Yaads, i had a few massages in brazil while on vacation at 14 weeks. then here i had it done once, i could still lie on my belly without much problem, that was i think 2 months ago. now i can't imagine having a regular massage cuz my belly would be too much on the way, but if i could find a place that did pregnant massage and it was the same price range i'd definitely do it.

oh, and if i had back pain i'd definitely try acunpuncture, bu that's not my case so far.

Thanks Nessa :D

I never thought about accupuncture - I will definitely look into that. Yeah I was wondering how massage worked when your belly is too big...maybe they have special tables or something? I was also thinking that the chiropractic stuff might not be good for the baby either...seems like someone putting all that pressure so near your abdomen (lower back) wouldn't be a good thing. I am going to talk to my doc about it on Wed. Just trying to get some ideas and questions ahead of time.

Yaads - I had chiropractic and massage during pregnancy. I have scoliosis and my back hurts a lot normally, hurt more during pregnancy. I also had sciatica. The chiropractor was very cautious and didn't do certain techniques he had previously done on me. That helped the scoliosis pain, but not the sciatica. The massage helped the sciatica. My massage rx had me lie on my side (because she didn't have a special table) and it worked fine.

I had a "special" pregnancy massage when I was 6 months pregnant and it was VERY disappointing. If/when I get pregnant again, I will find someone better...I hope. I really needed relief!

Girls!!

My back is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :crying::crying::crying: , hubby tries to give me massages but still not enough. Another thing, I'm not visiting the bathroom (you know what I mean) as often as I used to, what's going on? I still eating lots of fiber, drink lots of water and nothing I'm getting really annoyed with this, you know how uncomfortable this is. Any advice???

Stina@ I have been thinking about that alot. People tell me all the time that my life is going to change and I'm super excited about it but at the same time I'm sure I'm going to miss my freedom, going shopping, go on vacation with hubby, movies, dinner go to the gym, sleep :crying: , everything.

Sil says that he will be here for me to help I hope he does it. I'm trying to enjoy as much as I can now but there are so many things to do before Sofia arrives, the bedroom is not ready, we have been looking for a new bedroom set for the longest time, hopefully next week we get a good deal for the holiday. I want to set the baby corner too, I'm 7 months already and you never know when the baby will show up. We have to get rid of so much stuff from the house and make room for the baby stuff, I'm sure that after the baby shower we will need it.

I'm a little hungry, I'll be back...

Nessa@ Post some belly pics...

Wow! There are a lot of you coming into the home stretch. I can't wait to see the baby boom!

For me it wasn't so much the aches and pains of pregnancy that were tough, but the fatigue (and it lasted most of the pregnancy). My family told me it was nature's way to prepare me for double trouble's arrival. Ha! We have found a way to survive for now. DH feeds he babies around midnight-1am. He lets me sleep from 10pm to whenever they wake-up later. Those uninterrupted 4-5 hours make a world of difference for me and my mood!

AFM: I went back to my OB on Tuesday with some drainage from my c-section incision. She could not see anywhere that looked compromised. She put me on antibiotics and had me come back today. She wasn't happy that things hadn't really let up. So, she sent me to wound care at the hospital today. Well...they looked at it and said there should not be this much drainage 3 weeks out from surgery. So...they numbed the area and the doc examined it. He found a pocket underneath some scar tissue. So...I got to experience the fun of having them numb the area, reopen part of it, clean it, and pack it. I go back tomorrow to get it checked again and repacked. After that, I will have a home nurse come out to repack it three times a week. The end of this pregnancy has been a trip!

But today I went to the ob/gyn and I am 1cm dilated and 70% effaced. I also lost my plug the other day. So according to the gyn it wouldn't be more than 3 weeks from now :)

@darkhorse: i wasn't counting everybody that's pregnant, just mentioning that in 2 months we'll have a whole month with births, and you're giving birth way sooner than that, nothing against you (F)

@vi: when loads of fiber, water and exercise doesn't work, try stool softener, either colace, metamucil or dulcolax (the stool softner one, not the laxative, laxatives are bad)

awww thanks Nessa :energy:

I thought it was about who's due date was coming up first...

I do prefer to wait giving birth at last until the 16th so I will be passed 37 weeks. But that is ONLY 11 days! Where did time go???

Hey everyone :D

Gone for a few days and come back to a whole new thread! Wow we sure have a lot to say :P

Glad that everyone's babies seem to be doing well and getting clean bills of health from their check ups...that is a blessing :luv: Congrats to those celebrating milestones and birthdays!

I got to the doc last week and I go again next week. They are doing another ultrasound. Everything seems to be just fine with the little guy in there. My official due date is August 21! Boy that seems like a long way to go!

I was wondering...did anyone do massage or chiropractic care during their pregnancy? I was in a car accident 8-9 years ago and ended up dislocating vertabrae in my lower back...did PT and chiropractic stuff for months. Everything seemed to be ok the last few years, I would have pain and such every now and then but nothing major. But for the last few weeks I have just been in excrutiating pain and can't seem to get my back "back in place". Anybody with pregnancy chiropractic/massage experience...I would love to hear your experience.

Wow, im only a couple days apart from you - my due date is August 23 and yes, it does feel like its still a long way to go!! i have my NT test next friday so Im looking forward to that!

I hope you find a good place to do massages to ease the pain on your back!

You might have caught the pregnancy early but usually a positive test (even if it's only a faint line) means positive. I'd wait a few more days and test again.
