

Awww poor baby...and poor mommy! hehe Yeah Eman refuses to sit in the cart and he does the stiff legs so I can't put his legs through the openings of the seat. It's a struggle to even do something simple as grab something at the market. I usually distract him or threaten to leave and it usually (and I stress USUALLY) helps.

@Evi: wow, I bet that was a shocking experience. haha, can't be mad at them though!!

Ben had a perfect day today, no fits at all! we went to Manhattan and he shopped with me for a few hours, took a nap in his stroller (tourists and all the noise didn't bother him at all!) hung out in the new lounging chairs on times square and was really good babbling in his carseat on the way back. Then helped

"dad-eeee" fix his motorcycle and went into the pool for an hour. He even ate everything I gave him today! He's been so good, and happy I wish he could be like this every day!

@Stina: Kavi soooo cute. He is getting big.

@HLM: you're welcome. :) I agree with Anna- always check out sales at gymboree and babygap/ children's place. Their usual stuff is expensive but you can find great bargains on clothes that are reduced.

@Anna: yay for saying "Mama" That was Ben's first word around 6 months, he didn't address me, but it is so cute when they say an actual word for the first time.

Dylan will throw a fit sometimes if you put him in the cart, i tune him out, people look at you funny, but i couldent care less...ignoring him is the best bet, if he dosent have an audience to play to he loses intrest in his tantrum

Stef - Glad you had a good day with Ben :) You definitely deserve some of those!

Eveline - Poor you for the experience with Adam at Target! How scary!!!

I took Declan to Super Walmart yesterday while his daddy was at a friend's house helping with a construction project. Usually, we do major Walmart shopping trips together (when we have to get groceries as well as a bunch of other junk). I was just going to go to the local grocery store, but Declan was so good in his carseat, I got ambitious and drove the extra 45 minutes to Super Walmart. It was a nightmare!!! About 5 minutes into the shopping, he wanted out of the cart. Normally, he loves to sit in the cart and people watch. He is not quite walking yet and I didn't really want him crawling all over the floor, so I tried taking him out and holding him, which worked for about 5 minutes before he was squirmy. BTW, the cart was so difficult to steer with one hand! So, he is fussing and squirming and starts screaming. So I go to the frozen food aisle and let him lean against the display case while I pick up some Lean Cuisines. Well, then he just takes off crawling at warp speed and I have to dash down the aisle. So, I spent the rest of the shopping trip alternatively holding him and trying to shop one handed and putting him in the cart and listening to him scream at the top of his lungs. I gave up searching for the least expensive brands and just ended up grabbing things at the end!

All the baby stories are too cute. Zaid is becoming the same with tantrums. He really is a good boy 90% of the time, but if he is slightly tired, watch out!!!!

I feel like I never get on here anymore. Working 60 hours a week, going to school, and trying to keep up with being a mom and wife is really getting to me. Some days I just wanna cry knowing I barely had 2 hours to spend with Zaid. I know Im doing all this to better our future but sometimes feel like its just not fair to him. :( I think I need to let out a good cry

awww. *hugs* that sucks. I don't know how you do it. I remember just school and taking care of Ben was so exhausting. I know it's not easy but you have to make time for yourself and Zaid or you will just burn out very quick.

Hey GIRLS!

I knows it's been forever since I showed my face here. Just wanted to give everyone an update on how we are doing and I wanted to see how everyone else is doing. I see there are some babies born in the last couple of months. They are all so cute :)

Well Ryker is doing great. He is the best baby in the world. Seriously he is an angel. He barely cries and even if he does it is more like a whine. He is healthy and happy. Growing well. The other day he was 60cm and 6,4kg @ 15 weeks.

We went to see my family in the Netherlands the first couple of weeks of May. Ryker was so good on the plane, didn't cry at all on the way there or the way back. It was good to see everyone and they all love Ryker to dead. I was so happy to be back in the US though.

My recovery from the C-section is going "ok"... I still don't feel anything in the area around the incision but strangely enough it hurts and itches. I have no idea how to explain it but it is very anoying.

I will try to post some pics later on today.

Nessa- when was Ben born? so I can look up your birth story. I am going to try and find evryones story because I am curious :)

@Darkhorse: Glad to see that your little man is thriving and growing well.

About the scar. The numbness will wear off after time. It took me about a year I think and it itches every now and then. I never felt any pain except when I was pregnant with Allie.

Apropos, did any of you secure furniture at the wall? I know it is recommended and will be a PITA, how did you do it? Does Home Depot sell things to do it? Ikea furniture comes with those security fasteners. I also ordered a couple of baby gates at Amazon, they are well priced. We love the hands-free ones (you have to step on the bottom to open it, step really hard, I have to put all my body weight on it!). Let's see if the cat will figure out that she can just jump over that thing :P

what is PITA? well we didn't secure the furniture on the walls. Ben likes to pull himself up on the coffeetable, but hasn't approached any of the other furnitures yet. I usually have an eye on him, but if he gets really interested in the furniture we will probably secure them to the walls. I saved some of the ikea stuff that comes with the furniture but I like to move it around a lot so that's why I didn't secure it to the walls yet. You can easily do it yourself though, I'm sure you will find similar screws and the fabric thing at home depot. We have outlet covers, gates and a "baby jail" and I am probably going to get a few more drawer and door latches because he loves to pull EVERYTHING out of the cabinets. You must be so excited to finally move into your new house!

Adam never pulled up on any furniture that was free standing. We have a "Molger Shelf" http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/13427_PE092239_S3.jpg in the playroom and none of the kids have ever shown any interest in it (we put it there temorarily after we moved in and never really found a space for it so it just stays there). We have electrical outlets covered in most of the rooms and a latch on the cabinet under the sink, even though Adam won't go in there either but I just want it on there. When Allie starts crawling and cruising we'll probably put a gate on the stairs but as of right now, we don't need to.
