I second that. Make an appointment at the doctors, sometimes you can just walk in and make a pee test to have it confirmed OR take another test and if it is still positive then you can be 100% certain.

Stina - I agree, good advice. Definitely take advantage now girls and pamper yourselves, have dates with hubby, take a mini-vacation if you can.

I'm glad to hear about Kavi's "boy part" :) Declan still had a little swelling, but the doc thinks that will be gone in 6 months more. How was Kavi at his first post-surgery follow-up?

His was still a little swollen too, I believe. I am sure Declan's will be gone soon!

twila- thanks! wow 3 weeks old already?? :luv:

neworleansbound-thanks too! :)

I am going to say an annoying thing that I bet you pregnant girls already hear all the time, and I used to hear it too, LOL. But it's SOOOO true...

You want the baby to come, you don't want to be pregnant anymore and having to pee all the time and feeling big, but when the baby arrives your life will be changed forever. In mostly a good way, but also you will remember the days of resting and only taking care of yourself---meaning feeding you, showering you, bathroom issues of only you...you will have to do everything double after they are here on little rest. How tired you are while pregnant, IMO, is nothing to compared to the tiredness of having a newborn. So try to soak it in during the last few weeks and do anything you can think of that you won't be able to do for awhile after the baby is here...like read a book or a bunch of books, go to the movies, and whatever else you want. LOL. Having a baby is wonderful but you should do these things while you can!! :P You will be able to do them again at some point but just not right away in my opinion. I still don't get a full night's sleep and he is over a year old!!! :D

I hear ya Stina - I say that all the time. I can't wait to see what he looks like and such, but I am also crying about sleepless nights and all the other Ms. Independent things - God forgive me for being selfish...but those are things that I love and will totally miss. :(

Awww, don't worry about it. :) It's true, you will miss some things sometimes. But being a mother is very rewarding too.

However, if at anytime as a new mom you(or any of the expectant moms here) feel overwhelmed or any other hard to deal with emotion, it's completely normal!!!

If any pregnant gals need advice or support, we all are here! If after becoming a mom, someone needs advice, remember we are here! You can PM me or any other new moms, I think we are all willing to help with what we can. I know when I wrote here once near the beginning of my motherhood about the emotions and feelings of being overwhelmed at times, it was so nice to know that it was normal, even if not talked about all the time. I guess b/c a baby brings so much joy overall that you forget that sometimes the adjustment to motherhood can be hard, and you kind of forget about it until someone brings it up and you say "oh yeah, that was me too in the beginning!!". :P It's still hard sometimes, but I feel different now than when I was a brand new mommy. :)

Stina - thanks so much for the support. I think so many people just expect that motherhood is this time of unending joy and I see it as a time of excitement but I also get nervous about postpartum depression, too. Not that I've had any symptoms of that, but I think that we assume that everything is going to be all rosey, when in actuality I see it as looking at everything through rose-colored glasses. Babies/children are so much work - and there really is a reason why Erma Bombeck used to call motherhood "The Second Oldest Profession" - because it's not easy. It changes everything in your life, with your spouse, with your body...nothing is ever the same. I'm looking forward to meeting the little one, I just pray that I can handle all the challenges that are coming our way.

I did a blood test too to confirm my pregnancy.

Our dr. did the pee test - and then did an ultrasound to date the pregnancy. Actually, I had done a pee test at home - my Dollar Tree Made in China test. I went to the dr to confirm it and thought he'd do a blood test - he's like..."No, we don't waste the money on a blood test anymore...we did a pregnancy test on you when we had you pee in the cup - now we'll just see how far along you are with an ultrasound." He ran a full panel of bloodwork on me afterward to make sure that everything was in order.
