that;s why, your doctor did an u/s right after. my PCP confirmed with a blood test and then referred me to an obgyn. I was lucky to ask tricare for an emergency consult, then i had my doctor's appointment after a week, otherwise it would take 3-4 weeks. he didn't do an u/s nor checked the hearbeat (i was 6 weeks), just a vaginal exam to see how was everything. First u/s was when i was 8 weeks.

Am i crazy i'm not worried about food once the baby is born? I read about people cooking and freezing meals, i'm not doing that. i always have frozen stuff, like frozen chicken, fish, lean cuisine, vegetables, etc. And I cook. I plan on keep going grocery weekly to buy fresh dairy, produce and meat. I'm not gonna freeze anything.

@Nessa: No, you are not crazy. With Adam I did freeze a little bit and never ate it because I didn't know you can't freeze potatoes  . They got all squishy so I dumped everything and went grocery shopping instead. After Allie I was out with both kids 3 days after she was born, getting groceries and cooking like normal.

I had a lot of stuff frozen, but I always do - whenever I have leftovers I tend to wrap em and throw em in the freezer for another time. and there were several times when amirah was very new that I was super happy to have something I just had to thaw and heat :)

i'm always envious of people who have the foresight to do that. it seems like it would make life so much easier some nights. one of these days...

I would do it, if I just had the freezer space.

my water broke about two and a half weeks early and I hadnt packed anything, so there I was on the phone with my midwife, trying to get my son off to school and trying to pack a bag and get to the hospital. My husband was working out of town that day so I was calling him too, the whole morning was like a joke - so pack your bags early :) you never know!

i was thinking when i'm 38 weeks, but i guess i'll be doing it at around 36 weeks instead. Also install the car seats around that time frame.

I've been thinking about 36 weeks as well. Are you installing a car seat in each car? We're leaning that way.

one car seat in each car, since we share vehicles and when the baby goes to daycare i'll drop him off and charles will pick him up, so we need 2 car seats.

Did anyone else's child love to suck on the tags on soft toys? Ilyas is obsessed with them this week...

About the car seats: we don't have an extra car SEAT, but we bought an extra base for our infant seat. Totally worth it, even though my husband doesn't drive Ilyas around too much (maybe 1-2 times per week). It is a huge pain to keep switching the base around, especially in the winter.

I don't know what we'll do once he grows out of his infant car seat...though at his current growth rate, it won't be for a while (maybe a year old?). One of my best friends gave us a very gently used Britax convertible seat--I bet we'll buy a second seat for my husband's car.
