Yay Nessa!

Well, Declan's ear infection hasn't resolved itself, so now he is on a new 10 day antibiotic. I have to tell you ladies, I was a paranoid momma last night because hubby and I realized that Declan has emitted a sweet, almost syrupy odor for the past 2 days and his urine smells sweet too. So I was freaking because my mind immediately went to MSUD (maple syrup urine disease), even though it was one of the tests they did at birth. Of course, Googling my concern last night basically gave me websites on MSUD or diabetes. I told the doctor about that today. She thinks it is probably due to his previous antibiotic. She wants to wait 10 days for it to totally get out of his system and then see if the odor is still there. I feel a bit better now :)

Does anyone have an opinion on chiropractic for 1 year olds? I have had several people suggest I look into it due to Declan's recurrent ear infections. Of course, before I do anything, I will do lots of research. I was just wondering if anyone had personal experience with it.

ETA: I love Enzo's pic :) His belly is adorable!!!

@autum: I only know sweet smelling urine when someone has diabetes (very unlikely for a baby) It probably is the antibiotic, I remember when I had i.v. antibiotics at the hospital my urine smelled really funny too.

I was acutally considering a chiropractor for Ben's constipation... I am a little skeptic about that, but I am at a point right now where I'd do almost anything to help him. If you give it a try, let me know how it went. I think ear tubes helped for Evelines' little boy.

I dont have any experience with chiropractors, but at that same age as Declan my son had recurring ear infections. At first I wanted to avoid the tubes because I hated the idea of a surgery but the infections got so bad they would come back sometimes as soon as 2 days after the antibiotics ended, and the antibiotics started getting so harsh and strong they were causing some major intestinal distress and a HORRID diaper rash that would almost blister within 2 or 3 minutes of him pooping. He finally had the tubes put in at about 14 months and never ever had another ear infection again.

Guess who just slept for 6 hours straight?

It was definetely not Allie so I guess Ben slept good last night, huh? Enjoy it while it lasts.

We have to get Allie out of our bedroom or she nurses all night long. Her room is still occupied with a big ol mattress that my brother slept on when he was here. DH works nonstop so he doesn't have time to take it back to my inlaws. I guess I'll just push her pack n play in there so she sleeps in there at night.
