@ Eshansmommy -- Welcome to you and your beautiful babies!

@ Missbollinger -- What a sweetheart Henry is!

@ Staashi -- Thanks for the good info and the review of your own experience. I'll do the fasting test before getting out of bed tomorrow morning and see if that makes a difference. The other numbers are good. It didn't take as long as I expected to get over the sugar withdrawal, and my fiber and veggie intakes are both up. I received the nurse's instructions in the mail yesterday, and this looks like something I can follow for life, actually. My husband is taking a real interest, asking questions and being very supportive. If the baby's really that big, I sure don't feel as big as I would have expected -- would hardly feel pg at all right now if he weren't kicking constantly. But we'll see what happens :)

I'm the USC.

@ MissBollinger: Cute pics! How do you all get your husband convinced to have professional pics taken???

Seriously, I went once at 8 months to Sears, and I don't like their service, the pics don't look good either. I guess I real photographer would do better... But anyways, we'll buy ourselves a nice SLR camera, with those you can take wonderful pictures even at home. MIL will come to visit soon to babysit Jona for 4 hours as we are going to a Dining Out (sort of a military ball)... And while she's here, we can stage a room and have a photo session with Mr. Jona :)

Yesterday I attended my first La Leche League meeting. It was so nice and informative! We talked about nighttime parenting throughout the meeting and it was so good to hear from other mommies. The group is really wonderful. THey have a free of charge library with all Dr. Sears books which I love. Jona had a blast crawling and playing with the other babies. I'm glad I found the group! They also know good midwives around here, even a homebirth midwive. :D

@Anna: how to get hubby to take professional pictures: easy. Give him the choice to either go on a 8 hour shopping trip during christmas season at the mall , OR go to a photographer, spend 20 minutes snapping pictures while spending quality family time and you're done christmas shopping because all you have to do is get some frames and the granparents will go crazy over their presents. :P

good to hear that you're settling in in your new area. I wish there was a playgroup of some sort where I live. I just don't see that many kids Ben's age around. Anyone here ever try Gymboree classes? We have a gymboree here and Ben likes Music. I am contemplating signing him up just to be able to socialize with some other mommies.

@Missbollinger: I love these pictures, they are awsome!

@Eshansmommy: your kids are adorable! welcome to the baby corner!

@Chnst: Check out meetup. I almost can't believe that there's no playgroup in your area. I'm in five groups here.

@Anna: We haven't had professional pics taken yet either. There are some of Adam from Kindergarten and some from Babie's R us but that is it. We would have to go too.

Missbolinger, I'm joining the club, I love those pics

Good news on this side, Sofia slept from 11pm 'til 8.30am, I keep waking up to check If she was ok, I couldn't believe it, the bad news is that she is not sleeping in her crib so we keep putting her to sleep there durin her naps.

Tomorrow we will get to go out, we have a cocktail party at my husband's job, I'm so glad my mom is here to babysit.

vi, zaid slept in a pack n play in our room until he turned 1 year old. We felt better that way, as Im sure he did too. We moved him right into his crib last month and put his pack n play away so we wouldnt break in and use it. He has had no problems sleeping in there at all. Do what makes you comfortable, not what you think your "suppose" to be doing. Sofia is a beautiful btw <3

@vi: yay, great news. for the last 6 nights, 5 of them Ben slept 8-10 hours straight. I wonder if that's it, if he stablished a new sleeping pattern and he'll keep it that way., If he does, I'll be so happy. I have another 4 weeks before i go back to work and my life will be so easy if i can sleep when I start working.

I got my friend to babysit, so we'll go out tonight. I can believe I'll hang out with adults, yay!!

Babies grow out of their clothes VERY VERY quickly. And, a lot of clothes shrink when washed so be very careful about buying everything in sight. Buy the basics at first. This means a ton of onesies. Buy things that are a size bigger because you will pull them out of the washer/dryer and they will look really small. It's so tempting to buy all those cute outfits but for me, the clothes were not lasting more than 2-3 weeks because he was growing so tall so fast.

Onesies are definetely the way to go. You want something that is easy to put on and easy to get off since most babies scream while being changed. Also, they do grow out of clothes really fast. Adam was in 6month clothes at 2 months old so we skipped the entire 3-6 Months stage. You don't want anything with buttons, ribbons that need to be tied etc.

Since your babe will be born in the late summer/fall I would mostly get long sleeved onesies and a couple of cotton pants, maybe some babylegs to keep legs warm and well fitting socks (they tend to come off of little feet) and a few hats for the noggin. Also, you might want to try places like "once upon a child" for 'dress clohtes' for baby. They sell about everything 'second hand' for prices starting at 3 Dollars, that way you won't bite your bum, if you spent money at clothes that baby will never even wear.

Are you going to have a babyshower, do you have friends with children near? Maybe they'll give you clohtes. I got a whole box and two bags full of girl's clothes for Allie AFTER she was born. She has clohtes up to 2T now.

onesies are the best! I agree, get the long sleeved onesies. Also, get neutral colors and make sure they are mostly cotton, some babies are sensitive to polyester. same goes for sheets. Also, we had a ton of clothes when Ben was born but only 1 pajama. (those bodysuits that zipper up) Get some of those. and I agree with the sizes. Ben outgrew newborn sizes within days. He was in 3-6 months for a while though but started to fit in 6-9 months when he was 5 months old. Just keep in mind that the common sizes may not be accurate for your child. It's fun to shop for baby stuff, but like eveline said, most likely you will get a ton of stuff from friends and family. Even the people you would never expect to set foot in a babies R Us will show up with an awkwardly wrapped baby outfit.

We love onesies too, are the BEST!! but Sofia got so much clothes from here and from Peru that some of them she never got to wear, it's so true when they say that babies grow fast.

Last night we had an awesome time, we went to a bar-Restaurant near Time Square, as Nessa said, it was really cool to hang out with adults.

Zaidsmommy@ She is taking longer naps in her crib, but the thing is during the nights, we will bring her back to the crib starting tomorrow (at nights) to see what happens

I'm going to the gym girls, seeya later!
